After all, this was made of Asgard's Uru metal, imbued with Odin's magic.

Seeing the Destroyer preparing to fire another high-temperature beam, Jaxon decided to take a risk and absorb some of the energy.

"Energy Devouring!"

The high-temperature beam struck Jaxon head-on, and he felt searing pain from the extreme heat.

*My body can barely withstand this...*

Loki noticed Jaxon's struggle and laughed gleefully like a triumphant child.

"That's the feeling I wanted! Burn, Destroyer. Burn him to ashes!"

Fortunately, Jaxon's enhanced physique held up under the assault. Though the beam's energy was indeed absorbable, he could only take in a portion; the majority still inflicted damage on his body.

"Wait... the Fire Spirit Pearl!"

Jaxon retrieved the Fire Spirit Pearl, one of the treasures from the world of *Legend of Sword and Fairy*, renowned for its extraordinary power. Though he hadn't fully mastered it yet, being the system's host allowed him to use it in a limited capacity.

The moment the Fire Spirit Pearl appeared, the destructive high-temperature beam ceased to harm him.

Jaxon grinned in relief, "This really is a treasure worthy of Nuwa. Amazing!"

Loki's smug expression vanished. His shock was palpable, "How is this possible?"

Before he could dwell on it, Thor returned, accompanied by Sif and the other warriors.

"Loki, stop this madness!" Thor pleaded, "We need to end this before more lives are lost."

But Loki was beyond reason. Driven by ambition and resentment, he refused to yield.

"Anyone who challenges the might of the gods will pay the price!" Loki declared.

Thor, however, had matured through his trials. He approached Loki with a serious expression.

"Loki, I know what you want." He began, "If it's the throne you desire, I'll relinquish it."

Sif and the others gasped. The throne, a symbol of ultimate power and prestige, was something no one had expected Thor to forsake.

Loki was equally stunned, "You'd give up the throne? Why?"

Thor hesitated for a moment, then spoke with conviction.

"I am not a worthy king. For the sake of Asgard's warriors, for the safety of the Nine Realms, and for you, my brother... I'll step aside."

Loki's eyes glistened with tears. For a fleeting moment, he considered abandoning his schemes and joining forces with Thor. Yet his darker impulses won out.

He masked his emotions, maintaining his resolve to eliminate Thor.

Seeing that the Destroyer was ineffective against Jaxon, Loki devised a new plan—using the Rainbow Bridge to obliterate the planet.

"Very well." Loki said with feigned acceptance, "I'll forgive their crimes. But you must return to Asgard and renounce your claim to the throne before all."

Thor agreed without hesitation. To him, ensuring peace was more important than his exile.

Loki smirked inwardly, 'Thor, my brother, this will be your undoing.'

---

Loki issued commands to retreat.

"Warriors of Asgard, prepare to leave! Destroyer, stand down!"

Asgard's forces, battered but alive, regrouped. Their injuries were severe but not fatal, thanks to Jaxon's restraint with Mjolnir's power.

Jaxon, however, felt uneasy about Loki's sudden acquiescence.

'What's he planning?'

A chilling thought struck him—Loki might use the Rainbow Bridge as a weapon.

"If that's his plan, I need to stop him." Jaxon muttered.

Nearby, Mjolnir fell to the ground after slipping off the Destroyer. Jaxon took a moment to test a theory: while the Destroyer couldn't lift the hammer, it also wasn't restrained by it.

Satisfied with his findings, Jaxon watched the Asgardians retreat and resolved to follow them to Asgard if needed.

Loki, upon returning to the divine realm, faced his injured troops with disdain.

"Warriors of Asgard, you've failed against a mortal. Such humiliation will not happen again! Seek treatment at once."

He then turned to Thor and his companions.

"Take Thor to the dungeons." Loki ordered, rejecting Sif's suggestion to remain together.

With everyone dismissed, Loki turned to Heimdall.

"Heimdall, leave Mjolnir here for now. Watch that mortal closely—I don't want him anywhere near Asgard."

Heimdall, ever watchful, suspected Loki had darker plans but couldn't decipher them just yet.

"His ability allows him to get here without going through the Bifrost. I can't stop him."

Just when Heimdall relaxed his vigilance, Loki suddenly pulled out the Ice Box.

A surge of cold energy erupted, engulfing Heimdall and freezing him into an ice sculpture.

Caught off guard by the sudden attack, Heimdall could do nothing to resist. While this wouldn't kill him outright, the freezing power immobilized him and began damaging his body.

Helpless, Heimdall stared at Loki as the Rainbow Bridge activated and the Frost Giants emerged.

'Loki, are you betraying Asgard?'

Heimdall couldn't comprehend Loki's true motives and assumed he had turned traitor.

In reality, this was only part of Loki's elaborate plan.

