Hunter X Hunter: Tombbound Power

Chapter 33: 033 When Did Nen's Practice Become So Easy?

During this month, the progress and gains of the group were gratifying. There were many things they didn't understand before, but under the guidance of Bisky, they suddenly began to grasp them.

Ronnel felt that finding Bisky to be his master was definitely the best decision he had made.

On this day, after a long day of training and a massage from his master, he was on his way back to his residence.

"The flow of people seems to be increasing, and it's growing every day," Shizuku commented after waiting in line for a long time to buy her favorite ice cream.

"That's because the grand event at Heavens Arena is approaching, so naturally, more people are coming," Wing replied, walking behind with Zushi.

"Originally, I brought Zushi here because I wanted him to observe the event in three days and expand his knowledge."

"A grand event?" Ronnel looked at Wing curiously. For a month and a half, he had been focused on training with Bisky and hadn't paid much attention to the events at Heavens Arena.

"Yes, from the 220th floor to the 250th floor of Heavens Arena, there is a Floor Master for each level. You know about this?"

"I do. The 31 Floor Masters participate in a fighting event every two years, the Battle Olympia, which attracts countless spectators."

(T/N: The Battle Olympia is the Heavens Arena's biennial combat festival.)

Suddenly, Ronnel came to his senses. "Is it the time for the Battle Olympia?"

"No, no," Wing shook his head with a smile. "The festival was last year. The next one will be held next year, on April 15."

"Next year? So, 1998?" Ronnel thought back to the timeline of events. In "The Last Mission," the Battle Olympia was interrupted by Jed, and that was after Gon and Killua exited the Greedy Island game and met Kite.

(T/N: Jed had been in battle with Netero, who was trying to wipe out Jed's people, the On users (the opposite of Nen). Later on, Netero killed Jed and the other On users for heinous crimes they had committed using On.)

The day Gon and Killua met Kite was March 18, 2000, and they entered the NGL in May to investigate the Chimera Ant incident. So the Martial Arts Tournament did indeed happen on April 15?

(T/N: NGL is the place where Chimera Ant arc occurred)

After confirming this, Ronnel glanced at the oblivious Zushi. The boy had recently been taken as a disciple by Wing, laying down his foundation, but had yet to learn Nen.

Bisky was only working on training his body, without introducing the intricacies of Nen. Zushi would start learning about Nen for the first time in 1999, well before Gon and Killua came to Heavens Arena.

Still, how was it possible that Zushi, after just two years of training, participated in the Battle Olympia and became a Floor Master? When did Nen training become so easy?

In less than two years, Zushi, with his raw talent in martial arts—rare as one in 100,000—became a Floor Master. It was impressive, but next to the prodigious Gon and Killua, it seemed even more incredible.

The only explanation was that Zushi's foundation was exceptionally strong, and while Gon and Killua were busy causing chaos in Yorknew City and playing Greedy Island, Zushi trained day and night, achieving impressive results.

Or perhaps the so-called Floor Masters weren't as formidable as they appeared? Maybe it was a bit of both.

"The event this time is mainly a battle between two Floor Masters. The reason for the large audience is that both are well-known in the world of martial arts," Wing explained patiently.

"They both come from the Subai School, a famous martial arts school. However, due to internal disagreements over the martial arts philosophy, the school split into two factions: North and South."

"To prove their legitimacy, both factions promoted their top fighters, making them highly popular and widely recognized."

"Eventually, tensions rose, and it was decided that a final battle would settle the dispute. That's why today's grand event is so significant."

Ronnel now fully understood.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and on the day of the match on the 234th floor of Heavens Arena, the atmosphere was electric.

Five days before the event, all tickets had sold out. The early-bird audience had already filled the venue, eagerly awaiting the fight.

Those without tickets had to settle for watching the event on monitors scattered throughout the first floor of Heavens Arena.

Ronnel and his group of five managed to get into the auditorium to watch the match live. Though the tickets had sold out, scalpers existed everywhere, and a bit of money could solve most problems.

Ronnel had spent most of his assets on gemstones but managed to earn enough for tickets and living expenses after a quick trip to the casino, his face masked with a false identity.
