Hokage Teacher: With Dimensional Teacter System

Chapter 74: Chapter 75: Taijutsu Challenge and Summer Training

"The Taijutsu Challenge consists of two stages. The first stage is the Forest Sprint. I've set up numerous trap mechanisms in a specific forest area. Each time you're caught in a trap or hit by a mechanism, you'll lose one point. If you lose three points, the challenge is considered a failure."

"So, I have three chances," Obito remarked, feeling that the challenge didn't seem too difficult.

Setting traps was a course topic that all ninjas had to learn, so Obito was no stranger to it.

"Additionally, I'll send out a shadow clone that's slightly slower than you to chase after you. If you're too slow and the clone catches you, it also counts as a failure," Muketsu added.

If someone moved cautiously step by step, it would naturally be easier to avoid traps. However, having someone chasing behind added an extra layer of difficulty.

"Even your shadow clone will be chasing me, Muketsu-sensei?" Obito immediately felt the challenge was no longer simple.

"As long as you maintain a good pace, the clone won't catch you," Muketsu replied with a smile.

"Alright, Muketsu-sensei, take me to try the challenge now!" Obito eagerly volunteered.

"Alright, but there's an entry fee." Muketsu pulled out three test papers, saying, "There are about 100 questions here. Think of it as the cost to initiate the challenge."

"Huh?" Obito stared blankly at the test papers Muketsu handed over, stunned by the unexpected fee system.

"Muketsu-sensei, this feels wrong. Since you're the teacher, shouldn't I pay you instead? Let me give you three test papers as the challenge fee." Obito, overwhelmed by the sight of the papers, began spouting nonsense.

Smack!

Muketsu flicked Obito's forehead with two fingers and smiled.

"Do you think setting up the traps doesn't take time and effort? If I don't impose a cost, you'd keep pestering me for retries. I'd be exhausted just from setting up the traps."

Obito, now rubbing his forehead, nodded sheepishly and laughed awkwardly. Muketsu's reasoning made perfect sense.

"Thank you for your hard work, Muketsu-sensei," Obito said, hopping onto a rock to massage Muketsu's shoulders.

"But I think the numbers 'one hundred' and 'three' are a bit much. Two feels like a lucky number. How about we compromise and make it just two questions? I promise not to trouble you further."

"Press harder," Muketsu instructed.

"And about the number of questions?" Obito's eyes lit up with hope.

"That's negotiable. If you really love the number two, I can increase it to 250 questions." Muketsu's smile radiated a menacing kindness.

"Um, I think three and one hundred are quite nice after all," Obito instantly backpedaled, his expression changing at light speed.

"Stop joking around. Let's get to the challenge location," Muketsu said, grabbing Obito and using the Body Flicker Technique to bring him to the designated area in no time.

Looking around, Obito didn't notice anything special about this part of the forest, except for the slightly thicker trees.

"Just head straight east to reach the endpoint. My shadow clone will start pursuing you three seconds after you take off," Muketsu explained, pointing in the direction.

Obito nodded, took a deep breath, and dashed off at full speed, glancing nervously over his shoulder to check for the clone.

But not paying attention to the path had immediate consequences.

Obito stepped right into a snare trap Muketsu had set up and was hoisted into the air.

"Minus one point," Muketsu's calm voice echoed in Obito's ears.

"And just so you know, if you don't get out of that trap soon, my clone will begin its pursuit," Muketsu added.

Hearing this, Obito suddenly remembered the 100-question entry fee. He couldn't let all that effort go to waste at the starting line—three test papers were on the line!

Drawing on his abdominal strength, Obito performed an inverted sit-up, grabbed the rope, and burned through it with fire chakra. He then bolted eastward at full speed.

Having learned his lesson, Obito paid extra attention to the ground and avoided any areas that looked even slightly suspicious.

"If I stay focused, this challenge isn't that hard," Obito thought to himself, smiling after running for a full minute without triggering any traps.

But his smile didn't last long. Out of nowhere, large wooden logs swung down towards him, seemingly out of thin air, crashing and swinging back and forth like pendulums.

It was then Obito realized why Muketsu had said he couldn't complete this challenge before.

Luckily, Obito's reflexes had improved significantly after months of dealing with Kakashi's lightning-fast strikes. A month earlier, he'd have been sent flying by those logs.

Though Obito managed to dodge the mechanisms, his speed dropped significantly, allowing the shadow clone to catch up and end the challenge in failure.

"I should've just let one of the logs hit me—losing a single point would've been better," Obito muttered, annoyed at himself for slowing down.

"Why not focus on increasing your speed and reaction time to quickly navigate through the traps instead of just avoiding them?" Muketsu advised.

The point of this challenge wasn't to train Obito's ability to take hits but to improve the exact skills required for mastering the Body Flicker Technique.

"If I already knew the Body Flicker Technique, I could've instantly dashed past all the traps," Obito lamented after thinking it through.

"Stop daydreaming and get back to training," Muketsu responded bluntly.

Later that afternoon, Muketsu visited Asuma's home to begin the week's training.

To his surprise, the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, was at home, sitting in the living room with his pipe, lost in thought.

"You're here for Asuma's training? He's waiting for you in the backyard," Hiruzen said with a smile, lowering his pipe.

Suddenly, Hiruzen recalled Muketsu's exceptional performance from the previous day and asked, "Muketsu, if the ninja world plunges into war and Konoha is drawn into it, what would you do?"

Muketsu thought for a moment before replying with a smile, "As a teacher, I would train my students to strengthen their abilities and contribute to the village's power. As a ninja of Konoha, I am prepared to fight for the village!"

Given the recent disappearance of the Third Kazekage and his own exhibited capabilities, Muketsu had a sense of where Hiruzen's thoughts were headed.

Muketsu didn't mind this train of thought—in fact, he welcomed it. He hoped Hiruzen would follow the path he was subtly guiding him down.

Hiruzen nodded, clearly satisfied with Muketsu's response.

He then shared the news about the Third Kazekage's disappearance and the likely onset of war.

"I think we should gather the fourth-year students who are close to graduation for summer training to enhance their abilities. Students from other grades who perform exceptionally well could also join," Muketsu suggested.

This would not only provide Obito and the others with more intensive training but also allow Muketsu to continue earning rewards from teaching.