---

Alarms echoed through the halls of Asgard's palace. Chaos erupted across the realm as Loki made his way to the palace.

Without hesitation, he pursued his plan: protect Odin, safeguard Frigga, and slay Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants.

---

At the same time, Thor, accompanied by Sif and the Warriors Three, was en route to the dungeons when they were ambushed by Frost Giants.

Their sheer numbers left the group uneasy.

"This... this is impossible." Volstagg exclaimed, "With Heimdall guarding the Bifrost, how could so many Frost Giants enter Asgard?"

"Now's not the time for questions!" Fandral shot back, readying his weapon.

The group fought fiercely, but Thor, reduced to mortality, could only stand aside.

"Sif, protect Thor and get him out of here!" Hogun ordered.

"I'm not leaving!" Sif snapped, her instincts as a warrior refusing to let her retreat.

But Thor, powerless and defenseless, was at grave risk.

---

Thor, listening to the blaring alarms, felt an overwhelming sense of guilt and despair.

'This is all my fault. My arrogance caused this. My friends, my family—everyone is suffering because of me.'

Desperation gripped him. Thor stepped forward, raising his voice to the Frost Giants.

"Stop! I am the one responsible for all of this. Tell your king I, Thor, am willing to face justice! Let my life pay the price for peace between our realms!"

The Frost Giants sneered at his plea.

"Now you seek peace? After you barged into Jotunheim, flaunting your might? Who do you think you are?"

One of the giants struck Thor with his club, sending him crashing to the ground.

"Thor!" Sif and the others cried out in horror.

Thor lay motionless, teetering on the brink of death.

In the haze of near-death, Thor saw visions of Asgard in flames. Sif and his companions lay lifeless, his parents slain by Laufey, and the Nine Realms plunged into endless war.

A deep sense of powerlessness consumed him.

*No... I must rise! I must fight!*

Mjolnir, sensing Thor's transformation, flew to his side. As it landed in his grasp, the God of Thunder was reborn.

With his power and hammer restored, Thor unleashed a storm of destruction upon the Frost Giants, obliterating them effortlessly.

"You go secure the palace and eliminate any remaining intruders." Thor commanded his friends. "I'll stop Loki!"

Meanwhile, in the palace, Laufey and his Frost Giants had overwhelmed Odin's guards. As Laufey stood over the Allfather, who lay in the Odinsleep, he couldn't help but gloat.

"At last, Odin. The great king falls, and Asgard will be mine! I will rule the Nine Realms!"

Frigga, wielding her magic, tried to stop him, but she was no match for the King of the Frost Giants.

"The one who ends your reign, Odin, is none other than Laufey, the King of Jotunheim!" He declared, ready to strike.

But before Laufey could deliver the killing blow, a blast of energy struck him.

It was Loki, wielding Gungnir, Odin's spear.

Caught off guard, Laufey staggered back, wounded but still alive.

Confusion clouded his face.

'We were allies. We were supposed to destroy Odin together! Why would Loki turn on me?'

Before Laufey could find an answer, Loki channeled Gungnir's full power, unleashing a devastating attack. Laufey, along with his remaining guards, was annihilated.

Turning to Frigga, Loki checked to ensure she was unharmed. Despite his complicated feelings about his heritage, his love for Frigga remained sincere.

"Mother, I arrived as soon as I could. I never imagined the Frost Giants would invade Asgard."

Loki's tone shifted as he continued, "But this ends now. I will activate the Bifrost and destroy Jotunheim completely. They will never threaten us again!"

Frigga, horrified, shook her head, "No, Loki! If you do this, you'll incite fear and chaos across the Nine Realms. Your father would never allow it!"

But Loki, consumed by ambition, was unmoved, "I'll do whatever it takes to protect you and father. No one will hurt us again."

Thor arrived just in time to hear Loki's declaration.

"Loki! Stop this madness!" Thor shouted, "I told you I don't want the throne. You don't have to prove yourself this way!"

Loki's face twisted in anger, "Thor, in mere days, you've become weak and pathetic. I'll show Father who truly deserves to rule!"

Ignoring Frigga's protests, Loki fled, heading for the Rainbow Bridge.

"Mother, stay with Father. I'll stop him." Thor promised.

---

At the edge of the Bifrost, Loki began channeling its energy, aiming to obliterate Jotunheim. But to his surprise, Heimdall had already been freed. Standing beside him was Jaxon.

Loki's eyes narrowed in hatred, "You again, mortal! How dare you interfere?"

Jaxon smirked, standing confidently, "Stopping you is kind of my thing. I can't let you destroy Jotunheim—or Earth."

Loki laughed mockingly, "You? A mortal, standing in my way? Pathetic."

He fired a blast of energy from Gungnir. The raw power of Odin's spear surged toward Jaxon, who barely had time to summon an energy barrier to shield himself.
