Chapter 1194: Situation

"We tried everything. I don't know, but there is nothing we can do. They are in deep coma, and we don't know when they will wake up." The doctor delivered some bad news to Robert Green, who had already started losing his mind. The injured bodyguard, who was showing signs of recovery, suddenly fell into a coma. Even he knew someone was trying to silence them so that he would learn about the person who attacked his second son, Terry. Jane and her team were responsible for it. They acted fast when they heard about the possibility and used their connection to administer a particular compound that would keep the patient in a suspended coma without harming their health. They could have killed them, but it wouldn't be right. Justice would come to them when their crimes were made public, so even if they woke up, they wouldn't be able to escape jail. "What about my son? How is he?" Robert's wife was more concerned about their youngest. The father was partial toward the older one, Clark, while the mother loved the youngest son, Terry. It was a weird dynamic, but it worked for them for years. "Thats...We are afraid we are not able to do anything. I don't know what type of person your son was attacked by, but I can confidently say they had extensive knowledge of the human body. Only specific areas had been targeted that are too hard or, in some cases, impossible to reverse. His hands and legs have great chances to heal, but what we are worried about is his spine." "This cannot be happening. You... we can pay you any amount of money; aren't you a world-renowned specialist? How can you not give us any proper answers!?" "Ma'am, I am doing my best. I have never seen a case like this before so we have to." " No! You are fired. I want another specialist for my son. We have to heal him at any cost!" The wife was hysterical at this point, so Robert had to hold her in his arms. He knew there was something wrong with everything; no matter how much he tried, nothing seemed to be working out for him. "What about his..you know." "That is a lost cause. It's too badly damaged for him to function properly again. I am afraid no doctor on earth could ever cure him." The doctor seemed very confident when they talked about his groin area. Samuel did destroy it because Terry threatened Kate and wanted to take her with him, which was unacceptable for him. By this point, his wife had completely lost it. For the whole three days she hadn't eaten or drank properly, which made her look sick herself. Robert was trying everything in his power using his connections in the police force and the government, but his 'friends' were also coming up empty-handed. He even contacted the underground forces, all of them that he could find, and offered handsome rewards to both locate Clark and find out who beat up his second son, but so far there was no news! His upright and stern persona began to crumble, especially when he started finding out that his first son might have fled the country. People did bring out that only Clark seemed to have a motive for both the theft and to assualt his own brother; after all, they never went along since they were kids. Robert would lord over his brother, making him feel inferior, which might be the reason why he turned out to be like this—someone who is indulgent in a myriad of addictions, from gambling to drugs! He knew about everything, which was why he felt like his second son was a failure! Seeing they weren't asking more questions, the doctor left with a sad smile on his face. Robert also told him not to mind his wife's words, and he would soon get in touch with more people that would be arriving to assist the team. He knew he needed to get the best team of doctors, and intimidating them would not work in his favor. He was a smart man, or else he wouldn't be at the height he is currently at. "You promised me you would find the person who did this to my son, and it's been days, so why don't I have his head yet?" She turned ferocious with tears in her eyes, which made her look crazy. "I have been having some trouble. I think it's something big, so I need to investigate; beside, we also have to find Clark; he must know something." "What does he know?! He didn't even come here to see his brother and vanished! What do you make of this? You always favor him, which may be why he doesn't care about anything but business, just like you!" She hit his chest hard, making him tumble backwards. He knew he didn't have anything with which he could retort her, but he wasn't ready to entertain the idea that his first son betrayed the family. That would be the worst scenario possible! Soon a verbal fight began with each unloading every little problem in their marriage and day-to-day life. Such was the fate of marriages; during rough storms, it's often the past words that thundered the loudest! Each had a lot to say about one another, so much so that the nurses had to intervene and put them in a separate room so that they could resolve their difficulties. The whole section was booked by Robert, so his son was the only patient there. They paid for it, so they might as well use it! Suddenly, Robert's phone rang. He was going to put it on silent as he had a lot to say to his wife, but when he saw the caller ID, he froze. His wife, who was still yelling, also glanced, and upon seeing the ID, she immediately stopped talking, knowing how important it was. Robert held the phone to his ear with trembling hands, which was because he was happy to finally receive this particular call that he had been waiting for days!
