Hollywood:Starting out as an MV director

Chapter 146: Chapter 146: The Execution Scene

"Damn it! It's all your fault, you local fool!" Big D had been on edge for the past two days, constantly looking over his shoulder as a group of people seemed to be searching for them.

Initially, they didn't think much of it. When approached by strangers, Kabigo casually gave out his real name. The next second, they saw the strangers—a group of Black men—reaching for their waists, seemingly ready to attack.

The gesture nearly scared Big D out of his wits. He quickly pulled out his gun, firing a shot to cause chaos before escaping the crowded bar.

Kabigo followed closely, no longer daring to stray even a step away from Big D.

Since then, the two had been nervously hiding in a motel, even taking extreme caution when stepping out to buy necessities.

The timid Kabigo suggested they buy tickets and leave, but Big D refused to accept defeat. His brothers were in jail, and returning empty-handed would only make him a laughingstock on the West Coast.

He had to regain some dignity. After careful thought, he decided to target Ethan.

Big D believed their previous troubles were likely due to the gang backing Jay-Z's group. Ethan, however, seemed like an easy target to intimidate and establish dominance. If it weren't for Ethan's film crew, his brothers wouldn't have been arrested.

He had Kabigo reach out to some old connections in the area to gather information. They learned Ethan was currently shooting a new movie nearby in one of the factories.

With this intel, they immediately set out, searching factory after factory.

After a fruitless day, with the sun setting, Big D couldn't hold back his frustration and cursed Kabigo.

"This isn't my fault! My guys couldn't get into Ethan's crew either…" Kabigo retorted, equally exasperated.

Big D responded with a punch to Kabigo's chest. "Bullshit! If you hadn't suggested messing with Beyoncé, we'd still be partying in a hotel right now!"

Kabigo lowered his head, not daring to argue back. He knew his reputation was in ruins in New York, labeled a traitor by the gangs. If he didn't stay on Big D's good side, there would be no place for him on the West Coast either.

Seeing Kabigo's submission, Big D snorted disdainfully and gave him a smack on the head before moving on.

Eventually, as the sun dipped below the horizon, they spotted a brightly lit factory. The yard was packed with vehicles, scaffolding, and lighting rigs, clearly part of a film set.

"This is the place!" Kabigo whispered confidently, shrinking back after peeking inside. "Ethan and his crew must be in there. But what do we do once we get inside?"

Without a clear plan, Big D thought for a moment before replying, "We sneak in through the back wall, pretend to be crew members, find Ethan, and kidnap him."

"Kidnap him? Why?" Kabigo asked, puzzled.

"For money, of course!" Big D snarled, his frustration boiling over. "We'll demand $200,000. If he doesn't pay, we'll break one of his legs!"

"But what about the cops?"

"The cops? They won't know who did it! Just keep quiet and don't give anything away!"

This time, Big D intended to execute his plan professionally. Kabigo, though hesitant, clutched his handgun for reassurance and nodded.

With masks on, they climbed over the back wall and dropped into the yard. Almost immediately, they heard approaching footsteps and voices.

"Have you seen the director?"

"He should be in Room A7."

Big D shushed Kabigo, and they hid behind some oil drums, crouching low.

Two crew members walked past the drums, their conversation drifting into the ears of the hidden duo.

"Room A7? Isn't that not a shooting location?"

"Yeah, but the director loves tinkering with his new toys there."

"Haha, I wonder who the unlucky guy is this time."

"Probably Frank. He got chewed out for slacking on set. Mistakes come with consequences."

"Yeah, consequences. Just hope it's not too messy this time. Last time, it took me over 20 minutes to wash the floor."

Big D and Kabigo exchanged uneasy glances.

Kabigo whispered nervously, "Uh, did I hear 'bloody' and 'consequences'…?"

Big D dismissed him. "They're talking about filming. We know Ethan's in Room A7. Let's go."

The two crept along the corridors, which were mostly deserted as the crew had wrapped up for the day.

Reaching the building, they moved through dim hallways lined with closed doors. Through the frosted glass panels, it was impossible to see what lay beyond. The shelves along the walls displayed bizarre instruments of torture and bones—both human and animal—some still stained with blood.

Kabigo sniffed the air, catching the damp, musty scent mixed with a faint hint of blood.

"What kind of movie is this?" he muttered uneasily.

"Probably a crappy one," Big D replied dismissively, giving Kabigo a shove. "We're here."

Kabigo looked up to see the red-marked "A7" on the wall. His legs felt like jelly.

"Are we really just walking in?" he asked, turning to Big D.

"Of course! This is the only door. Get in there, grab the director, and let's go!"

"Okay, okay…" Trembling, Kabigo raised his gun and slowly pushed the door open.

The creak of the door echoed through the eerily silent factory.

Inside, it was deathly quiet. Big D shoved Kabigo inside, stepping in behind him.

What greeted them was beyond anything they could have imagined.

In the center of the room, a shirtless Black man was strapped to a jet-black crucifix-like contraption, seemingly unconscious. Gears pierced his limbs, with blood trickling down to the floor.

"WTF! God Almighty!" Kabigo froze, staring wide-eyed before looking to Big D for answers.

Big D, equally stunned, couldn't say a word.

"What the hell is going on?!" Kabigo muttered, instinctively reaching for the door. But it clicked shut, locking them in.

"Damn it! What's happening?!"

Big D felt his earlier confidence unraveling. This wasn't some "toy"; it was a full-on torture device!

The room had no cameras or crew—this wasn't a film set. Could Ethan be some kind of deranged serial killer?

Before they could dwell on the thought, a nearby TV flickered to life. A grotesque white puppet appeared onscreen, its blood-red eyes and spiral cheek marks lending it a sinister air.

Sitting on a tricycle, it spoke, "Good evening, gentlemen. I'd like to play a game…"

"Play your damn game!"

"Bang!"

Kabigo watched in shock as Big D shot the TV, shattering the screen. "You didn't even let him finish!"

"What's there to hear?! We're here to kidnap Ethan! And now we've stumbled onto some sick scene. All your fault, you local idiot!"

Big D's fury boiled over as he fired blindly at the door, which refused to budge.

At that moment, the man strapped to the device groaned.

"Who's there?!" Kabigo pointed his gun at the man as Big D turned to look.

"Help me!" the man pleaded weakly, trying to escape but bound tightly to the machine.

But before they could react, the gears on his right arm began turning.

"What the hell is this?!" Kabigo froze, horrified as the device began twisting the man's arm.

Realizing they couldn't just stand by, the two rushed to help. "How do we stop this thing?!"

Big D circled the machine, unable to find a switch. In desperation, he raised his gun to shoot the gears.

"Don't shoot!" the man croaked, spitting blood. "It'll release poison gas! Find the key!"

"Poison gas?!" Big D cursed loudly but lowered his gun.

The two began frantically searching the room, but within seconds, the sound of bones snapping filled the air.

They turned to see the machine completely mangling the man's arm, blood gushing everywhere.

The man's anguished screams echoed through the room, while Kabigo collapsed to the floor, shaking.

Big D, panicked, pulled out his phone and called 911, yelling, "Get to the factory now! There's a psycho killer here! He just ripped a guy's arm off right in front of us! Hurry!"
