Chapter 1009 Run!-1
It only took another half an hour to weave through the city to arrive at the apartment complex where Kayla and Mayra lived. He already phoned them beforehand about his arrival but it really puzzled him greatly hearing them not as enthusiastic about it as much as he liked them to be.
Their voices seemed drained and reserved which was not how they usually act. He thought there was some trouble but soon drained that thought out. If something were to go wrong, he was sure his people would inform him about it after all they were keeping an eye on every one of his acquaintances as a part of ramping up the security.
Beside, Kayla was a detective there was no way she wouldn't be defending herself knowing what he had been up to these past couple of days. He parked the car and headed up the elevator straight to their floor.
He did spot few inconsistencies along the way, like spotting few expensive cars in the neighbourhood. They were not parked in their apartment complex but it was near enough for him to notice. Although it was a wealthy neighbourhood, he knew the neighbours weren't that wealthy to own a Rolls Royce. It might be someone rich visiting the place so he ignored it.
Coming up to the door, he rang the doorbell half expecting the little doll to rush to his arms. After all he had been away for a week and she might be feeling grumpy but he was a master at coaxing the little angel. He already prepared her favorite snacks and brought one of the new toys from her favorite cartoon.
It that didn't work he could think of other things but he knew that she couldn't be mad at him for too long. Beside, he already informed her that he would be away because of work. The little girl still didn't know what this work was but he simply told her that it was something he needed to do because of the castle that he bought. He was able to fool her at that time so he wasn't worried about it.
" Coming!" He heard a faint cry. It was Mayra so he simply put the things behind his back expecting a big hug from her.
The door opened only to see her fidgeting at the other end of it. She looked uncomfortable for some reason.
" What's the matter? Don't I get a hug? I even prepared to be tackled to the ground like usual." He said with a chuckle but Mayra didn't move, not daring to face him.
Soon, he saw Kayla come from behind. She wasn't faring much better, she too looked distressed. His brow furrowed as he walked inside, he looked around to see that even Kayla's grandmother was there sitting in the living room enjoying her afternoon tea.
" What happened? Is Elise alright?" He quickly put down the things he brought and went to grab Mayra's shoulder and asked.
" Calm down. Everything is alright. She is upstairs." Kayla patted his shoulder seeing him react so abruptly. But he could tell that there was a hesitation in her voice which was not normal.
" Are you sure? I will go see her." He said but Kayla suddenly stopped him.
" You guys are scaring me." He looked at all three of them not knowing what to say. Their odd behavior was definitely getting to him.
" Tell me, I can tell there is something wrong."
" It's....I don't know how to tell you." Mayra said finally releasing the breath she didn't know she was holding.
" She is right. We don't know what to say. Something did happen today but it's too....abrupt to say what would happen. We don't know what to say." Kayla chimed in with the same tone.
Whatever they said was only making things worse, he looked at the Grandma for answers but she just shook her head not willing to get involved with whatever was going on. Suddenly, he heard faint giggling of Elise coming from upstairs but there was definitely another voice mixed with her voice.
" Do you have guest? Didn't Helga and other left already?" He asked.
" That's another issue that we have to talk about. While Roberta and Alana did leave, Helga and Katarina stayed behind. They wanted to talk to you and knew that you were coming today." Kayla added.
" But they are not here, I opened another apartment for them to live in. I think it would be good to have them stay with us here since they would be joining the industry. We made similar offer to other two but they said that they would think about it and left." Mayra told the rest.
" Oh? Isn't it good? Elise like them so it would be nice if she could see them from time to time." Samuel was surprised as he didn't know about it but this shouldn't let these three to act like this after all it was good news right?
After all, Helga and Katarina were nice girls and wouldn't disrupt the serene atmosphere of the neighbourhood. Beside, there weren't many people that could rent an apartment in this place but it wouldn't be a problem for two of them. Right now they might not be making much money but within a year, he was sure they would be famous enough to have substantial wealth enough for them to live comfortably.
" Wait! You said they aren't here so who is playing with Elise?" He suddenly thought about it. Just as he suspected, they averted their gaze when he asked them the question. He was getting tired of their mysterious tone so he started to walk upstairs.
" Wait! You shouldn't go there!"
" Sami!" Both of them cried out his name while Grandma looked at two of them finally amused seeing Samuel's back. She never would have imagined that these two troublemakers were so good at acting, they even fooled Samuel so easily and thought this act also told him about Helga and Katarina's situation.
Both girls were distressed how they were going to break the news to him but they would never have thought that it would be this easy!

Samuel who quietly opened the door was ready to confront the person who was making his girls unhappy. As soon as he saw the figure sitting together with Elise, the only thought in his mind was to run. Yes, run, the person was someone he feared greatly.
He thought he was sneaky but just as he was about to turn their eyes met. He knew he was finished. Just from looking at other person's expression he knew he was in for a world of hurt!
" Samuel Rothschild!" A thundering voice came which even reached the girls downstairs. Hearing their loud laughter and giggle he knew he was had. The great Samuel Rothschild was deceived so badly no one would believe it!
