I'm Alan Arjo. Right now, I'm panicking because I could feel my carefully constructed world collapsing right before my eye. I was born into a family most could only dream of so I took advantage of it at every chance I got.

The world's greatest luxury goods group was founded by my family. Since childhood, while others thought about what to wear and how to present themselves, I had a team who took care of my wardrobe. I wore nothing but designer clothes still I never remember wearing any sets of clothes twice.

Since my childhood, my father had always been strict with me telling me that I had to follow the family business and make it prosperous just like him.

Simultaneously, he never denied me anything. I was an only child which meant she showered me with love if one could call it that but I knew if I wanted something he would go above and beyond to give it to me.

By the time, I knew about relationships between men and women many supermodels and school belles were throwing themselves at me just because I am his son. They voluntarily dedicated themselves to please me because they saw my future at the helm of LVHM Group.

I got everything going my way right up to the point when I discovered my sister. She had been quite and a lot younger than me but I never took her seriously.

When she started flourishing in business, people began calling her preposterous names like born businesswoman, rising star in fashion Industry and so on.

She was my nightmare, a rude awakening that I was not good enough. I was constantly compared to her at her every achievement. No matter how much I tried, I could never compare to her. Still I knew as the eldest and only son sooner or later I will be the true heir of my father. She could never surpass me despite having superior qualities.

Fortunately, my father still loved me enough to take me under his wings. He taught me everything about running the business and giving out orders to do my bidding. He introduced me to Alexis granting me enough funds to fight my sister. I knew people were not happy being the successor buy it didn't matter as long as I had my way.

They were just jealous of my achievements trying to undermine me every chance they got but I would be victorious in the end as long as my father supported me.

However, my sister never faulted, sometimes I wonder why god gave me such a capable sister, it was not fair!

Tonight was going to be my highlight, my father already told me that he was finally ready to retire leaving everything in my hand to manage. This was one time, I could show that I was better than my sister!

The winning process might be crude and unfair but that's what I had to go through ever since she xame in my life. I am willing to pay any price just to one up her. Beside everything was fair in love and war!

However, just as I was knocking on the victory's door, my good sister found someone I consider the most dangerous being in the world, the fucking heir of Rothschild family.

My previous gray advantage instantly turned into Bpack and white with half anf half chance of me coming out on top. I even feared for his life because I too knew the rumours. It was evident he was following the footsteps of his mother who was once called the demoness for her ruthlessness.

I looked at my father who somehow seemed pleased with my sister. It was unacceptable which really turned my world insode out. Will he really abandon me?

So what it was Rothschilds, it was family matters. He has no right to interfere in their internal matters!

My only hope was that father would do something about it and put an end to this farce. I have to stay beside him trying to make him believe he is making the right move!

I could also feel this bitch Alexis already knew about it. She had been quiet ever since he arrived. I have to admit he looks good but she was suppose to be my ally not look at like I was some trash laying on the street that she could discard first chance she got!

" Everyone, please be quiet. I have an announcement to make!" Bernard took to the stage again ready to deliver his closing remarks.

" I think everyone is aware of today's significance. LVHM has decades of history and its my honor that along the way I have opportunity to meet some like minded people. Which was why I wanted to share some important news to everyone." He paused gathering everyone's attention.

" Tonight's banquet is the stage to announce that I will be stepping down in few years handing over my responsibilities to my heir. I have already decided whom I am handing over my responsibilities to." He said in a serious tone.

Alan felt his father's gaze which made hi happy but he also glanced at his sister and Samuel. He didn't know why his father was making things so mysterious, wasn't it already decided he was the chosen one?

Delphina who was cheerful up until now knew she had to make her stand. She wasn't happy about it, she respected her father a lot but in recent years he seemed to have lost his edge prioritising her brother over her.

She just couldn't understand why? Was the stupid tradition so important that he let go of his business integrity? If her brother was better than her, she would have gladly accepted her father's decision but now she had to rebel not just for her but for her people and all who worked for the Group!

She might idolize her father since childhood but this time she knew he was wrong. It would be idiotic not to correct his mistakes!

" Come on, you have to have some confidence. Where is that charming business lady I first met? If you tried you can surely surpass your father. Just believe in yoursel." Samuel patted her back feeling her tension.

She smiled and nodded seeing everyone support her decision. She knew what she had to do.

" Now, I am going to announce the heir of the LVHM group-" Just as Bernard was mentioning the name Delphina stood up.

" Father, I am against your decision." She shouted making her presence known to all the guests.

The original quiet scene started boiling again sensing an upcoming family drama! They never knew she would be so bold in front of ao many distinguished guests. That's goes to show her determination.

" Delphina, what are you trying to do? Are you going to oppose father's decision in front of everyone?" Alan was next to stand up, fury evident in his eyes. He was almost yelling at her. Read new chapters at empire

Alan looked around seeing everyone's contemptuous gazes, they were openly mocking him just like his sister. He even heard few snickering from behind, that was where his supporters sat. Was he so hopeless that his own faction was mocking him?

Even Alexis distanced herself since she knew her work was done. When Delphina drops the bombshell, she would leave the scum to finally join her side.

Alan was angry, so angry that it was boiling over. The dumb bitch was so carefree like she didn't even care about her investments. She was already heavily invested, probably more than few billions! If he lost wouldn't it hinder all her carefully prepared plan?

Everyone watched the classic civil war between two giants. Bernard looked at his daughter while squinting trying to understand her next move. Alan was only a supporting role ready to be sacrificed for the plot to progress!

" Delphina, my dear daughter, can't it wait until I make my announcement?" he said with a sigh with a hint of discomfort on his face.

" No, father, I can't let you do that known fully what is your decision but I have to prioritise the company's future." She refused to give in.

" Oh, tell me my dear daughter, what's the best for everyone?Do you want me to tell you Alan isn't right for this position? Or you want to tell me you have some late support? Yiu know fully it would not change the outcome.I am quite eager for you to share your perspective." He was quite satisfied with her stubbornness.

Atleast she was not wallowing in self pity and fighting back even when facing him head on!

" No father, I am not talking about heirs." She directly rejected his question.

" Huh? What then?" For the first time in a ling time, Bernard felt things were out of his control.

" I want to convene a shareholder's meeting to dismiss the chairman of the LVHM group and appoint myself to become the new chairwoman!" her voice detonated like a bomb throughout the whole venue.
