Two hours earlier, Sargeras had been waiting at the edge of the Forbidden Forest for quite some time, but not a soul appeared. Just as he was beginning to suspect something might have happened to the other party, a sudden fluctuation of magical energy surged from deep within the forest.

He rose from the rock he had been sitting on, frowning as he gazed toward the dark woods, then, in the blink of an eye, transformed into an enormous black shadow that shot swiftly toward the source of the explosion.

A few minutes later, Sargeras arrived at a clearing, where he finally caught sight of everyone.

"Would someone tell me… what on earth has happened here?" Landing on the ground, his sharp eyes swept over the lifeless unicorn lying not far away. His gaze narrowed, voice steady yet carrying the faintest edge of severity.

"Good evening, Sargeras…"

"Professor?"

"Professor Greengrass?"

"Oh, Thank goodness…"

"Finally…"

Sargeras furrowed his brows, trying to extract some useful information from the chaotic babble of voices, but he quickly lost patience.

"Silencio!"

A wordless Silencing Charm was instantly cast, and everyone fell quiet at once.

Sargeras pointed toward Nightingale. "Veiliss, you explain to me."

Only then did everyone realize — they both actually knew each other.

"Alright, Sargeras…" Nightingale smiled faintly. "I took on this commission. Originally, I was supposed to meet you at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, but while I was waiting for you, I stumbled upon something… unusual. Hmm, perhaps a dark wizard? I wasn't entirely sure. So, I quietly followed him… and ended up saving your students from his hands…"

As she spoke, she casually gestured toward Hagrid. "And of course… this big fellow too."

Sargeras gave a slight nod, then turned his sharp gaze toward Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Malfoy. His expression stayed calm, but deep down, he couldn't help sighing in exasperation. These little wizards… honestly, they never stop finding ways to cause trouble. It wasn't enough for them to sneak around the castle at night… now they're bold enough to wander the Forbidden Forest too?

In his mind, the decision had already been made. He was going to deduct house points, and not just a few — a harsh deduction, followed by a full month of detention. No… three months! Let them report to their Head of House after every single class, day after day. That ought to teach them a proper lesson!

But before all that… there were still some things he needed to get clear.

"So, the four of you…" He lifted his hand, pointing straight at the four young wizards.

"Who's going to tell me exactly why you're here?"

His expression remained perfectly composed, not the slightest trace of emotion in his voice. "If no one can give me a reasonable explanation, then I suggest you get comfortable with the inside of the detention room… because that's where you'll be spending all your free time for the foreseeable future."

He glanced at the four students, all of whom were practically bursting to speak, waving their hands in the air, desperate to explain. In the end, his eyes landed on Hermione, and with a flick of his finger through the air, he pointed directly at her.

"Miss Granger. You tell me!"

"Uh… Professor, this time, we weren't actually breaking the school rules…" Hermione, finally able to speak, wasted no time diving into her explanation. "This is part of our detention. Professor McGonagall sent us here."

Sargeras raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. So, the punishment for breaking school rules… is to break a different set of school rules?

He was momentarily speechless, muttering a few complaints to himself internally, but didn't bother pursuing that particular contradiction any further.

Hermione continued to speak, her words coming quickly.

"We were assigned to help Hagrid look for an injured unicorn… but when we got here, we ran into the one who killed it. It tried to attack us, and Hagrid told us to run… but for some reason, Harry just… couldn't move…"

"You can take your time, Miss Granger," Sargeras gently interrupted her, casting a subtle Cheering Charm in her direction as he spoke.

The effect was immediate. Hermione's nerves visibly eased — the tension in her shoulders loosened, and the frantic look in her eyes softened.

She also seemed to realize she had gotten a little too worked up earlier. Lifting her head, she glanced somewhat awkwardly at Nightingale and added with a hint of embarrassment, "And then… this lady showed up. She… she saved us."

Sargeras narrowed his eyes, countless thoughts flickering through his mind. But in the end, he said nothing. Instead, he turned toward Hagrid.

