Chapter 668: IMUC Chapter 661 Grandmaster, Get Down Here!
On Planet Sakaar, at the Arena.
"This is boring, this is boring," Hulk muttered dejectedly. The once unstoppable, wildly ferocious monster who had dominated Sakaar was now utterly subdued after Kyle's arrival.
Kyle's past beatings and torment had left a deep scar on Hulk's psyche.
"Kyle, how did you get here?" Thor retracted his fist, suppressing the surge of his power, and asked in astonishment.
"I arrived just in time, followed the Bifrost with you all," Kyle shrugged, patted Thor on the shoulder, and softly reassured him, "I already know about your father."
"Really? I've disappointed him," Thor said, hanging his head in sorrow.
"No, you haven't. The power you possess now proves otherwise," Kyle shook his head. In his eyes, Thor's Divine Card had blossomed, evolving from a rare purple to a magnificent golden hue.
This signified Thor had awakened his Divine Card and was fully qualified to become King of the Gods.
Unfortunately, Kyle couldn't claim this power for himself. Cards of such rare golden quality could only be possessed by a single individual, and Kyle already held one – the dual star energy.
"What... what's happening?"
The once jubilant alien audience stared in disbelief, their eyes wide with astonishment as they witnessed the silver-haired youth abruptly halt the fight.
Having withstood full-force attacks from both the challenger and the defender without a scratch, his display of power defied comprehension.
Furthermore, upon closer inspection, it became evident that after the silver-haired youth's arrival, both the challenger and the defender ceased fighting and were now conversing as if they were old acquaintances.
From a hovering mech platform above, the Valkyrie observed the scene in the arena, her head spinning in confusion, "Who exactly is he?"
She hadn't witnessed Kyle's movements clearly; by the time she registered what had transpired, Kyle had already descended from the platform and halted the fight below. Not only did he know the powerful green giant, but he was also familiar with Thor, the Prince of Asgard. Even she couldn't fathom Kyle's identity.
On the floating high platform of the Arena.
When Kyle appeared, Loki, already pale, leaped from the sofa. With lightning speed, he produced the Tesseract, opening a spatial distortion to vanish from his position.
He escaped in an instant.
While Hulk merely made Loki wary, Kyle had triggered Loki's primal instinct to flee.
If he didn't flee now, he might not survive!
The Grandmaster, seated at the main position, looked bewildered. He squinted and gazed at the silver-haired youth in the arena, a strange sense of déjà vu washing over him.
Pointing at Hulk, Thor, and Kyle, the hundreds of thousands of alien spectators began to murmur amongst themselves. Suddenly, someone screamed in terror, "Wait, that man… silver-haired, tall, with a youthful face... he looks like the one who destroyed the Arena back in the day!"
That man?
The audience fell into sudden silence, and after three seconds of quiet, they erupted into an uproar. Any older alien audience member would never forget the legendary battle from ten years ago in the arena.
The man, initially deemed the least likely to win, had fought relentlessly, ultimately defeating the long-reigning champion – the God of War – and reducing the Arena to ruins. Before the eyes of the entire planet, he had evaded the pursuit of the planet's defenders.
He was a legendary figure on the planet, a symbol of hope for countless enslaved warriors. But even after ten years, no one had ever managed to escape the Arena. This proved that legends were meant to be witnessed, not replicated.
"It's the Tyrant, the Tyrant from back then!"
"Didn't he die trying to escape the planet?"
"That was merely a rumor. He's the legend from back then!"
"The Tyrant! He really returned?!"
The audience in the Arena erupted in excitement, their eyes riveted on Kyle. The older spectators who had witnessed that battle firsthand felt their blood stir with excitement. Younger ones, though they hadn't seen it, had heard the legendary tale.
On the floating high platform.
"It appears to be the escaped slave from back then," One of the guards stepped forward, bowed his head, and reported to the Grandmaster.
"The Tyrant, you dare to return…" The Grandmaster's face darkened as he coldly commanded, "He has tarnished Planet Sakaar's reputation. Assemble all the guards and encircle the entire Arena. We must not allow him to escape this time!"
"Yes!" The guard promptly accepted the order and swiftly retreated.
In the center of the arena.
Hearing the roar, even more enthusiastic than when they had cheered for Hulk, Thor looked at Kyle in surprise. "Tyrant? Who are they calling?"
"Before I became the protector of the Asgard, I came here once, and I still have unfinished business here."
Kyle smiled faintly while looking up at the floating platform at the apex of the dome, his gaze seemingly meeting that of the high and mighty Grandmaster.
He calmly stated, "Grandmaster, come down here."
These words were like thunder on a clear day, stunning the hundreds of thousands of alien spectators. They stared in disbelief, frightened, and all turned their eyes to Kyle.
"A madman, a completely insane madman." The Valkyrie aboard the warship couldn't help but blanch.
Planet Sakaar had existed for millions of years, with countless aliens having fallen here. Only the Grandmaster remained eternal. The Grandmaster was like a god, untouchable, and no one dared to question his authority.
But today, someone had commanded the Grandmaster to come down here. This was a direct challenge to the authority of the entire planet!
The vast arena fell into an eerie silence, where even a pin dropping could be heard.
Only Kyle, still speaking in an imperative tone, said, "Didn't you hear me? Come down here! Grandmaster!"
'Crack!'
The Grandmaster crushed the armrest of his chair in his rage, his face turning a deep shade of crimson. He roared at the guards behind him, "Where are they? Why haven't they arrived yet? Kill that madman!"
"They've arrived!" The captain of the guards quickly responded, looking up towards the sky.
Above the open-air arena, countless warships of varying sizes, like a swarm of bees, filled the night sky, completely obscuring it. The Valkyrie's warship had already vanished.
In his fury, the Grandmaster caused the entire planet to tremble!
Sensing the heavy scent of gunpowder in the air, the alien spectators in the stands panicked, quickly scattering in all directions toward the exits.
"Looks like we need to keep fighting. Kyle, don't intervene yet, let me handle this!"
Thor, staring at the group of warships in the sky, raised both hands, lightning crackling around his body. But he only looked impressive for about three seconds before the device at his neck activated, sending him into spasms and causing him to collapse to the ground.
Nearby, Hulk cast a contemptuous glance at him and gave a thumbs-down. "You're no good."
Thor, half-conscious on the ground, his body still twitching, felt a surge of frustration as if he wanted to spit blood.
"You just rest. This is a past grievance, and I'll settle it myself."
Kyle spoke softly, his eyes igniting with flame as his body was engulfed in intense, blazing dual-star energy.
With a single step, he transformed into a streak of light, heading towards the endless swarm of warships alone.
