Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Three-Way Battle
Slug!
Raditz was startled, momentarily taken aback. He cursed himself for becoming too absorbed in the battle with Frieza, failing to notice another powerful energy signature approaching.
Lord Slug was equally surprised, exchanging shocked glances with Raditz.
How did he appear here? The same question crossed both their minds simultaneously.
In a mountain crevice below, Turles hid in the shadows, quietly observing everything. He held one of Slug's henchmen—Medamatcha—by the throat, smiling triumphantly. "Well done. You performed excellently. The fool has finally arrived."
"Then... will you let me go?" the henchman asked.
"Of course. I'll see you off."
Turles's smile widened as he loosened his grip, allowing Medamatcha to escape. The henchman's neck, finally released from Turles's grasp, felt immediate relief. He took a deep breath, feeling reborn, glanced timidly at Turles, then turned to leave.
Less than a second after taking flight, Turles's figure blurred as he moved past Medamatcha. A sharp "click" echoed—the henchman's body continued flying forward, but his head had already rolled to the ground.
Turles's gloomy, terrifying laughter followed: "Hehehe, now Slug's three Dragon Balls and the one here are all mine! And I've discovered the location of the last one. I am the ultimate victor." He touched the scouter beside his left ear, his face filled with fanaticism.
The only functioning scouter on Namek was now in Turles's possession.
His energy manipulation skills weren't particularly refined—he could only hide his own energy signature but couldn't properly sense others. The scouter compensated for this deficiency.
After acquiring it, he had detected the battle between the Ginyu Force, Raditz, and the others. He'd found Slug's subordinate along the way and coerced him into sending a message to Lord Slug, luring the Namekian to the battleground.
Turles had planned to inform Frieza as well, hoping to instigate an all-out battle between them, but Frieza had arrived on his own! This saved Turles considerable effort while providing him with free entertainment.
Currently, the scouter remained switched off. Turles dared not use it carelessly—pressing the wrong button might cause it to explode from detecting excessive power levels. He wanted to preserve it for later use. Stealthily, he moved across several island mountains, concealing himself behind tall rocks while monitoring Frieza's movements.
Even from this distance, he could sense that incredibly evil and terrifying aura.
Frieza clutched the Dragon Ball with both hands, fearful of being robbed again. Without his subordinates' support, he felt somewhat vulnerable. Rolling his eyes, Frieza spotted a small island in the distance. He weighed the Dragon Ball in his hands, snorted coldly, and threw it.
Whoosh!
The Dragon Ball arced perfectly toward the small island, scraping the ground before embedding itself in the rocks.
After confirming nobody had witnessed his action, Frieza smiled with relief before rushing back toward Raditz!
As long as he knew the Dragon Ball's location, he remained invincible—or so Frieza thought.
The moment he departed, a figure appeared on the calm sea surface. Turles licked his lips and slowly flew toward the island, cautiously approaching his imminent triumph.
...
"Raditz! Don't bother trying to escape!" Frieza yelled, his voice creating ripples across the water. His figure, wrapped in energy, pushed away the water's surface, splashing crystal-clear droplets as he sped forward.
He flew back to the battlefield, then stopped suddenly.
What the hell? Slug was here too?
The gigantic Namekian was fighting with Raditz. Despite the enormous size difference between them, Raditz maintained the upper hand after several exchanges!
"This one's here too? Perfect timing—I'll eliminate you both together!"
Frieza's gloomy eyes flashed with cold light as he launched forward. A streak of energy crossed the sky, and in an instant, he positioned himself between the two combatants.
Slug had just thrown a punch, but Raditz nimbly evaded it, causing the Namekian's fist to swing through empty air.
At that moment, a fierce battle cry erupted along the shore as Frieza seized the opportunity to enter Slug's defensive space, delivering a powerful kick to his chin. The tremendous force sent the mountain-like body crashing to the ground, half-submerged in water that splashed upward like a curtain.
Raditz's eyes narrowed as he rapidly backed away.
But Frieza's figure flickered, already flying toward him—faster than Raditz could retreat!
"HA!" Raditz fired countless energy bombs like a machine gun, overwhelming Frieza with attacks while continuing to maintain distance between them.
The energy bombs formed a dense net, obscuring Frieza's vision, but Raditz knew this could only buy him time. Sooner or later...
"Where exactly are you aiming?" A cold voice suddenly came from behind him.
Sooner rather than later, Frieza had already circumvented the barrage.
Whirling around, Raditz found himself unable to move. Frieza had encased him in a sphere of light that imprisoned him completely, preventing even the slightest movement. Frieza's eyes gleamed as he shouted: "Take this!"
Following his cry, the light sphere discharged an energy blast, generating over 20 meters of smoke and debris. Raditz was catapulted backward, smashing through several mountain layers before landing in a gravel field.
"FRIEZA!"
Suddenly, another shout came from elsewhere on the ground. Frieza turned to look, momentarily shocked.
Kakarot?!
After taking that kick earlier, Goku should have been nearly dead! Frieza recalled how Raditz had mysteriously regained his strength and become even stronger. Was this some Saiyan ability?
No—Frieza caught a glimpse of Piccolo, who had also recovered. This was a Namekian, not a Saiyan.
"What are these bastards hiding from me?" A shadow of doubt crossed Frieza's mind as he looked at Goku, the corner of his mouth twisting into a sneer. "I'll destroy one of you first, then we'll see if you can resurrect yourselves!"
He extended his palm, launching a purple energy bomb straight toward Goku.
Goku, who had been flying toward Frieza, saw the purple energy bomb approaching. Using all his strength, he swung his arms suddenly, deflecting the energy bomb skyward.
"So this one has grown stronger too..."
Frieza murmured, slightly retracting his palm before pointing all five fingers in the same direction, firing a Death Beam.
Successive Death Beams shot forth one after another, strafing Goku like machine-gun fire. Goku dodged left and right, not daring to take the attacks head-on. This technique, which concentrated combat power at a single point before explosive release, was often devastatingly powerful—one careless move and he'd be pierced through!
"Hahahahaha! Saiyan monkey, how delightful to watch you jumping back and forth!"
"Then your delight ends here!"
"What?" Frieza startled at the cold voice directly behind him, almost touching his back.
Looking back, he saw Slug's giant hands spread wide before crashing down like a mountain falling from the sky. Caught unprepared, Frieza was smashed into the water...
