Everyone backed away, pulling Thor aside as if they were wary of an ancient force.

Several onlookers observed the scene from a distance.

Dark clouds gathered in the sky, and thunder descended on Jaxon. However, he remained unscathed.

The thunder seemed to crown him, forging a set of armor made from lightning. Jaxon quickly retracted the symbiote suit, ensuring it wouldn't be damaged by the storm.

Far away in Asgard, in the control room of the Rainbow Bridge, Heimdall silently watched the unfolding events.

Thor had failed to lift Mjolnir, yet Jaxon had gained its recognition, all in plain view of those present.

Even Odin, who had just quarreled with Loki before falling into the Odinsleep, seemed to sense it. Someone had been deemed worthy by Mjolnir, and that person was not his son, but a mortal.

Clad in his newly-forged thunder armor, Jaxon descended from the air, landing gracefully in front of Jean and the others.

Jean immediately threw herself into Jaxon's arms, and he held her securely with one hand.

"Jaxon, are you okay?"

"I'm fine." He reassured her, smiling, "It recognized me and shared some of its power with me."

"So... are you the new God of Thunder now?"

Jaxon shook his head, "No, I don't want that. My only goal is to protect this world and be with the people I care about. That's enough for me."

Thor stood to the side, disbelief etched on his face. How could a mortal, of all people, be recognized by Mjolnir?

"This can't be." Thor muttered, "Why would Mjolnir choose you?"

"Thor." Jaxon replied, his tone firm but calm, "You don't yet understand what it means to carry the responsibilities of a god, let alone fulfill them."

"When you learn that lesson, you'll gain Mjolnir's approval, and I'll gladly return it to you."

"Mjolnir belongs to you, but it won't accept someone who isn't worthy. So, think about it, Thor. Reflect on what it means to be a god."

Thor's face fell, a mix of frustration and realization crossing his features. While Jaxon's words began to resonate, it wasn't enough to fully awaken him—but it was a start.

Jaxon dismissed the thunder armor, revealing his original clothes beneath.

Turning to Darcy, Jaxon said, "It seems there's no need for additional protection here."

He picked up Mjolnir effortlessly, "I'll hold onto this for now. When Thor earns it back, it will be his again."

Darcy could only nod, offering a polite smile, "This hammer doesn't belong to us anyway. Returning it to its rightful owner is for the best."

Jaxon added, "Darcy, be prepared. Something unexpected may happen soon."

"Should we send in reinforcements?" Darcy asked, visibly concerned.

"No." Jaxon replied, "This is a matter of the gods. Mortal forces won't help here. Thor has to face this, but if he falters, I'll step in."

Darcy hesitated before offering, "I can evacuate the townspeople if needed."

"That's a good idea, but don't cause unnecessary panic. I'll do everything I can to minimize the damage."

In the palace of Asgard, Loki, having temporarily assumed the throne, stewed in dissatisfaction. Temporary power wasn't enough—he wanted it permanently, with Odin's approval.

Determined to prove himself, Loki devised a plan to eliminate Thor and destroy Jotunheim, thus showcasing his strength.

Everything unfolded as Loki intended, except for one crucial detail: Loki didn't know that Jaxon had already lifted Mjolnir.

Under the cover of night, Loki descended to Midgard. But when he searched for Mjolnir, it was nowhere to be found.

Eventually, he found Thor in a small town.

Thor, lost in thought and weighed down by guilt, looked up as Loki entered the room.

"Loki? Why are you here?"

"I had to see you." Loki replied smoothly.

Thor's unease grew, "What's happened?"

"Father... has passed." Loki lied, his voice heavy with false sorrow.

Thor froze, his face crumbling in despair, "What?"

Loki continued, weaving his deception, "Your banishment and the threat of war were too much for him to bear."

Thor's shoulders sagged under the weight of his loss, guilt, and regret, "This is my fault... all of it."

Loki nodded solemnly, "I've taken the throne in his place. But as part of the peace agreement with Jotunheim, you are to remain exiled."

Crushed, Thor whispered, "Can I at least return to say goodbye?"

Loki's expression darkened, "Mother doesn't want to see you, either. I came only to bid you farewell."

Thor, heartbroken, could only nod, "Take care of Mother... and Asgard."

Satisfied with Thor's despair, Loki turned to leave—but the door suddenly swung open, revealing Jaxon.

"You want the hammer, don't you?" Jaxon asked, his voice sharp.

Loki's gaze fell on Mjolnir in Jaxon's hand, "How dare a mortal touch such an object?"

Jaxon smirked and set the hammer down, "If you can lift it, you're welcome to take it."

Loki tried but failed, his frustration mounting.

"Puny god." Jaxon muttered with a chuckle.

Furious, Loki shed his façade, "Enough of this insolence!" He shouted, "I am a god! Kneel before me!"

Loki launched an attack, but Jaxon, wielding Mjolnir's power, blocked it with ease.

Loki's rage grew, "You dare mock me?"

Jaxon, unfazed, crossed his arms, "Loki, do you think defeating Thor will make you king? How naïve."

Loki sneered, "What do you know, mortal?"

Jaxon leaned closer, a sly grin on his face, "More than you think. For instance, you're not Odin's only child. You have a sister—Hela, the Goddess of Death."

Loki's expression faltered.

"She was banished because her ambitions nearly destroyed Asgard. When she returns, she'll crush you like a bug. You'll need more than your tricks to survive."

Loki's disbelief wavered, but Jaxon pressed on.

"You're clever, Loki, but cleverness isn't enough. True kingship requires wisdom, strength, and the ability to protect all nine realms. You're nowhere near ready for that."

Loki seethed, but he couldn't deny the sting of Jaxon's words.

Thor, meanwhile, sat silently, his mind racing with thoughts of his father, his hammer, and the responsibilities he had yet to embrace.

For both brothers, the road ahead was long—and Jaxon would ensure they both walked it.
