I am the Emperor of Humanity across the Multiverse

Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Serum, Mass-Produced "Rebuilt Soldiers"?

From the sealed window overlooking the entire simulated town.

Standing beside the window, Samuel Young wore a custom black suit adorned with gold threads, his hands habitually clasped behind his back. He observed the experimental clone soldiers as the battle reached its most intense phase.

"Yes, everything seems normal. No emotional fluctuations, which aligns with my expectations. Good."

Alexia, with her long blonde hair tied up and a white lab coat draped over her shoulders, was focused on the holographic screen in front of her, murmuring to herself quietly.

"Not bad, not bad!"

At that moment, Alexia waved away the holographic screen and turned slightly, looking up at Samuel Young, who towered nearly a meter above her.

It wasn't that she was short—her height was 173 cm—but Samuel Young was simply too tall. Even without wearing his specialized prototype power armor, his height exceeded 2.6 meters, nearly 2.7 meters.

However, Alexia was already accustomed to the significant height difference. After looking up at Samuel, she quickly reined in her earlier bright smile and, as if flipping a switch, asked with a more measured tone:

"So, what do you think? Are you satisfied with this new generation of clone soldiers?"

"Very good, but what concerns me more is whether they can remain stable without human control," Samuel raised the question.

"That's something I can't give a definite answer to," Alexia replied, turning back to the simulated town where the battle was nearing its conclusion. She continued, "But I can assure you that if they encounter enemies like you with supernatural abilities and lose control of their bodies, the self-destruct chip implanted in the back of their heads will take care of any potential rebellion for the company."

"Hmm."

Hearing this, Samuel nodded slightly.

In fact, three years ago, Atlas had already incorporated the step of inserting self-destruct chips into the brain surgery of the clone production line.

This method of implanting self-destruct chips essentially added an extra layer of safety for the AECS team leaders responsible for controlling the clones.

In emergency situations, as Alexia mentioned, the AECS tactical team leaders could directly trigger the chip's detonation.

The clone soldiers were already regarded by Atlas employees as weapons, so there was no debate over "human rights violations."

Moreover, as the boss, Samuel had no intention of forcibly implanting self-destruct chips into his employees or soldiers to "lock in loyalty."

If he were to do that, it would betray the very principles on which he founded Atlas, causing distrust among his employees and soldiers, and ultimately leading to the company's collapse—essentially self-destruction.

The experimental clone soldiers they were discussing, although produced similarly to previous generations, had some fundamental differences.

First, their physical fitness.

Through continuous experimentation using Samuel's cloned bodies and various viruses such as the Progenitor Virus, the T-Virus, and the Veronica Virus, Alexia and her research team successfully developed a serum in May 2000.

Subsequent tests showed that the serum had minimal side effects on D-level personnel participating in the experiments, providing a low-level enhancement of their physical abilities, bringing them to the level of professional athletes.

It's worth noting that Atlas had always provided ample nutrition for D-level personnel, but only a few of them maintained the habit of exercising in their cells. Most of them retained average levels of strength, speed, and reflexes.

Thus, reaching the level of professional athletes was already considered a very good result for the tests.

Once Alexia confirmed the serum's stability and safety, she selected ten elite members from ARS, AECS, and ODST units. With their consent, they underwent a fifteen-day internal testing phase.

The results showed that each elite member experienced moderate enhancements in physical performance, with an average increase of 1.4 to 1.7 times their pre-injection data.

For example, an AECS soldier who was 185 cm tall, weighed 100 kg, and had a well-built physique, had a personal best deadlift of 342 kg, about 3.42 times his body weight.

This performance would place him in the elite category in the professional field.

However, after receiving the serum, this AECS soldier easily broke his previous record, lifting his maximum weight to 662 kg—exceeding half a ton.

Tests involving running 100 meters, 1,000 meters, or dodging incoming tennis balls all shattered previous human records.

According to Alexia's calculations, the serum's enhancement effect was permanent, with the augmentation only beginning to decline gradually after the user reached the age of sixty.

Elite soldiers like Janice Thompson, Rod Hoinel, and others who participated in the interception operations had received injections of this serum, codenamed "Inquis."

The most crucial point was that, compared to the costly gene-modifying injectable nanorobots that carried the 24th pair of chromosomes, the Inquis serum was more affordable, "cost-effective," and ready for mass production.

Even though gene-enhanced investigators still had a clear advantage over these elite ARS, AECS, and ODST members in terms of raw data, they were vastly outnumbered.

Therefore, Samuel planned to have Atlas' main forces undergo minor enhancements over the next five years to prepare for the escalating interstellar wars.

As for the clone soldiers in the simulated town, they had been accelerated in their growth while in the cloning vats by using nutrient solutions that contained the Inquis serum.

This step ensured their performance was comparable to, or even better than, the incredibly expensive rebuilt soldiers.

After all, with Atlas' mastery of various advanced biotechnologies, the previously exorbitant costs and hypothetical concepts were slowly becoming reality.
