Hunter Ascension: Reberu

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Awakening?

Prologue - The Enemy Awaits

Inside a vast cavern, the atmosphere was tense. A towering man stood with his arms crossed, his glowing red eyes emanating a terrifying aura. He was no ordinary human, he was Silakh Hawk, an S-Grade Hunter, the second-strongest man in this region.

Around him, several cursed creatures lurked in the shadows, seemingly afraid of his fierce presence.

"Dzeth… the kid who defeated Hwang…" Silakh's voice echoed through the cave. "I want to see how strong you really are before I erase you from this world."

A sinister smile spread across his lips as he awaited the arrival of Dzeth—the young hunter who had dared to challenge his family's name.

-

Hunter Academy - Scolded by Hwang

Inside the academy classroom, Dzeth sat at his desk, carefully studying a book about Hunter Techniques. However, before he could read further, a loud voice interrupted him.

"Oi, Dzeth! Do you think you're that strong?!"

Hwang stood at the front of the class, eyes burning with rage.

Dzeth raised an eyebrow. "What's your problem now?"

"You humiliated me in front of everyone at Hodigama Cave! You think you're that powerful?"

Some of their classmates turned to watch with interest. They knew Hwang wouldn't let this go so easily.

-

Break Time - A Challenge at the Table

During break time, Dzeth was still engrossed in his book, trying to deepen his understanding of the Limitless Hunter Technique. But as expected, Hwang approached him once again.

"All you do is read. Are you trying to be a professor or a Hunter?" Hwang taunted.

Dzeth closed his book slowly. "Maybe both?"

Hwang scoffed. "Fine. If you're so great, let's fight on the field after class."

Dzeth smirked slightly. "Heh… if that's what you want."

-

At the Field - The Fight Begins

They stood face-to-face on the training field. Hwang looked confident, surrounded by his supportive friends. From afar, a teacher observed them silently.

However, something strange happened. Dzeth raised his hand and waved toward the teacher.

The teacher flinched. How… how can he see me from so far away?

Before he could react, the battle began.

Hwang charged at Dzeth, throwing a punch using the Beast Hunter Technique. But Dzeth dodged effortlessly and remarked, "Using a Hunter Technique, huh?"

Dzeth activated Negative Reversal, striking the ground beneath Hwang, causing him to lose balance. In an instant, Dzeth accelerated toward Hwang, grabbed his head, and slammed him into the ground.

But Hwang refused to give up. "I'm not finished yet!"

He activated Awakening: Beast Body.

His muscles swelled, his aura intensified, and his presence grew wilder. He dashed toward Dzeth at an incredible speed—but to Dzeth, his movements seemed sluggish.

Dodging every attack effortlessly, Dzeth remained calm.

Suddenly, their teacher intervened. "Enough! You should be studying, not fighting. Neither of you is strong enough yet!"

Dzeth sighed. "Alright, alright…"

At Home - Questions About Awakening

Later that night, Dzeth sat in his room, deep in thought about the battle.

"What was that power Hwang used? Awakening?"

He knew little about Awakening, but one thing was clear—his power was still far from enough to face someone like Silakh Hawk.

With a heavy mind, he eventually fell asleep.

-

The Next Day - Akanza's Request

As Dzeth read a book at home, he heard a knock on his door.

When he opened it, he saw Akanza—a classmate who had arrived late at Hodigama Cave.

"What is it?" Dzeth asked.

Akanza looked uneasy. "Dzeth, can you help me? I have a mission to investigate a cursed forest… Hwang gave me this task."

Hearing Hwang's name, Dzeth had a bad feeling. But he agreed nonetheless.

-

Nightfall - A Trap in the Forest

Dzeth and Akanza arrived at the forest. The atmosphere was eerie, but Dzeth was more concerned about Hwang's true intentions.

Before long, they spotted Hwang waiting for them.

"Oi, weakling Dzeth, let's fight!"

Dzeth sighed. "Didn't you already lose?"

"It wasn't the right time!" Hwang yelled. "AWAKENING: BEAST BODY!"

Without hesitation, Dzeth dashed forward, knocking Hwang to the ground. He fired a Negative Reversal, but this time, Hwang managed to evade it.

"Negative Reversal? Isn't that…?"

"Yeah," Dzeth replied. "This is the Limitless Hunter Technique."

Hwang sprinted toward him, but Dzeth unleashed Maximum Positive, pulling Hwang toward him. In an instant, Dzeth struck Hwang's stomach with a devastating punch, making him cough up blood.

However, something unexpected happened.

"Hah… you just got lucky, Dzeth."

A deep, menacing voice echoed around them.

Dzeth turned and saw a massive figure approaching. He was more terrifying, stronger, and deadlier than anyone Dzeth had ever faced.

Silakh Hawk.

"My father is here…" Hwang smirked.

Silakh accelerated toward Dzeth, punching the ground with such force that the earth trembled beneath them.

His piercing gaze locked onto Dzeth.

"Prepare yourself… I will erase you from this world."