"Hagrid—"

"Professor, Hermione's telling the truth…" Hagrid was still visibly agitated, his voice rough and low. "That thing… it's been attacking the unicorns, drinkin' their blood. I found one dead last Wednesday already… and now this is the second one."

Hearing Hagrid's words, Sargeras felt like he had taken another step closer to the truth. But to make sure he didn't miss any crucial details, he kept questioning.

"Hagrid, you know the Forbidden Forest better than anyone. What do you think that thing was?"

"I… I dunno, Professor." Hagrid shook his head, frustration clear on his face. "But I don't think it was human… it felt more like some kind of animal…"

"An animal?" Sargeras repeated softly, his brow furrowing ever so slightly.

"I dunno… maybe… a vampire?" Hagrid sounded uncertain, his thick fingers scratching nervously at his beard.

"It had a cloak on… we couldn't see its face properly…"

Sargeras nodded faintly, but said nothing more. His gaze shifted again, this time landing on the centaur nearby.

"Do you have anything to add?"

"Ah… well, I'd say… Mars is shining awfully bright tonight…" The centaur's reply came out of nowhere, completely detached from the conversation.

Sargeras gave him a sidelong glance, a wry thought flashing through his mind. These centaurs… really are just as eccentric as the rumors say… It was the common curse of all seers. They undoubtedly knew far more than they were willing to reveal, but since they had chosen to keep their distance, there was little point in pressing them for answers.

Stepping forward, Sargeras made his way toward the unicorn's lifeless body. He crouched down, carefully inspecting the mangled, blood-soaked wound at its throat.

The Silencing Charm had already been lifted, but at this moment, none of the young wizards seemed to have anything left to say.

"I don't think it was a vampire." Nightingale suddenly broke the silence, her voice clear and certain.

"The Holy Light Purge spell couldn't harm it. That means… it definitely wasn't a creature of darkness."

"I think… I understand now…" Sargeras replied without even turning his head, his eyes still fixed on the mutilated body before him.

"Ah… it's always the innocent who suffer first." The centaur spoke with quiet sorrow, his tone drifting faintly through the clearing. "Three hundred years ago it was the same… and now, three centuries later… nothing has changed."

Sargeras felt a wave of irritation rise in his chest. Of all things, this was what he disliked most about the centaurs — their maddening habit of speaking in riddles. It was one thing to keep their secrets, but why did they always have to appear at crucial moments, dangling their cryptic words like bait?

It was as if they were silently declaring to everyone, Come on… ask me… I know something you don't.

"Leon, yeh know what that thing is… don' yeh?"

As expected, Hagrid, hearing those words, immediately pressed him. "Tell us, Leon."

"I'm sorry, Hagrid… but that is written in the stars. It belongs to the forest… and I cannot tell you." Leon's gaze drifted toward the sky, his voice light and distant, as though his thoughts had already floated somewhere far beyond.

"But… didn't you see the unicorn?" Hagrid pointed toward the lifeless body not far away, his voice thick with disbelief. "It's dead… killed by whatever's lurking in this forest… and you're still… still keeping secrets for the murderer?"

"I truly am sorry, Hagrid…" Leon apologized once again, his tone calm but unwavering. "We've swore an oath. We cannot defy the will of the stars… we cannot reveal the omens written in the heavens."

"Why can't you just… take your eyes off those distant stars?" Harry couldn't help but speak, the frustration in his voice was clear as day. "You stare at those unreachable constellations… but you refuse to look at the innocent lives lying right here at your feet?"

It was obvious he simply couldn't understand why the centaurs were so determined to stay silent.

"Enough." Sargeras calmly cut off the exchange, his expression as unreadable as ever. "Centaurs are masters of astrology and herbal lore. They can predict the future… they can read the signs written in the stars. But… rather than involving themselves, they prefer to stand apart… and simply observe the world."

Raising his hand, he stopped Hagrid, who still looked like he wanted to argue. His voice remained steady as he addressed the others. "I know everyone is desperate to uncover the truth… but we cannot expect others to help us, not if it means putting themselves at risk of revenge."

The centaur cast him a grateful look, but Sargeras paid it no mind, as though he hadn't noticed at all.
