Chapter 402: Descent Into Chaos : Escape.
'What…is…happening?'
'....some form of corruption?'
'But I can't spot it in my body of heart and mind or my sea of subconscious.'
'...Then!?'
'It…can't…be!?'
'The…Fool…pathway!?'
'Marionettes!?'
Loki's eyes widened slightly, but he kept it hidden behind a makeup of illusions.
Even with the problem figured out, Loki didn't know how he could get out of the sticky situation he was put into.
Loki's eyes darted around the arena and soon landed on the deep ravenous pits carved into the Earth from Voldemort's missed Cursed Flame Swords.
As soon as Loki saw them he realised what was going to happen and his eyes widened.
The cursed flame swords that missed Laura had never been destroyed.
No one had actually seen them be reduced to nothing.
They were going to return and they were going to return fast. Fast enough that Laura wouldn't be able to comprehend and retreat or defend against them quickly enough because of her focus and her slowed-down thought process that mimicked Loki's situation.
Loki's eyes darted around looking for something he could use to save himself and Laura, but processing everything outside fast enough using his slowed-down brain wasn't possible to do immediately.
The more strain Loki applied on his mind the faster it started to get but he also felt a piercing strain consume it. He was reminded much of the first time he had confronted Voldemort's soul inside the Sefirah Castle.
'What can I do?'
'Laura hasn't noticed the cursed flame swords that will return.'
'Harry and Bellatrix are wrapped up around each other in their own cute little fight…'
'The death eaters are vanishing.'
'...'
'Is this time to use it?'
Loki did not debate around after he reached that thought.
Without any delay, Loki sent a single command to the Ring Of Harvest, specifically to a feature he had modified and added to it quite a long time ago in preparation for today.
To outsiders, it appeared as if Loki had remained still but his actions had caused a massive reaction.
Voldemort's head snapped towards Loki as his eyes widened in shock and horror. But that was only for a few seconds. Soon an unholy scream left Voldemort's throat, like a banshee's wail.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
It sounded like a man being killed by painstakingly screwing each and every centimetre of his body with blunt screws while carefully excluding his vitals so that he would remain conscious and alive for long enough that his skin could be peeled for him to be boiled alive while someone stretched all his limbs to kill him.
Voldemort quickly collapsed to the ground, rapidly deforming into a mutating mess of flesh and body parts. Laura didn't miss a single beat of this, no matter how weird she found the situation to be, as she stepped forward at high speeds with her frozen sword in hand.
Voldemort's eyes which had multiplied from two to a population of tens to hundreds on his fleshy body all watched the sword come closer and closer to him.
His flesh began burning as the blessed sword came closer and the moving and bubbling mass of flesh started to try and react in self-defence by turning into a thick gooey mass of emotions to protect itself by turning noncorporeal.
But it was futile.
Voldemort had long since devolved into an irrational mess of voices. His head was already fractured when 'Tom' messed with Voldemort's mind by planting Dumbledore's corruption from Harry Potter, and the subsequent fight with Loki only worsened it.
Voldemort's mind was essentially held up by the Beyonder duct tape which used the domain of corruption of the Abyss pathway to slow down the mental corruption that Voldemort was currently facing.
Just as Loki was about to rejoice that Voldemort was as good as dead because he regained his ability to think normally, his vision flickered and he returned to looking at the world normally, broken out of his spirit vision.
For a second Loki thought it was simply his glabella spazming which led to his spirit vision being turned off since this was the first time he'd used spirit vision for this long.
But then just as Loki was about to activate his spirit vision for a second time he was suddenly distracted by an ant biting his feet.
'....activating spirit vision failed!?'
Loki's spine chilled at the realisation of what had just happened.
He did not attempt to look at Voldemort directly anymore, instead, Loki immediately vanished from the spot he was standing at.
'Stealing the spotlight these many times should be more than enough for me to safely ascend during the ritual!'
'I don't care if a true god interferes!!'
'No one can stop me from advancing anymore!' Loki shouted in his mind as he reappeared in front of the demon that had been left unprotected.
'This is all I can do for Laura. It is up to her after this point. I'm sure she has had her fair share of brushes with True Gods…I'm sure she can manage what is likely an Outer God…'
Arriving in front of the demon that was just sitting in the centre of the hundreds, nearing thousands, of bodies, Loki grabbed its head with his hand before almost immediately using his Beyonder ability to teleport away again.
