Chapter 45: The Chaos Immortal Island of the Eastern Sea – A Multiverse in Disguise

The current prominence of the demon and witch clans belied an inevitable truth—decline awaited them both. This was common knowledge among the direct disciples of the Sages, who understood the workings of the Tian Dao.

[Tian Dao (天道): The Heavenly Way or Mandate, representing the overarching natural laws and collective will of the Sages in Daoist cosmology.].

No matter how powerful, without achieving Sainthood, all beings were mere pawns of fate, destined to perish under the will of the heavens. The so-called “Heaven’s Mandate” was nothing more than the collective will of the Sages.

“True,” Guang Chengzi nodded, calming his jealousy. “Even with peerless talent, extraordinary destiny, and the ability to become an innate Dao Lord in just 100,000 years, what of it? Without achieving Sainthood, one remains a pawn, destined to fall in the great calamity.”

Meanwhile, the mighty beings across the Primordial World reeled from Xia Tian’s newly revealed strength.

“Could he have gained something from the Human Clan that enabled his ascension to Dao Lord?”

“An astounding talent, but ultimately a demon born under the Heavenly Court’s luck. What secrets lie hidden within him to facilitate such rapid progress?”

Their speculations only deepened. If they knew Xia Tian had already reached the pinnacle of the Da Luo realm—on par with beings like Emperor Jun, Taiyi, and Zhen Yuanzi—the shock would be immeasurable.

Among Da Luo beings, differences existed. One could be an ordinary Da Luo or a peak Da Luo. An Ordinary Da Luo was newly ascended, with limited mastery over the realm. The Peak Da Luo was The pinnacle of Da Luo, with essence nearing the threshold of Sainthood.

A peak Da Luo could mortally wound or even kill an ordinary Da Luo if the latter chose to stand and fight. However, an ordinary Da Luo intent on fleeing would remain beyond the peak Da Luo’s reach due to the fundamental equality of their realm.

Even if three ordinary Da Luo joined forces, they could only injure or kill a single peak Da Luo at great cost. The price of such a victory often included the death of at least one ordinary Da Luo.

At this moment, in the depths of the Eastern Sea, Xia Tian stood before the legendary Chaos Immortal Island.

[Chaos Immortal Island (混沌仙岛): A mythical realm within the Eastern Sea, serving as a hidden multiverse and home to unparalleled treasures.].

“So this is the fabled Chaos Immortal Island. It’s truly marvellous, filled with boundless mysteries,” Xia Tian murmured, his gaze fixed on the magnificent sight before him.

He had come seeking the Kongtong Seal, a Human Clan treasure rumoured to reside here. Legends also spoke of the God-Slaying Spear, an innate treasure hidden within the island.

[Kongtong Seal (崆峒印): A legendary artefact symbolising authority and legitimacy in ancient Chinese mythology.].

The vast island stood shrouded in chaotic mist, veiling endless timelines—past, present, and future—all interwoven with the great Dao itself. The sheer complexity rendered the island invisible even to Sages unless they actively sought it.

Xia Tian’s discovery was not by chance. Through the Gates of the Cosmos, he had traversed lower-tier versions of the Primordial World and calculated the Chaos Immortal Island’s location in the higher-tier realm upon his return.

Even if a Sage wished to find the island, they could succeed if they had the intention to search. However, none were aware of its existence, let alone curious enough to seek it out.

To clarify, this Chaos Immortal Island was distinct from the legendary Three Immortal Islands—Penglai, Fangzhang, and Yingzhou—occupied by the Sanxiao Sisters of the Jie Sect. Though those islands contained numerous treasures, including superior innate spiritual artefacts, the Chaos Immortal Island’s value far surpassed them.

Without hesitation, Xia Tian stepped onto the island. The formations guarding it were formidable, capable of deterring innate Dao Lords. However, as a Da Luo of peak mastery, Xia Tian breached these defences effortlessly and entered unnoticed.

Once inside, he was momentarily stunned.

“This entire island is a multiverse?”

Before him lay an expanse of endless chaos, vast and boundless. In the depths of this chaotic void, clusters of worlds floated together like islands in a cosmic sea.

These clusters comprised countless world groups, numbering in the quintillions, and even beyond measure. Worlds of all sizes—small, medium, and large—formed intricate layers of dimensions, overlapping infinitely in a mesmerising display.

The Chaos Immortal Island was not merely a landmass; it was a full-fledged multiverse.

Though it was not the most powerful multiverse, its composition was remarkable. It contained trillions upon trillions of large worlds, albeit with a finite upper limit. However, the smaller worlds beneath were truly limitless, breaking free of the conventional rules of numerical conservation.

The multiverse’s expanse was therefore infinite, with its vastness constrained only by the number of large worlds within it.
