Hokage:Overturning Ninja world

Chapter 60: Chapter 60: The Rain Stopped

Hundreds of kunai shot toward Logan.

He calmly raised his hand and pointed forward—

"Star Platinum!"

The towering figure of Star Platinum materialized out of thin air. Its starry eyes scanned the sky, and in its vision, the kunai seemed to move in slow motion, every trajectory crystal clear.

Ola Ola Ola Ola!

A barrage of punches exploded forth, hundreds in an instant, knocking every kunai from the sky.

Several chains had been hidden among the weapons, trying to bind Logan, but Star Platinum seized them mid-air. With a savage yank, over a dozen Root Organization ninjas were flung out, spun through the air, and slammed into the ground. Whether they lived was uncertain.

Despite seeing their comrades fall, the other Root ninjas did not falter. More than ten surged forward, aiming to overwhelm Logan, Konan, and Sasuke in close combat.

It was clear: if they made contact, they would be annihilated—moths diving into a flame.

As his loyal soldiers fell one by one, Danzo showed no expression. He merely counted silently in his heart.

Everything was going according to plan.

For this confrontation, Danzo had collected every piece of intel on Logan's abilities:

Overwhelming melee prowess.

A regeneration ability more terrifying than Orochimaru's.

Genjutsu skills on par with Uchiha Itachi.

Flight and super-speed movement.

When Danzo first read this information, he sat in silence for a long time.

He had never seen such a perfect warrior.

Not just a shinobi—but a one-man army capable of taking down entire nations.

Danzo wanted to own Logan's power. That was the reason for his olive branch. In Danzo's ideal future, Logan would become the master of the ninja world—and Danzo, the "shadow" pulling the strings behind him.

But Danzo was nothing if not cautious.

Even with promises and the power of Distinguished Heavenly Gods, he prepared thoroughly for rejection and full-scale battle.

Because if Logan said no—he had to die.

Danzo couldn't risk other villages acquiring the Ripple, the Stands, or the Uchiha bloodline. That would be disastrous for Konoha.

So he asked himself again and again:

"How do I kill Logan?"

Since the day Jiraiya sent Sasuke to protect Konoha, Danzo had obsessed over this question.

Because once he made a move, he wouldn't just face Logan—he'd have to deal with that fool Jiraiya and the hesitant Sarutobi Hiruzen.

But now, tonight, Danzo believed he had the answer.

Buzz—

A translucent barrier rose around the Uchiha ruins, cutting off chakra fluctuations from the outside world. Hidden by the rain and darkness, the people of Konoha remained unaware.

"Danzo! What are you doing?!"

Kakashi shouted.

He had known Danzo was a scheming lunatic, but even he hadn't expected this level of madness.

When Danzo and Logan began their "talks," Kakashi had tried to intervene, but Root ninjas blocked his way. So he waited, watching from outside, ready to step in at the first sign of danger.

But the fight started faster—and more violently—than he'd imagined.

Even barrier jutsu had been used.

Kakashi's eyes flicked to the Root agents battling Logan.

He couldn't step in now.

On one side were the people he was ordered to protect by the Third Hokage. On the other side—Konoha's own shinobi.

Root or not, they were still Konoha ninjas.

All Kakashi could do was retreat and alert the Third Hokage and Jiraiya to stop Danzo's madness.

Oink! Ooink!

Seven or eight Root agents surrounded Kakashi.

One of them said coldly, "Kakashi-senpai, please stay where you are. For your sake—and ours."

Kakashi narrowed his eyes. "The Third ordered me to protect Logan and his group. That's my mission."

The Root ninja responded, "Lord Danzo ordered you not to leave."

"Danzo's a damn chicken—"

Before Might Guy could finish yelling, Root agents rushed toward him.

Kakashi sighed, lifting his forehead protector and revealing his Sharingan. His voice was calm, his presence deadly:

"Then don't blame me if you get hurt."

Kakashi, Might Guy, Kurenai, and Asuma—all top-tier ninjas—were now surrounded by a small army of Root operatives.

Though outnumbered, their strength could overpower the Root team in a direct fight.

The real problem was their hesitation.

They didn't want to kill fellow Konoha shinobi.

They weren't from the Blood Mist Village, raised in cruelty and betrayal. They were softer. Merciful.

And because of that, none of them could break through in time to disable the barrier or help Logan.

Danzo glanced at the four combatants.

Everything was unfolding exactly as planned.

Now for the final move.

"Ninjutsu team—action!"

Deep in the darkness, dozens of hands formed seals in unison.

"Earth Style: Yellow Spring Swamp!"

"Wind Style: Tornado Hurricane!"

"Water Style: Water Severing Wave!"

"Fire Style: Great Flame Bomb!"

Massive jutsu exploded out from all directions.

Kakashi's eyes widened. "Joint Ninjutsu?!"

Joint Ninjutsu—dozens of shinobi casting the same jutsu at once to exponentially boost power and scale.

And this wasn't just one kind of jutsu. Root had mixed four elements—earth, wind, water, and fire—into a seamless combination.

A swamp spread under Logan and the others. Its surface shimmered with oil, thick and sticky, binding their feet.

Then came the tornado and the fire.

The flames fed the storm. The water spread the oil, turning the wind into a spiraling inferno.

A massive fire tornado took form—nearly 100 meters tall and 30 meters wide.

"Super Fire Dragon Storm."

Danzo's trump card.

"You're powerful," he muttered, staring down at Logan, "but you still have one fatal flaw."

"You have no way to deal with large-scale attacks."

He pointed at the inferno. "No one can survive this. Not unless they're a tailed beast."

Inside that maelstrom, fire, wind, and blades of water would shred a human to pulp in less than a second.

Logan couldn't dodge. He couldn't blow it up. He couldn't fly out.

This was the end.

Danzo stood atop a rooftop and sneered:

"In the end, you're just a mortal."

---

"Mads! They're all insane!" Konan shouted, holding Sasuke close.

She looked at Logan. He hadn't moved.

"Run, Logan! Why are you just standing there?!"

She knew the odds of escaping were slim, but they couldn't just wait for death.

"Logan!"

Kakashi cried out, forming hand seals.

"Raikiri!"

He surged forward like lightning, aiming to grab Logan and flee.

But—

Konan opened her paper wings, only for them to catch fire and fall away before they could flap.

The storm's heat was too intense.

Kakashi, halfway across the field, staggered in the gale.

There was no escape.

Danzo muttered:

"I'm sorry, Logan. We have no personal grudges… but for the future of Konoha—please die."

Konan stared at the raging tornado.

"So much power… how many ninjas did Danzo summon?!"

Despair swallowed her heart.

Then she felt a small, warm hand grasp hers.

Sasuke's voice whispered:

"It's okay, Sister Konan. Big Brother Logan is here, and he's…"

He looked at Logan's back, eyes gleaming.

"…invincible."

"Invincible…?" Konan echoed, stunned.

There's no such thing as invincibility. No shinobi could—

And then she saw Logan raise his hand.

The rain stopped.

And with it—

So did the Fire Dragon Storm.
