Chapter 2: A Forming Plan.
Eventually, Barricade arrived in the city center of Huntsville before he slowed down as he drove into the city. Samuel had picked him over other Decepticons because his disguise as a Police Crusider was effective.
That way, he could use the status of the police to keep people in line around him. From the look of it, it was effective since cars and even people in the area made sure to act normal not to catch the cop's attention.
Suddenly, Barricade's voice came from the radio.
"We have arrived in Huntsville, My Lord? Do you have a particular destination in the city in mind?"
Samuel glanced around as he didn't have a reason to just stop there. Since he was in Marvel, things were going to be hectic for a while especially since he had no idea if he was in the Cinematic Universe of Comics.
If it was in the comics, he would face danger everywhere, but that kind of danger would make him stronger. As such, he had to settle down somewhere. Doing it in a city would be counter-productive as there were cameras everywhere and so many people would see something eventually.
He had to find somewhere isolated where he could study his own powers away from prying eyes.
"No, I have no particular destination in mind. Just drive around for now. That will give me the time to think of something."
"As you wish."
He sighed as he didn't have a goal as he had just been an assassin for his 30 years of life. He wanted to share his life with his girlfriend, but that plan died when she did. Now, here he was as well in a new world with nothing to his name except what he could make and his magic.
He continued to gaze out the window as Barricade cruised through the city catching the eye of many people. Eventually, he leaned back as he decided to not mope or let the past keep him down.
He had a new life to live and he had to make it a good one. Unlike his past where he answered to others here, he had no one, but himself to answer to. As such, after thinking about it, he made up his mind.
"Barricade, I want you to drive North. Montana should be a good place as it will be near the Canadian border and I could make a trip toward Alaska if I need to. It is one of the most sparsely populated states where I will be able to experiment in peace."
"Your will is my command."
With his choice made, Barricade began to drive North as Samuel had instructed. As for Samuel, he closed his eyes and began to focus on his body. As a World Sage, he wasn't technically human as his entire being was quite different.
For one, his body continuously produced mana and magic in such quantities it became liquid. That liquified mana flowed through his veins combined with his unique blood forming an elixir of immortality that would keep him alive even through grivious wounds.
As for his mind and soul, both had evolved in such a way to be incomparable to a normal human. His talent for magic was extreme and even if he took it easy he would be able to make use of power magic.
He did have the original novel he once read that this bloodline came from. As such, he followed the example of the main character Ahrimane Blade. He focused in his head on the main elemental affinities as there were eight of them.
They were Water, Earth, Wind, Fire, Lightning, Spirit, Darkness and Light. As for non-elemental magics, they were Mind, Space, Soul, Neutra, Life, Death, and Time. This also didn't take into account the different compound magics where a mage combined different elements.
While Barricade drove, he raised his hands before he focused his mind on the elements. When he did so, above his hand, eight different orbs meaning he had an affinity for all eight elements and very strongly.
Arima had the best affinity for the Darkness, Lightning, and Fire elements, but he could improve them through his unique bloodline as a Life Hunter. A World Sage was powerful, but Life Hunters were effectively cheats who could feed on the life force of their victims to increase their power.
As for him, from the eight elemental orbs, his strongest affinities was an extreme affinity for the Darkness element which was a result of his Sacred Gear. After that was Fire, Lightning, Light, and Spirit.
As he gazed at the elemental orbs in his hands, he smiled as he could use the example of Arima a Life Hunter. Arima used Latin incantations for a lot of his spells, and he could follow the example or create his own magics.
"I can use his example as a reference, but my magic will be different. A Life Hunter and World Sage was quite different other than our affinities."
He wanted to keep testing new things, but he rather not blow himself up so he stopped for now. Instead, he just relaxed for the rest of the drive which took him through Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, and finally Montana.
Since Barricade didn't need to sleep or stop, he could drive nonstop. In a little over 24 hours, Samuel had arrived in Montana. When they entered the state they saw a sign saying Welcome To Montana.
"We are here, my Lord."
Samuel nodded.
"So we are. Barricade, continue to drive until we reach somewhere away from people. Preferably somewhere isolated."
Barricade continued driving and just like Samuel said went somewhere far more open and less populated. Once they got somewhere that Samuel liked Barricade stopped moving.
The passenger side door opened so Samual got out of the war. Barricade then transformed back into his robot mode which was around 16 feet tall. Quite large, but not gigantic or anything.
Samuel began to glance around which Barricade noted.
"Shall I check the surroundings?"
Samuel shook his head.
"No. Pick me up."
Barricade extended a hand which Samuel stepped onto. The Cybertronian placed him on his shoulder before he walked off the road toward the open country. Samuel placed his hands behind his back as he thought of the many creations he could make. His creations could include things like a Barricade, and a living machine what was the limit?
