How to raise a Russian Girlfriend!

Chapter 41: Ch. 41 - Maki Zenin!

When she was asked what kind of man she likes:

Maki Zenin only has one answer.

"I want him to be stronger than me and beat me in a fight, fair and square."

Unbeknownst to her, her words would be realized sooner than later.

———

When Maki slowly fluttered her eyes open, the memories of the earlier events played out in front of her eyes.

She was beaten by someone. Fair and square.

"…re you okay? Hello?"

Her eyes suddenly snapped open when she realized that she was lying on someone's arms and an unfamiliar voice was calling out to her.

Just as she was about to flip, she was held down immediately. Just by how easily she was held and the grip on her arms made her realize the strength behind them.

When she opened her eyes, she was met with an unfamiliar face.

She felt her breath hitch as she took in the features of his face. Sharp jawline, tight lips, and eyes that stare down at her with worry.

'W-Who is this handsome hunk?!' She screamed in her mind.

She immediately pushed herself forward, flicking the arms holding her away.

"W-Who are you and what were you trying to do with me!?" She shakily pointed her finger at him and accused him in a shivering voice. Her tone was a mix of anxiety and shock. Though her face was flustered as it was her first time being held in such closeness by someone of the opposite gender.

"Sorry about that. As for me, surely you'd be familiar with this." A raise of his hand and a familiar Oni mask appeared between his thumb and index finger.

"You're the guy I just fought? But….You look like someone of my age!" Disbelief can be seen plastered on her face.

Was she just beaten by someone of her age, or even younger than her?

Kenshin didn't reply to her accusation. Why would he? Her words sound like a compliment.

"Maki-san. Are you okay?" Just as Maki looked like she wanted to throw more accusations in Kenshin's way, Panda came forward with concern on his face.

"Salmon." Also Inumaki of course.

"I'm fine. Obviously, I'm stronger than you think. That blow earlier? Pssh, it didn't even put a scratch on me, look!" Maki arrogantly smirked, flexing her muscles at the same time.

"Oh, that's because Kuroki-san healed you earlier. You have ten wounds and a broken bone." Panda's words poured a cold bucket of water over her head, causing her to turn red from embarrassment.

'Damn you, Panda! You should've said it sooner! I wouldn't have to say such bold words!' Maki gritted her teeth and gave Panda a glare that he would remember until they got back to Jujutsu High.

Panda, oblivious to the reason behind the glare, just shivered and looked away from her, scratching his cheeks.

"Anyways, now that you're awake, I'm going to ask it again. Why did you attack me?" Seeing Maki fine, Kenshin sighed in relief before standing up. He crossed his arms as he waited for a reasonable answer.

"I…." Maki was as silent as a worm.

"You?…. What?" Kenshin leaned his head forward, pushing his ear for better hearing.

"I want t—" Unfortunately, before she could finish her words, a defeaning explosion occurred not far from them.

"Tuna Mayo!" Inumaki quickly approached them out of nowhere before pointing in a certain direction, the tone of his voice carrying panic and urging.

"What is he saying? I don't understand." It seems like even his almighty All-Speak skill which allows him to understand any language just by hearing it once is failing now, which could only mean one thing.

Inumaki's words are more like secret codes rather than an entirely new language which is pretty much obvious to anyone with a brain.

"Dammit. It must be the Special-Grade Cursed Spirit." Maki gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. Just by the sound of the Cursed Spirit's howling, it seems like the three 1st-grade Jujutsu Sorcerers aren't enough to take him down.

"We gotta help them somehow." Maki's head took a sharp turn to Kenshin and she yelled at him.

"Hey, you. Do you mind lending us a hand? You're strong, right?" As much as she hates to admit it but they're in dire need of help right now.

"You don't have to tell me," Kenshin replied with a serious tone. That's because the fight between the 3 1st-grade Jujutsu Sorcerers and the special grade cursed spirit is nearing the storage room where his parents and the other survivors were hiding.

His eyes pierced through the darkness, ignoring the clouds of dust, and immediately locked onto the Cursed Spirit.

"Follow me. It's just straight ahead." Without further ado, Kenshin bolted forward, his speed causing a gust of air that blew on the trio's faces.

"He's faster than what he showed earlier," Panda commented.

"Salmon." Inumaki chimed in with a nod of his head, agreeing with Panda.

"Tsk what a show off. What are two dawdling for? Let's follow him." Clicking her tongue in annoyance and mumbling the first sentence to herself, she urged the two to keep up, speeding forward first, leaving them behind.

"Maki-san looked annoyed." Panda scratched his cheek and muttered.

"Salmon." Inumaki agreed once more.

———

After zigzagging through the Supermarket, avoiding some shelves and slicing low-grade Cursed Spirits before they could blink, Kenshin arrived at the wide canteen area where he was met with destruction.

Large potholes filled the area, tables overturned and some were destroyed. The canteen no longer looks like one anymore. The smell of blood and fire permeates the air, invading Kenshin's nostrils.

However, Kenshin paid no mind to this. Instead, his laser-like eyes scanned the entire canteen before finding his target.

A large hulking figure stood out in the middle of the canteen, his large body that looked like a furless gorilla on steroids was a huge contrast compared to his extremely small face which only features a large drooling mouth whereas a single drop of its saliva landed on the ground and melted it in mere seconds.

'Eugh.' Kenshin felt disgusted by it.