The demon didn't even attempt to retaliate against Loki.
It was so positively terrified that it barely even registered Loki arriving in front of it.
As his hand grabbed the demon's head, Loki felt another chill travel down his spine as he felt something far beyond dangerous lock its penetrating gaze onto him like he was its prey.
Loki didn't spare a single glance to look at what was trying to attack him, he knew quite well that whatever outer god had taken control over Voldemort's body was going to try and kill him since he was probably ruining Voldemort's ascension ritual but Loki didn't care.
Without a single sound, Loki was about to teleport away when a devious idea popped into his head.
As Loki teleported away along with the demon in his hand using apparition, he dropped down a stray creature he always kept on him to use as a prank.
The creature whose terrifying gaze was on him stabbed its hand forward to catch Loki mid-way through the teleportation but he vanished without a sound in a swirl of colours before it could get to him.
Loki reappeared in a different part of Britain entirely, a place that he had prepared before, and looked at the demon in his hand that was beyond terrified even though it was in Loki's hand and they had already left the place.
Loki looked around himself to make sure that there wasn't anyone else present in the area and after some assurance, turned to look at the demon that he had captured by activating his spirit vision.
'Quite the peculiar creature you are…'
'I thought you'd be more…how do you say it…scary?'
The demon didn't look powerful, or even something that was capable of defending itself.
But that was mostly only because in the little time Loki had arrived in front of it and teleported with it, it had been corrupted almost completely by the Outer God that possessed Voldemort in the last second.
Branches and roots stuck out of the little demon's body as Loki investigated it thoroughly for any other traps or misgivings that might give him a 'hearty' surprise later.
'It seems like 'She' didn't have the time to leave me anything scary…'
'But I guess unless you're 'Adam' or 'Amon', you probably won't be scaring me anytime soon…'
Loki then raised his hand with the Ring of Harvest on it and pointed it at the Demon that had almost died after Loki had rudely separated all corruption from it by converting it into a rune for later use.
But since the corruption was deeply intertwined with its body, Loki had also ripped apart a large part of its body instead.
But the demon didn't die so easily or rather hadn't died yet.
The ring quickly grew a thin toothy mouth out of which a thin and long tongue swirled out. The tongue wrapped around the demon's body before its soul was grabbed by the ring and it was eaten, consumed as fodder for Loki's pet ring.
With a soft burp, the ring then puked out the demon's body.
Loki looked at the dead demon with his spirit vision and quickly started fleshing out the mystical item that contained the Sequence 4 Parasite Beyonder Characteristic.
Meanwhile, in the arena where the 'wild' Voldemort was, Laura trusted her spiritual intuition to retreat from the area as soon as she felt her holy frozen sword become corrupted.
To make her blessed sword corrupted at such a rapid pace meant that something had gone terribly wrong. And since Loki had stolen her ability to feel emotions, and Voldemort's control over her spirit threads had vanished, Laura retreated.
She apparated away only because the creature's attention had switched to Loki instead of her, trying to catch him as he aparated away.
In her last moments, she was about to stop to protect Loki but when she saw him smile and vanish she escaped too without a second thought.
Bellatrix and Harry too instinctually chose to flee the area in spite of being blithering fools who couldn't maintain a single rational thought since they had prematurely exposed their Mythical Creature forms.
Bellatrix vanished using apparition while Harry simply jumped away from the area using his enhanced strength.
Voldemort on the other hand appeared to be fully healed. He was currently standing in his spot as he looked at the spot Loki had left from with a deep and angry frown.
But as soon as Loki left the area a different person suddenly walked into view.
The person was wearing a large royal witch's hat, and exquisite blue robes that were so long that they dragged on the floor, the person's face was dainty and pretty, it looked effeminate but at the same time, it looked sharp and masculine.
The man who had walked out of thin air looked at Voldemort in front of him and smiled.
And even though Voldemort didn't have any hair on his body, it all stood up.
"Hello there…missed me so much that you called me to witness you fight?"
Everything in that moment felt scary and wrong to the creature that had possessed Voldemort.
It was as if it could feel the constantly radiating and pulsing Divinity of the creature in front of it.
A heavy pressure was forced onto possessed Voldemort's shoulders as it faced a seemingly simple and calm person who looked like a harmless and happy visitor.
