HP X LOTM : Please Call Me Mr. Error.

Chapter 405: Sequence 4 : Parasite.

To a normal person, the potion would've looked like a simple sea-green liquid, but Loki could easily see just how 'lively' it was. The potion looked deceptive in Loki's eyes, it looked eager to get into whoever was going to drink it and wanted to capture them and make them their host.

'Is this why the ritual was important?'

'Because it helps anchor your humanity during the potion consumption? So that the will of the potion itself/ remanent will of the previous Beyonder Characteristic does not interfere with your advancement?'

Loki had known of this earlier too. But it was one thing to intellectually know something and another matter entirely to see it happen and experience it.

'Hmm…interesting.'

Loki slowly brought the potion to his lips and then *slurped* it all down in a single large gulp.

The thick potion flowed down his esophagus before settling in his gullet where it began to heat up.

Loki suddenly felt the potion split up and attack all the cells in his body. He opened his eyes and looked down at his hands as he saw them slowly bubble up and swell. But the changes didn't stop there. The hand soon started to turn into maggots and worms that started to act out of his control.

It felt like there was someone else in his body trying to take it over. It felt like he was just a person parasitising this life and now it was someone else trying to take it from him.

Loki took a deep breath to calm himself before closing his eyes and focusing on the battle with Voldemort where he had taken the spotlight throughout the entire fight with the help of cogitaiton.

He focused continuously as he reminded himself that he was the one in control. No matter what he was involved in, he would arrange things to always move towards his benefit.

He wasn't just an actor.

He was the director, the producer and even the audience.

Everyone was just acting according to the script he had set for them.

Loki slowly started to regain sensations in his hands that had been swelling just a few seconds before. They regained their skin as the worms slowly receded back into his body, forming his muscles and veins as the blood started to slowly circulate through them, making them an inseparable part of his body.

'This is it.'

Loki thought as he slowly opened his eyes to look at his body.

'I've done it.'

'I've finally stepped onto the path of becoming a True God.'

Loki closely examined his body but something suddenly stood out to him.

'Huh!? What-'

'How!?'

'Ah…I see…I get it.'

'Finally! After all this time!!'

Loki ignored the change he had noticed, for now, and moved on to testing his new abilities.

With a simple look, Loki targeted his ability to parasitise someone onto a random bug that was quietly climbing a grass stalk under the moonlight.

The bug continued moving around casually, even unfurling its wings to fly around while jumping from one grass stalk to another to increase its air time.

But Loki had vanished from his spot.

Loki was currently piggybacking the bug since he had already parasitised it within a moment because it was a simple life form.

According to his calculations, it would take about twenty seconds to fully parasitise a human, as in replacing them entirely in their bodies. This time could perhaps decrease as he digested his potion further, but it would surely decrease if he increased his Sequence.

Loki tried to exert his control over the bug to change its direction of movement and found himself to be easily capable of doing such a thing even though he hadn't fully parasitised the bug.

Even still, Loki felt a slight resistance to his commands. But the bug couldn't do much else other than listen to him.

'I guess the more complex the creatures are, the harder it will be for me to influence them without deeply parasitising them.'

Loki ended the parasitism finally by performing a theft to leave the bug, which was a required condition for him to undo his parasitisation.

Loki stole the ability to think from the bug, causing it to suddenly lose its trajectory in mid-air as it slammed face-first into the grass stalk it was about to land on.

Thankfully the bug was protected by a good exoskeleton and it would only remain dazed for a little while before it would go back to normal if it didn't get eaten within the two hours its ability to think would be missing.

Loki was a little surprised by the ease with which he could parasitise and undo his parasitisation but then he moved on to testing his previous abilities.

Loki's illusions could now even generate spirit body threads for his illusory objects, be it a normal daily use item or an entire person. Although simple on the surface, Loki knew it would be of much help since it would allow him to interfere with divination, albeit prematurely, by giving his illusions appropriate fates.

It would also help against Voldemort. But it wouldn't just help to keep control of his spirit threads and avoid becoming Voldemort's marionette. There was another way it could help him very much!

For example, if he fought Voldemort again, Loki could simply make his illusions lethally attack him and use fate to pretend as if they would do damage, this would in fact trigger Voldemort's threat perception and detection and show him a 'false' vision of him being attacked.

On top of that, it was a very useful ability to have when most of the Beyonder world ran around planning according to the fates of various people, places and items.

Loki then finally looked at his theft ability. They hadn't improved as powerfully as the others but they would now allow him to try stealing at least three abilities from a Beyodner before he is forced to stop thieving.

He had also obtained the ability to steal things only partially as he had guessed earlier.

Loki then felt his mythical creature form but hadn't activated or transformed into it yet because he felt he could easily lose control in such a state.

Loki had the idea of trying to use his Beyonder abilities to prevent loss of control but doubted he could do it so easily, so he stored the thought of performing such a test at the back of his mind to do so when he could do it under someone's supervision.-

-Which meant it was probably not going to be done for a long time.

'How nice…'

'I'm growing stronger now...'

'No…I can't get arrogant…not yet.'

'I have plenty of enemies who can probably end me before I even say a word.'

'...but I did grow stronger.'

'Now that I think about it…'

'Why haven't I heard those ravings and whispers during the last two times I've advanced my Sequence?'

'....why did I hear them in the first place?'

'Klein heard them because of marionettes of the Half Fool? Why did I hear them?'

'Doesn't that mean that there's an Error pathway Beyonder out there?'

'Did he die or something?'

'.....is he connected in some way to the person who messed up my memories?'

Loki did not like where his thoughts were headed.
