I am Chosen Villain

Chapter 7: Heavens Tremble

The silence left in Gu Tianxian's wake was crushing.

Xu Qingyang staggered, his breath uneven, his hand pressing against the fresh wound on his shoulder. His wooden sword—once a symbol of divine favor—felt like a mockery in his grip.

A chosen one of fate. A child blessed by the heavens.

And yet, he had been helpless.

The golden glow surrounding him flickered like a dying candle. The divine protection had held, but barely. It was as if fate itself had hesitated.

As if it, too, feared something.

Xu Qingyang's gaze hardened. No.

He refused to believe it. The heavens had chosen him for a reason. He would become strong—stronger than ever before.

And next time, he would not be forced to kneel.

Somewhere Else, Beyond Mortal Sight…

A great celestial hall loomed beyond the veil of the mortal world.

Clouds swirled like rivers of light, flowing beneath an endless golden palace. Statues of ancient gods and heavenly warriors stood solemn, their presence vast yet silent.

At the center of the hall, seated upon a throne woven from divine fate, a being clad in luminous robes stirred.

His eyes—star-forged and eternal—narrowed.

"Something has changed."

The celestial officials kneeling before him looked up in confusion. One of them, an old sage with a flowing beard, hesitated before speaking.

"Lord of Fate, what troubles you?"

The being's gaze pierced through time itself.

He saw the destined ones—the protagonists of this world. Heroes chosen by the heavens, their fates written in golden ink, their paths unchangeable.

And yet…

There was an anomaly.

A thread woven from black silk, writhing and unbound.

A figure who should not exist—who walked outside the ordained script, unraveling the tapestry of destiny with every step he took.

Gu Tianxian.

The Lord of Fate's expression darkened.

"He was never meant to be."

The celestial officials looked at one another, their unease growing.

"A deviation in the Grand Fate?" one murmured.

"A mere ripple?" another suggested.

But the Lord of Fate did not answer. His hands clenched around his throne, and for the first time in millennia, the golden rivers of fate shuddered.

"Summon the celestial enforcers." His voice echoed like thunder. "The heavens will not allow this heresy to continue."

Meanwhile, In the Mortal World…

Gu Tianxian stood atop a nameless mountain, gazing at the stars.

His crimson eyes gleamed in the darkness.

He felt it.

A presence watching. A will pushing against his existence.

The heavens had finally noticed him.

"Took them long enough." He smirked.

A new quest appeared in his vision, written in cold, silver text:

[New Mission: Defy the Heavens.]

Objective: Kill the celestial enforcers before they erase you.]

Gu Tianxian let out a slow, amused breath.

"So the gods want to play?"

He welcomed it.
