Chapter 383: Reminiscing of The Far Past II
[Warning: Disturbing Content Ahead]
(Drakken's POV)
"It was brutal." I said, "It was a brutal few minutes. I used these bare hands, which were much smaller back then, I used them to rip their faces and throats apart while they tried to fight back. There was blood everywhere, the disturbing sounds of them gasping for their lives resounded throughout the room. The entire floor was stained red, and there was nothing but the sight of their lifeless corpses after I was done."
They didn't say a word, they simply stared at me. They were waiting for me to continue but I could tell that they were somewhat unsettled by what they had just heard. I don't blame them; it was not a pretty thing to hear.
"It's surprising to hear now...after everything you've experienced with me...but I felt no joy from that." I said, "I felt nothing. I merely did what I thought was right: to kill them before they harmed the woman. The woman who I was starting to think was the most important thing in my life at that time. She was vulnerable, we both were....and in order to survive, one of us had to do something. So I took that initiative....and I killed the men...."
I sighed and finished the rest of the wine, gulping it down. The fact that I am speaking about these memories it is very surreal. I didn't speak much about them with my brothers, who I didn't meet until after all of that had happened.
"When she came to....she saw me standing there, covered in blood, my own and theirs..." I continued, "The first thing she did in response was check if I was alright. She bathed me, cleaned my wound, and we both realized one thing: I was not normal. The wound I had received was already closed and I saw it in her eyes, the Fear. She was beginning to feel more afraid of me. At that moment, she was more afraid of me than the men who raped her. I didn't know how to feel about that, but as long as she was okay, I didn't care. After we tossed the men in a nearby river, the Woman scolded me about not eating, acting more concerned than anything."
I still remember her. Her warm eyes and her beautiful long hair....her scent was also vivid in my memory. That woman, at the first stage of my lifespan, was everything to me.
"The villagers began to shun us. After it happened." I kept speaking, "They thought of me as a demon and the woman as a witch who summoned me. But considering that for weeks, nobody bothered the village, they didn't do much to us. They thought of it as a balance; to house an evil meant to ward off greater evils. During the period after that, we only had each other. And we waited.....for her husband and the others...and while we waited, we became closer. That woman....I didn't know what I felt for her....Perhaps I became attached because she showed me the same care the dog did...I simply didn't know at the time...."
"She showed you care and affection. Something you hadn't received up until that point, Drakken." Maegelle said, "That is something big for someone who went through the things you did...."
"Right.....that is right." I said with a slight smile, "We both endured great hardships afterwards...one day, an actual witch and her assistants.....they came to the village, seeking out something. In return of allowing them to stay, she gave them food that would last a month along with a bit of gold that would buy them more food. The village elder was more than happy to accept, so long as they didn't cause trouble.....and well.....that is exactly what happened....."
"What?" Mya asked, "W-What did she do?"
"The witch was quite the pretty one." I said with a slight smile, "She had long black hair and dark eyes....like yours, Mya.....she was voluptuous.....and was a fine woman...."
"Oh." She said softly
"Her assistants were girls no older than 16 at the time. I don't remember their faces well...but they were petite and somewhat tall." I continued, "And for some reason, the moment the witch and the girls saw me.....they had an unusual glint to their eyes. The Witch offered the Woman a hundred gold coins and a giant boar in exchange for me. It was quite the offer, one that only a fool would refuse. A giant boar would feed the village for an entire years and it was not something that could easily be passed...but the Woman felt something was off....and she refused.....this did not sit well with the Witch and she told her that she would regret it."
"What did she do?" Saera asked with a scowl, "Why did she want you?"
"Later that night, I was woken up by a loud sound." I said, "I was sleeping in the Woman's room, ever since the incident with her rape. She felt safer with me over time, so she would ask me to be with her. But that night, I woke up and saw that one of the witch's assistants was pinning her down to the ground, pulling her hair up as she was forced to look at me. The Woman was crying, not wanting to see what was happening. I was confused, very confused. I asked myself, 'Why is she crying? What is happening?', but little did I know that the Witch was atop me...having her way with me."
"W-What?!" Mya exclaimed, "What do you mean?!"
