Chapter 314: Tesla: My Perception of Reality Has Also Been Shattered!
Where did this promotional video first have its impact?
Certainly not in a parallel world, but in Noldrei's own world. This was a direct propaganda piece, and Noldrei had broadcasted it from his own doorstep.
The first to be affected were, of course, his own people. You never hear of external propaganda that doesn't affect the internal audience.
And so, Tesla was the first to receive Noldrei's promotional video.
You'd be forgiven for thinking it was a recruitment video for some kind of hell-divers.
"What is he doing?"
Tesla's mind was full of questions. "How did he transmit these images into my mind?"
How was Einstein supposed to answer that? If she knew the reason, would she still be here guarding the City of the Deep, waiting for others to return?
"Does he have any idea what kind of harm this could cause?!"
Tesla suspected that Noldrei held a grudge against her, perhaps because she had cursed at His Majesty the Emperor too many times.
Even if he were to force himself on her, he wouldn't treat her like this, would he?
"I've been so loyal, watching the house for him, and this is how he treats me?!"
Tesla was on the verge of going nuclear. In the past, Einstein would have dared to grab her and tell her to calm down. But the current Tesla was unrivaled on Earth.
Who would dare to restrain her? Weren't they afraid of being instantly carbonized?
"This is a test of the human heart... how can the people outside withstand such a test?"
Otto knew without a doubt that this was going to blow up.
Noldrei had no intention of letting humanity off easy, and it wasn't just because of the class distinction created by the vast power difference between Herrschers and humans.
He intentionally wanted to display this distinction before humanity.
"Sovereign Yang, what should we do next?"
Otto had lost the will to fight with Anti-Entropy. He knew what Noldrei's move was for. Without a doubt, it was to intensify the internal conflicts within humanity, thereby increasing the likelihood of a Herrscher that met his requirements appearing.
"This isn't a good thing, but it's not entirely bad either. In his propaganda, he never intended to play the role of a good guy. From this perspective, if we handle it properly, we can further change the image of Herrschers in the minds of humans."
Welt's idea was to make future Herrschers less hateful towards humanity, but before that...
The overall tone of the propaganda was very clear: Herrschers bring disaster. If you find a Herrscher, hand them over to His Majesty the Emperor immediately. The Emperor is more powerful than the Herrschers. As long as you obediently hand over the Herrscher, you will be granted eternal life and power.
See? Wasn't that a very positive message?
But for humanity, this was undoubtedly a shocking, global intimidation.
Who did they offend? They certainly wouldn't admit this was because of something they did.
It must have been the work of Dr. Tesla and her group. They stole the Herrschers' power, attracting the dissatisfaction of an even bigger boss.
But here's where the problem lies. Ordinary people can't deal with Herrschers, nor can they find that strange, light-based lifeform that travels the universe, devouring matter.
What should they do in this situation? Let the Herrschers destroy human civilization and not destroy them easily? Or eliminate the Herrscher while it's still weak, so that terrifying lifeform doesn't find its way here?
He was only taking the Herrschers away and would even give you benefits. This would cause a split in humanity's attitude towards dealing with Herrschers.
Those with the ability to protect themselves would surely lean towards controlling the Herrschers, while those without would lean towards eliminating them.
"Changing public opinion is very simple. We just need to let the biotechnology from Academy City out, so that more people can benefit and give up on selling out new Herrschers for power and life."
"Compared to an unknown, terrifying lifeform, our own kind is at least slightly more trustworthy. My only worry is how many people will be affected by this, and what kind of impact it will have, especially within Academy City."
"But, I'm still rather curious... why are you so sure... that it was him?"
Sovereign Yang couldn't figure it out. At first, he thought some otherworldly demon had appeared. But Tesla and Otto had quickly determined who was responsible.
"It's all because of the Herrschers. It's so obvious that he wants the Herrschers' hearts. Only he could do something like this. And to be able to do it in the Sea of Quanta... the power of a Divine Key is nothing compared to this..."
Otto marveled at the wonders of the future human body. He couldn't figure out how those images, combined with memories and emotions, could appear in a person's mind.
"It sounds like a pervert who's determined to kidnap a fair maiden..."
Einstein was worried that one day Noldrei would turn into a woman and make a move on Welt. This man from the future had absolutely no scruples when it came to sex.
"For the sake of the Herrschers, he really has no shame..." Welt also sighed. He truly hadn't expected Noldrei to act so fiercely.
He wanted to stir up internal conflict even after he left. Now, even the factions within Academy City had no choice but to unite.
This was the first time Otto had been so constrained, even when he was away from home.
But it didn't matter. He already knew how to guide the appearance of the Sixth Herrscher.
Noldrei had no idea his actions had been misunderstood. So far, no one from a parallel world had approached him.
He decided to let the feeling ferment for a while, waiting for the right moment.
Just then, Kevin suddenly mentioned something: "There are many monsters hidden in the Sea of Quanta. Some of them should have their own consciousness."
It wasn't strange for life to appear in the chaotic quantum realm, because the root of life's consciousness was itself chaotic and disordered.
Bronya was slightly startled and quickly asked, "Is it very dangerous in the Sea of Quanta?"
Kevin didn't really know how to answer. For him, there was nothing in here that could threaten him.
"I'm not sure. I haven't encountered any danger." Kevin's answer did not reassure Bronya; instead, it made her more anxious.
The power of this Kaslana predecessor was clear to see. His "not sure" definitely meant it was dangerous.
"Something's coming... is it a Quantum Shadow?"
Durandal frowned, carefully observing her surroundings.
In this region without a concept of space, there existed a monster called the Quantum Shadow.
"What the hell, why are there tentacles here too?!"
Kiana was shocked and immediately transformed back into her slime form.
Kevin was also shocked. Just a moment ago, he could feel the Stigma power of a fellow Kaslana, and now, right before his eyes, she had undergone a genetic leopard-like transformation.
"Have the descendants of Kaslana already developed to this extent in my absence?!"
The ancestor was completely bewildered, watching as the slime charged towards the Quantum Shadow.
And then, it ate the Quantum Shadow...
"You can eat that too?!"
Bronya was starting to have her doubts. Was Noldrei really a legendary human from the future?
Eating physical matter was one thing, but how could you eat these strange quantum lifeforms too?
