Hokage Teacher: With Dimensional Teacter System

Chapter 80: Chapter 81: Call Me Jonin

"Huh?" Obito was surprised. He thought the special training meant he could skip his evening practice with Mokuzuki.

"What 'huh'? Don't you want to learn Soru through the challenge?" Mokuzuki lightly tapped Obito's head with his finger as he spoke.

"I do want to learn it, but… it feels a bit exhausting," Obito admitted honestly.

Unlike Shisui and Might Guy, Obito wasn't used to a rigorous training schedule. Before this, his training was sporadic, mostly limited to weekends, so he found the current pace a bit overwhelming.

"If you're too tired, you can rest anytime. Just make sure to focus on learning what I teach," Mokuzuki explained with a smile.

While teaching the whole class required balancing many factors, he had far more flexibility when it came to his personal students.

"Alright then! I'll give it my all. See you later, Mokuzuki-sensei!" Obito grinned before running off to get dinner.

Even if Mokuzuki hadn't clarified, Obito would have gone for the evening session regardless. He knew who truly had his best interests at heart, and he wasn't one to take that lightly.

After parting with his students, Mokuzuki returned to his home in the main district.

Every evening, Mokuzuki reviewed the sealing techniques Kushina had given him. He tried solving any problems himself and only consulted Minato or Kushina for questions he truly couldn't figure out.

Having not discussed sealing techniques with them for a few days, he had built up a list of questions, ready to resolve them after dinner.

Over dinner, Mokuzuki smoothly transitioned the conversation to his sealing technique studies and started posing his questions.

For experienced practitioners like Minato and Kushina, Mokuzuki's beginner-level questions were child's play. He quickly received the answers he needed.

"By the way, Mokuzuki, could you teach us how to make that squirrel-shaped sweet and sour fish again? We tried recreating it at home, but it turned out completely different from yours—it's so tricky!" Kushina brought up.

"I won't have time until four days from now. I'm currently leading summer training for my students, so I'm busy from Monday to Friday," Mokuzuki explained.

Today was Tuesday. Including the current day, there were still three days until Saturday.

"That's fine! Teach us when you're free on Saturday," Kushina said understandingly.

"Summer training? Doesn't the academy have a summer break?" Minato asked, clearly curious.

"Not exactly. Here's what happened..." Mokuzuki then explained the entire situation to Minato and Kushina.

This wasn't a secret, so there was no harm in sharing.

"Providing special training for soon-to-be graduates is a great way to strengthen new genin," Minato nodded in approval.

With the chaotic state of the ninja world, although fresh graduates wouldn't be sent to the battlefield, having stronger genin meant they'd become competent ninja more quickly, which was undoubtedly beneficial.

"This also shows how much Lord Third values you, entrusting such an important task to you," Minato added with a warm smile.

"Looks like we'll have to start calling you Mokuzuki Jonin in a month," Kushina teased.

Previously, Kushina thought Mokuzuki's path to Tokubetsu Jonin would be through mastering sealing techniques. She hadn't expected his teaching skills to be even more impressive, potentially earning him the title through education instead.

"I need to achieve results that satisfy Lord Third first. I'm not confident I can pull it off just yet. Even if I do succeed, it's still nothing compared to true Jonin like you and Minato," Mokuzuki replied modestly.

Tokubetsu Jonin occupied a unique space in the hierarchy. While some Tokubetsu Jonin were nearly on par with regular Jonin in combat, the majority were skilled Chunin with expertise in a specific field.

If Mokuzuki were promoted after the training program, his dossier would undoubtedly highlight him as an "educational talent."

That said, in Konoha, even becoming a Tokubetsu Jonin wasn't easy. It was a mark of distinction and gave access to Jonin-level responsibilities, such as participating in high-level meetings.

"Who cares if it's Tokubetsu Jonin? It's still better than being a Chunin. Besides, you can always aim for a higher rank later," Kushina said bluntly but logically.

After resolving his sealing technique questions and chatting for a while, Mokuzuki left to meet his students in the southern forest.

When he arrived, Shisui and Might Guy were already training.

"Come here, both of you. Let's go over the chakra burst technique for Soru again," Mokuzuki called them over.

Until they mastered Soru, Mokuzuki planned to focus entirely on this skill.

Once they succeeded, he would move on to other techniques. For Shisui, this meant advanced fire-style jutsu, while for Guy, Mokuzuki had plans to teach him the Stone Breathing technique.

First, Stone Breathing was exceptionally challenging, known in its original lore as the hardest of the basic breathing forms. Starting early gave Guy more time to master it.

Second, breathing techniques offered excellent physical conditioning benefits, which complemented Guy's taijutsu-focused style perfectly.

Shisui and Guy immediately stopped their current training and ran to Mokuzuki's side.

About ten minutes into the session, Obito arrived.

Obito glanced enviously at Shisui and Guy, who were practicing advanced techniques like Soru. Under Mokuzuki's shadow clone's guidance, he started working on chakra nature transformation instead.

During the day, Obito's training mainly focused on improving his physical abilities. The intensity had already surpassed what he was used to.

"Train hard for a week, then challenge the taijutsu trial again," Obito thought to himself.

He didn't dare rush into it recklessly. Losing would mean being stuck with three blank exam papers.

The next day.

Determined to pass the taijutsu trial, Obito and Guy borrowed weights to wear while running laps around the training field. They only stopped when they were completely drained, resuming once their stamina recovered.

"Does Obito always train this hard?" Asuma, who was resting nearby, couldn't help but notice Obito's dedication.

Having already met the training goals Mokuzuki set for them, Asuma had been taking it easy.

Mokuzuki's requirement was for students to master tree climbing and water walking within two weeks. Since Asuma had already achieved these, he could technically slack off until the deadline.

However, seeing Obito working so hard left Asuma uneasy.

He glanced at Shisui, who was practicing fire-style jutsu, and realized that if there were a practical exam, not only would he fail to take first place—he might not even come in second.

Everyone seemed to be training relentlessly, as if slacking off for even a moment would cost them dearly.

Finally, Asuma got up, dusted himself off, and returned to his fire-style practice.

Having Shisui as competition was one thing—he was an outlier of exceptional talent. But losing to Obito? That was unacceptable.

"If I lose to Shisui, fine. But Obito? Then maybe the rest of the academy will beat me too. Where's my pride then?" Asuma thought.