Could he make a god or a god-like entity to serve him? Something like a Celestialsapian, or a Kryptonian, or even Saiyan? Annihilation Maker as a Sacred Gear was considered the one with the most 'bugs'.
If it was placed in the hands of someone with no control, they could destroy the world if their creations went wild. The user could even create fictional monsters from movies as long as they could picture them and had the mana to create them.
Earth was protected by many powerful beings, but it was also coveted by other dimensions which was why the Ancient One and their sorcerors protected this place from interdimensional threats.
As for him, he had no desire to rule the world as he wasn't a conqueror like Thanos and he preferred to simply live his life. As such, he made his choice to live on his own for the moment. Eventually, he might find others who he could care about, but for now, that didn't seem likely.
Samuel clasped his hands together as he focused on his target. His shadow began to expand as he drew on his vast mana which was self-replenishing. His shadow grew larger and larger until something jumped out of it.
It made Barricade look small as the beast he just made was a Zinogre. A Wolf like Thunder Wyvern from Monster Hunter. The beast was 18 meters long or 60 feet while standing around 6 meters or almost 20 feet.
The giant Wyvern lowered its head waiting to be mounted.
"Barricade, get on."
Barricade walked toward the Zinogre before he hefted himself and Samuel onto the giant creature's back. With that, the Wolf Wyvern roared before running off into the wilds of Montana.
---
While Samuel and his two creations were in Montana, back at Captain Joe Byrd Cemetery where he had broken out of the grave was being examined. The entire graveyard had been closed off as a gigantic explosion had erupted from a recently dug grave.
Two officers were standing above the empty grave while a few forensics were inside the grave taking samples of the soil as it had turned to glass.
"Who was buried here, Paul?"
Paul, an older officer ran a hand down his beard as he spoke on the prisoner.
"Nasty piece of work, a bastard by the name of Melvin Wilkins. Mass Serial Killer with more than 50 victims tied to his killings. He was executed just days ago and buried here as he had no family to claim him. We thought that was the end of it, but then people reported a gigantic explosion just yesterday.
When the first responding officers showed up, the entire grave was smoking and glowing bright hot."
The first officer looked into the empty grave before asking something.
"Did anyone see anything? Anything at all."
Paul shook his head.
"No one was in the area, but those who called it in said that a bright blue ray blasted into the sky before exploding. That was all they said."
While the two officers were talking, a black car drove up to the graveyard. From the car emerged two agents in black and white suits. They crossed the police tape before they walked up to the two talking officers.
"Who is in charge of this crime scene?"
Paul stepped forward.
"I am."
The two agents showed their S.H.I.E.L.D credentials to the officer.
"I am agent Rory Watson and this is my partner, Sasha Harper, we are with the Strategic Homeland Security Enforcement and Logistics Department. Tell us, what are we dealing with?"
Paul led the two agents toward the grave.
"Not sure, from what our guys have found out something blasted out of the grave. There was a giant blast that erupted from this grave which is now empty. As for the deceased, it was a serial killer executed by lethal injection just days ago.
A madman by the name of Melvin Wilkins, The Butcher a big serial killer in the 40s and 50s. He had been on death row all this time before he was buried here. Now, his body is gone."
Agent Watson kneeled down by the side of the grave before looking at the dirt that had been turned to glass around the grave. When he stood back up he turned back to Officer Paul.
"The explosion came from the grave?"
Paul nodded.
"From inside the coffin."
Agent Watson sighed as the chances that Wilkins came back to life with powers would not be impossible.
"Damn it. I will have to call this in, chances are we are dealing with a pissed-off serial killer back from the dead."
The officer found that ridiculous.
"Impossible, the dead are dead. What nonsense are you talking about?"
Watson ignored him before he pulled out his phone and called it in.
"S.H.I.E.L.D will be taking over have your men leave the scene."
The officer frowned.
"No way, this is my town, my jurisdiction."
"Not anymore."
---
As for Samuel, thanks to his new mount he had reached a a very remote region of Montana that saw very few people. When he arrived he jumped off the Zinoger along side Barricade.
He glanced around at the open wilderness with a smile.
"This should be good for now."
Barricade glanced at the giant Zinoger before he asked a question.
"What are you going to do, my Lord?"
"I am going to begin my experiments. I will be creating a small army of monsters that will serve me to give me the time to experiment on my magic. Once I have a handle on my abilities I can later make a deal with the powers in charge.
Either with the US government or S.H.I.E.LD. Not as a member of them, but as someone with my own agenda. For now, we lay low which means I will need to start my research into my magic now. As for you Barricade, you have served me well and I will need your ability to hide in plain sight in the future."
Barricade bowed low.
"I will follow your will, my Lord."
"I know you will. Until then, stick around."
With that, Samuel sat down before closing his eyes. It was time to test the limits of his magics and see what he could create with them. This was going to be fun.