"Let's play! Play with me!" Kenshin's ears picked up the words that the cursed spirit uttered. His voice quivered as if something was lodged in his throat.

Kenshin also noticed two figures lying on the floor not far from the cursed spirit. A quick use of his Ki sense told him that both of their life force are quickly decreasing.

'If not healed on time. They'll lose their life here.' Kenshin concluded in his mind.

"I.Said.Play.Tag.With.ME!" By the time he finished his words, the cursed spirit had suddenly disappeared from his place.

A single blink of his eyes and there it was, standing in front of him. A gust of wind blew on Kenshin's face as the hulking cursed spirit had its fist cocked back.

Kenshin's pupils contracted as a shimmering mana shield materialized in front of his face just in time as the large fist backed up by pure muscles behind came crashing down on him like a speeding bullet train.

BOOM!

Kenshin's figure quickly flew back, crashing into several tables and skidding on the ground before coming to a stop.

"Fuck. That hurts a bit." Kenshin rubbed his reddened cheek. His mana barrier failed and the fist pierced through. Thankfully, the mana barrier managed to absorb some of the impact, and his high body defence also played a vital part.

"You want to play tag with that kind of speed? No one in their right mind will play with you!" Kenshin yelled at the living muscle from a distance.

Just from their short encounter earlier, Kenshin had already deduced the strength of this cursed spirit.

He somehow specializes in speed. The punch earlier wasn't because of the cursed spirit's strength.

No. It feels more like a great momentum carried by his incredible speed, unleashing a devastating blow comparable to a speeding bullet train!

"…No one…wants to play tag with me?" The Cursed Spirit stopped in his tracks, like a frozen statue.

A few seconds later, his body starts to shiver. The huge mouth occupying his small face started releasing huge amounts of drool that could fill an entire bucket in mere seconds.

"Hm? Is he crying?" Kenshin furrowed his eyebrows and wondered.

His eyes suddenly widened in surprise as his body tensed up.

Although his eyes couldn't see any movements, not even a blur, he was still able to react in time thanks to his sharp senses that immediately alerted him to danger incoming.

Grabbing his Katana, Kenshin slashed the air in front of him, even without seeing anything.

At the same time as his arm holding the katana stretched forward, a blur of Cursed Spirit's figure appeared, his fist cocked once again. His speed is even greater than what he showed earlier.

As the fist and his Katana came into contact, a catastrophic explosion occurred between the two.

Boom!

Splash!

Crack!

A thin line of red appeared on the Cursed Spirit's knuckles, slicing its index finger in the process, followed by a splash of its purple blood.

Of course, the spark of their short contact wasn't one-sided as the Gale Katana that Kenshin's holding shattered into pieces.

Kenshin released his hold on the Katana's handle, staring down at the steel pieces of the Katana scattered on the ground, wisps of its lingering magic dispersing in the air.

'What a pity. I was starting to like it.' He now started to understand what Maki felt when he sliced her Naginata in half.

'A single katana in exchange for a drop of blood and a finger.' Kenshin mumbled to himself as he raised his head and stared at his opponent.

The cursed spirit remained unmoving, staring at its remaining four fingers with no hint of emotion on its small face.

And then, in a spur-of-the-moment, flesh started to grow from his missing index finger, knitting itself together. First, a bone started to grow at an astonishing speed, followed by the flesh covering it and finally forming a brand new finger!

'High-speed regeneration huh? So basically, this cursed spirit's specialty is something like speed. Fast in movement speed and now also fast when it comes to regeneration.'

While the Cursed Spirit was busy with its regenerating process, Kenshin's mind was formulating plans while scrolling through his inventory.

Since a blade could barely slice through the cursed spirit's skin. It was only thanks to the initial impact that he managed to slice off a finger—Kenshin's going to need more than that.

'If it were me back in Fantazio. I could slice this guy into pieces. Too bad, I'm still far from my prime.' Kenshin shook his head in dismay.

'I'm currently lacking in three stats. Durability, Constitution, and Mind. The last is the hardest to improve. But the first two…' Slowly, a grin creeps up to Kenshin's lips.

Taking out two Brass Knuckles from his inventory, Kenshin could feel their cold material pressing his fingers.

[Titan Knuckles

Grinning, Kenshin clenched his fists and propelled himself forward, leaving a sonic blast of air in his wake.

———

"Look! There it is!" Pointing at the distant canteen, the trio, Maki, Panda, and Inumaki increased their speed. Their ears caught the sound of battle inside. No doubt the man they met earlier has probably engaged with the Special-Grade cursed spirit by now!

"Hurry up!" Maki was the first on the line, clutching the upper half of her Naginata. Unfortunately, she doesn't have any of her other weapons she brought for this mission, only her Naginata which is now, as you can see—destroyed.

'Damn that man. I swear if he dies before I make him pay for my Naginata. I'll kill him myself!' She gritted her teeth and cursed the man under her breath.

By the time they arrived at the canteen, they stopped in their tracks, mouths gaping and eyes widened in surprise as they took in the sight in front of them.

Kenshin and the hulking figure of what they assume as the Special-Grade Cursed Spirit are locked in a deep Mano a Mano battle!

Both of them stood on their ground, exchanging a flurry of punches!

Their fists colliding against each other, causing explosive shockwaves that blew everything around them!

Be it the chairs, the tables, the dust, or everything. Nothing was spared from their heavy scuffle.

It's like watching a large typhoon slowly forming in front of them!
