Chapter 224: Bella: Queen, Save Me!
Noldrei helped Bella change back.
The little dragon cried quite pitifully. It seemed she had been putting on a show with her friends, finally showing some signs of improvement, only to be met with Tesla's iron fist, experiencing the Herrscher's might with a WHAM! WHAM!
After being taken away, she endured inhumane experiments, but the end result was a success.
Bella was transformed into an ordinary male human with few abilities.
The poor Herrscher of the Void couldn't even protect her own subordinate, forced to watch as Tesla shoved the little dragon into the gender-transformation organ.
Since her birth, when had Bella ever suffered such humiliation?
She was a Judgment-class Honkai Beast!
Now she finally understood what it meant to "live long enough and you'll see everything." Any experience was possible.
Kiana was comforting her little dragon. She probably hadn't expected Bella to be bullied like this by another Herrscher after leaving her side.
"Tesla! You went too far! We're both Herrschers, how could you bully the Herrscher of the Void's subordinate?!"
Tesla, now dressed, didn't think there was anything wrong with experimenting on a Honkai beast.
After all, Bella, unlike Walter Joyce, hadn't proven herself a beneficial character to humanity.
"Yeah, yeah… I know, I know. Next time I'll bully her when the Herrscher of the Void isn't around. That mutt ruined my Silver Bullet back then, serves her right! Who knew the Herrscher of the Void was still holding her when we captured her?"
Tesla held a grudge. It seemed she blamed Bella for the Second Eruption.
She'd make sure to get payback for all the trouble Anti-Entropy went through.
"I've already shown her immense mercy by not using her as a genetic reconstruction experiment subject. How dare she make trouble in front of the Third Herrscher? The nerve!"
'She's so arrogant now?!' Bronya couldn't believe how unrestrained Tesla had become after turning into a Herrscher.
'Does becoming a Herrscher change your personality?'
Kiana was furious. After all, Bella called her "Queen."
"Are you really going to make a fuss over this little thing? If you push it, I'll camp her doorstep every single day!"
Tesla declared she would retaliate. She was certain Kiana couldn't protect her subordinate.
This infuriated Kiana, who was ready to start a "royal war" with Tesla right then and there.
Fortunately, Fu Hua, the voice of reason, pulled back the hot-headed Kiana, advising her to focus on mastering her own abilities instead of picking fights.
"Instead of dueling Tesla, I suggest you focus on learning how to use your body. It's debatable whether you can even beat her. Tesla probably can't kill you, but she can definitely annoy you to death, while you can't do the same to her."
Kiana reluctantly abandoned the idea of a fight.
She wasn't that eager to fight, but sometimes things were just too infuriating.
"Bronya, let's play video games!"
'Can't bully Tesla, so you're bullying Bronya instead?!' Bronya was numb.
If it weren't for Rita's generous compensation, she would have run away by now.
"Dr. Tesla, there's a lot of news about you online."
Raiden Mei had grown accustomed to the commotion in the house. Since nobody could actually die, she let them be. Noldrei didn't care, so why should she, a mere housekeeper?
Besides practicing her swordsmanship and taking online classes, she rarely paid attention to anything else.
"Huh? What good could they be saying about me?" Tesla hadn't been online much. She knew her reputation had tanked after the gender-freedom device was released.
Some even called her a Honkai spy.
Ridiculous. She was a future person spy.
Mei scrolled through her phone, surprised. "There's a crowdfunding link online to build a Tesla Shrine."
"What?!" Tesla flipped off the sofa and landed next to Mei.
She saw the news about her shrine on Mei's phone. In the comments, a bunch of "brothers" were donating money to the Tesla Shrine.
"What are they trying to do? Those weirdos at the research institute kept bothering me, and now this? What's with these Far East people?!" Tesla couldn't imagine her statue sitting in a shrine. It felt like an insult to her identity as a scientist.
"Huh? What happened at the research institute?" Mei was curious. It had been a while since she caught up on the outside world.
Tesla recalled, "It's strange. After the news was released, someone actually came to me. But the issue wasn't about changing genders. A man came and asked if I could make him pretty without changing his gender."
"What do you mean?" Mei didn't quite understand.
"He said he wanted to be feminine but didn't want periods… so he asked me if I could turn him into a 'pretty boy.'" [I've kept "pretty boy" here as it seems to best capture the intended meaning and is a recognized term, even though it leans slightly towards existing slang.]
Tesla still remembered the researcher's expression when he submitted the report.
Mei's expression also turned subtle, as if she had heard something incredible.
She asked curiously, "So, can you turn him into a… pretty boy?"
"Theoretically, yes, but it requires two transformations. First, he becomes a woman, then he changes back to a man, and we readjust his appearance during the second transformation."
Tesla's answer surprised even Fu Hua.
Fu Hua stepped forward and asked, "Why not do it in one go?"
Tesla thought seriously for a moment and said, "Because genetic information is incredibly complex. The human body, despite its apparent fragility, is a chaotic system with a far higher fault tolerance than a computer chip. That's why sentient life like humans could even be born."
She pointed to Bella. "Honkai beasts may seem strong, but their bodies have a very low fault tolerance. A single error in a Honkai factor can cause them to disintegrate. Humans, on the other hand, can withstand minor genetic mutations for a long time, even with slow-growing cancers."
"This level of fault tolerance surpasses so-called Honkai life. If we're just changing external appearance, there's no need to reconfigure the underlying genetic information. While it seems risky, we did sign a waiver with that person, and he volunteered."
Fu Hua was speechless. Despite the risks, they still went through with it.
