"Welcome! What would you like to order today?"

In a Golden Arches restaurant, a charming girl in a bright red uniform greeted customers with a gentle smile.

"I'll have a hamburger and a Coke," the customer replied simply.

"In that case, may I recommend upgrading to our luxury single meal set for just 200 yen more? It includes a Coke, a hamburger, and a bonus small fries."

"Sure, I'll take one." The guest, captivated by her pleasant demeanor, found it hard to refuse.

"Here you go. Please enjoy your meal."

Hestia handed the set meal to the customer with a bright smile and sighed in relief.

"Fantastic! I've sold so much today! With today's commission, I can even splurge on some fried potato balls. Amazing!"

Her satisfaction was evident as she looked at the happy diners around her. A contented smile graced her face, and her twin ponytails seemed to bounce cheerfully in tune with her mood.

Nearby, her coworker—another newbie named Maou Sadao—seemed flustered and overwhelmed.

"What? An ultra-luxury children's meal? What's that? Does the store even sell that?"

Maou, with his inexperience and inexplicable arrogance, was clearly struggling to keep up.

Hestia shook her head in mild exasperation. Stepping in, she approached the guest with a polite smile. "Here you go—this is your ultra-luxury children's set. Oh, and by the way, we offer a microwave service. If you've brought food for your baby and need it heated, I'd be happy to assist."

The guest, a mother with a young child, broke into a satisfied smile. "Thank you so much! That's very considerate."

Maou, observing this exchange, looked utterly amazed. "Incredible! So professional! Is this what it means to excel at customer service?"

Hestia, noticing his enthusiasm, laughed lightly. "It's nothing, really. As responsible staff, when we have free time, we should go the extra mile to help our customers. It makes a big difference in how they feel about the service."

Her words left Maou deeply impressed. 'Proficient and Thorough—she's got this down to an art.'

"By the way," Hestia said, tilting her head thoughtfully, "you seem pretty young, Maou-kun. Are you still in school? Is this just a part-time gig or a regular job for you?"

Despite her cheerful demeanor, Hestia's instincts as a goddess couldn't help but pick up on something unusual about Maou. Even though her divine powers were sealed, her ability to perceive people remained intact.

'Maou-kun has an air about him… the presence of someone who's accustomed to authority.'

"Well... I never went to school, and honestly, I've never really worked before," Sadao said thoughtfully, reflecting on his past.

In truth, Maou Sadao was far from an ordinary person. Known as the "Part-Time Job Demon King," he was once the fearsome Demon King of Ente Isla. His real name? Satan Jakobu.

Oh, and his age? A mere 300 years old.

Of course, Maou couldn't just reveal his true identity outright. Over his time in this world, he had realized something odd—this place was devoid of any real mysteries or magic.

The only anomaly seemed to be a man named Alexander, who somehow brought fantastical characters to life. This puzzled Maou. Despite the apparent absence of magic in this world, Alexander's creations seemed brimming with supernatural powers.

Unknown to Maou, the differences ran deeper. His magic relied on negative emotions like fear and resentment—a stark contrast to Alexander's characters, whose powers came from altered forms of energy. Their systems were fundamentally incompatible.

Hestia, however, was unaware of any of this.

"You've never worked before?" Hestia asked, her voice tinged with surprise. "Actually, same here! I used to be so revered, everyone admired me, worshipped me, called me a goddess... but now—" Her voice cracked with emotion, and she sniffled dramatically. "Now I'm here, working part-time at a fast-food restaurant! It's just too much!"

Hearing her lament, Maou felt an unexpected connection.

"Exactly! That's exactly how I feel! I used to hold such a high status—everyone feared and respected me. And now, look at me! I'm taking orders!"

The two exchanged a meaningful glance, their eyes lighting up with mutual understanding.

A single thought crossed both their minds.

'"Could it be... he (she) is a fellow traveler?"'
