Chapter 12: I, the Crown Prince of the Demon Court, Become the Sage Master of Humanity

Despite his status as the eldest of the Ten Golden Crows, Xia Tian felt unease—for destiny had marked him for doom in this treacherous epoch. Unlike Lu Ya, his younger sibling destined to rise anew, his fate seemed sealed, foreshadowed by the very tides of the universe. Yet, with the acquisition of the Hongmeng Purple Qi, a glimmer of hope emerged. If Di Jun could ascend to sainthood, the tides of fate would inevitably shift, securing the Demon Court’s survival and safeguarding Xia Tian’s precarious existence. After all, a saint’s will commands the Dao, transcending mere destiny.

Although Xia Tian possessed the luxury of an alternative—his soul might depart this realm and traverse new worlds through the mysterious portal of the Honghuang Gate—he dared not risk it. The thought of annihilation, where both body and soul perished entirely, weighed heavily on him. Furthermore, the loss of his Golden Crow vessel would sever his link to this magnificent plane, denying him future access to the treasures of Honghuang. Such an outcome was unacceptable.

As he gazed upon the vast expanse of Honghuang, Xia Tian’s attention drifted toward the burgeoning Human Clan. Despite his current embodiment as a Golden Crow prince, the essence of his humanity persisted—a deep-seated identity that beckoned him to explore this newly created race.

The Human Clan, though nascent, had flourished rapidly since their divine creation by the esteemed Nuwa. With a population nearing tens of billions, they were now a force to be reckoned with in Honghuang. The dissemination of the Golden Core Dao by the Supreme Saint had further bolstered their capabilities, allowing a select few to ascend to the celestial realm of immortality. Among them, the three Human Ancestors stood tall, achieving the formidable realm of Primordial Immortality. However, the majority remained at the foundational stages, their cultivation journeys only beginning.

Despite their modest power, the Human Clan’s potential was undeniable. Born with innate Taoist physiques and deeply favoured by the heavens, their future prominence was assured. As the destined protagonists of the epoch, their rise would eclipse the fading glory of the Demon and Wu Clans.

Xia Tian resolved to establish a foothold among humanity, envisioning an alliance that would secure both their prosperity and his ambitions. With such aspirations in mind, he traversed the void, swiftly arriving at the domain of the Human Clan. Here, he observed their struggles and triumphs, silently admiring their tenacity.

Through subtle interventions, Xia Tian ingratiated himself into their society, becoming a revered figure among a prominent tribal settlement. His insights, drawn from the advancements of future worlds, introduced revolutionary methods that empowered the Human Clan to thrive amid the dangers of Honghuang. He refrained, however, from divulging knowledge too advanced for their era, ensuring a balance between progress and tradition.

One day, as Xia Tian meditated in a grand grey temple—the ceremonial hub of the Bear Tribe, the Human Clan’s foremost settlement—an elder burst in, his face etched with urgency.

“Sage Master! A monstrous beast has invaded our lands, wreaking havoc upon our people. Your intervention is our only hope!” he implored.

Rising from his tranquil state, Xia Tian nodded solemnly. “Lead the way,” he commanded, following the elder to the outskirts of the settlement.

Before him lay a scene of devastation. A titanic, snow-white tiger, adorned with wings, rampaged through the tribe, its predatory fury unrelenting. Xia Tian’s expression hardened as he extended his hand. A colossal palm, vast enough to shroud the heavens, materialised above the beast. With an earth-shattering force, it descended, subduing the monstrous creature in an instant. Immobilised, the tiger’s ferocity dissipated, its immense form shrinking until it fit within Xia Tian’s grasp.

The gathered tribespeople erupted in jubilant cheers. “Sage Master is invincible!” they cried, their voices resounding with reverence.

Acknowledging their adulation with a slight nod, Xia Tian returned to his temple. There, he contemplated the broader implications of his presence within the Human Clan. Can the demons be persuaded to safeguard humanity rather than exploit them? If so, the tragedies of history might be rewritten.

For now, the bond between the Human Clan and the Demon Court remained amicable. As creations of Nuwa, a demon saint, humanity was perceived by many demons as kin. Yet, historical records forewarned of an inevitable schism. The discovery that consuming humans could enhance demonic cultivation, coupled with humanity’s latent ability to counter the Wu Clan, would incite conflict of unprecedented magnitude.

Reflecting on these foreboding events, Xia Tian resolved to preempt the cycle of animosity. By fostering mutual respect and collaboration between the two clans, he aspired to avert the catastrophic downfall that history foretold.