"The first time I experienced Sorcery. She had used a spell to keep me paralyzed and made my member erect. I was a young boy, too young for any sane adult to ever look at in that manner. But that didn't stop the Witch. She wanted me...so she did." I said as I looked down, "And for hours, both her and the other girls would have their way with me, choking me while they did that....they beat me.....they bit me.....they did things to me that I don't like remembering....all while she watched. Quite ironic, isn't it? Too messed up to have happened, haha.....I watched the Woman get raped by soldiers....and not too long after, she watched me get raped by a Witch and her apprentices....."
Maegelle began to shed tears, trying to hold back her sobbing, "No..." She said, "T-That's not right....."
"After a few days of all of that, the Witch and her apprentices left. I had no idea why she would even do that. What was the point? Did she see something in me that nobody else did? I was so confused....." I continued, "But the truth is....both those incidents disturbed both of us in ways that could not be spoken. A certain...well, connection formed. Her husband and the others were still gone, in a War. The villagers still didn't like us.....All we had was each other.....and we found comfort in that fact."
I smiled slightly, feeling fond of that time. As momentary as it was, it was quite a fond memory of her.
"Not long after, the Husband returned." I said, "But without the other children. It was not something the Woman wanted to deal with but it turned out that the others died in an ambush, the army's camp was attacked viciously, and they were caught up in it. The Husband and the squad he was a part of were given a few months off; The Royal Army had managed to push back the enemy momentarily so he returned home. The Village was getting their pieces back together and that brighter future was closer than ever....."
"So....things got better?" Mya asked me
"In a way. The Husband was a bit more accepting of me, thanking me of keeping his wife safe." I nodded, "And after a while, the two of them decided to conceive a child. But.....right after she was pregnant, he was called back to battle. So he had no choice but to leave, knowing that if he and the other men did not answer the call, funding for the village would disappear and it would leave them back in poverty. After he left, the Woman and I were patiently waiting for him."
"Did....something happen?" Maegelle asked, wiping the tears off
"Something did happen." I said, "After a few months, we were told that the squadron he was a part of was completely annihilated and that he and the other men were believed dead. It devastated her....so much so that she was depressed for weeks. I didn't know what to do so I tried my best to comfort her...."
"Oh no...." Saera said softly, a bit of sympathy in her voice
"I don't know what happened that day, what had gotten into her..." I said softly, "This was not something that a Woman as decent as her would do....but when I comforted her.....well.....we kissed. It was something that even I was shocked by. Maybe she was not in her right mind.....maybe something in her changed....but.....it happened....and the suppressed feelings that were deep in me....well, they were released....and I kissed her back. A young boy, attracted to a beautiful woman who had the.....glow....of a mother...."
"Oh." Mya said softly, "Drakken...."
"It is a horrible thing." I said, "But.....in my mind, a grown woman already had me, so what harm could another one do? And she allowed herself...she was so deep in her despair, her sorrow, the pain of losing her loved one was not something she wanted to deal with, so she allowed herself to be taken by this young boy. And well.....I had her...and....for the first time in my life.....I felt....loved...."
"Drakken, that is....." Maegelle said, "That is not..."
"For a few nights, I had her." I said as i looked down, "And every night, I would go a bit harder....it got to the point, where I could not control myself. I was disturbed, I was affected greatly by the two events that we both had gone through. And she allowed me to take her every single time, while her belly was still large....."
"That makes....so much sense...." Saera said as she looked down, "Why...you.....yea..."
"There was one thing that I forgot, however." I continued, "I was different. I didn't know at that point but I was very different. I was stronger than any ordinary human, any ordinary mortal. There were stories of individuals being born different than others, destined to be great things in life. I suppose I was one of them....born in a very unfortunate situation. So I was stronger than everyone.....even the poor Woman....."
"You...." Mya looked at me, a bit of horror in her eyes, "What...happened?"
"I went too hard." I said as I looked at my hands, "I got caught up in my uncontrollable lust, the emotions I was feeling.....I couldn't stop myself.....and till this day, that was the only thing I regret. I hurt her...by accident.....and....I damaged her, her body.....her.....child....."
"What?" She said softly
"No." Maegelle's voice was soft
Saera could not say anything; she was simply looking at me with widened eyes. The shock was too great; she couldn't say a single word.
"The child was lost." I said, "It was not something I meant to happen.....but it happened....and it was my fault."
"I accidentally killed her child."
