Chapter 27 - Hive Mind × 7
What I confirmed was that there was a certain psychic flow between the seven Hive Mind main bodies.
At first, I thought they were simply fighting each other using psychic abilities, but that was only for a moment.
When I discovered that the flow of psychic energy repeated regularly and that this psychic flow originated from underground, I observed it in detail with suspicion—and was shocked when I saw the results.
‘…What is this.’
What was occurring underground was a flow of psychic energy moving at a constant speed and transmitting specific information.
Not only that, but pure nutrients and energy were also detected being exchanged, and such flows typically occur only within areas infested by a Hive Mind.
In other words, this essentially means that those seven Hive Minds are actually no different from being a single entity.
‘…Well.’
And when I looked at the battlefield again after realizing the truth, I felt a subtle sense of discomfort that was clearly different from before.
The number of monsters dying is much less than the calculated result, considering it to be an all-out war with everything at stake, and the terrain and biological facilities are hardly being destroyed.
Even the fact that the Hive Mind, which should be the strongest in this situation, isn’t moving, makes it practically certain.
That Hive Mind is a single Hive Mind born from the merging of seven grade 1 Hive Minds.
‘…Is that the main body.’
And the moment I confirmed this, I tried to find the main body of the seven Hive Mind colonies using my detection ability, and I actually managed to discover the main body.
On the surface, it just looks like an ordinary Elder Hive Core type Hive Queen, but… that’s a disguise, and because I’m a monster and simultaneously a grade 10 Hive Mind, I could tell something.
The energy gathered in that body far transcends that of a grade 1 monster, and even such a body is merely an empty shell.
Its—the Hive Mind colony’s main body was the collective intelligence of the Hive Mind itself, created through psychic energy and mental connections.
And this is a dangerously powerful entity beyond imagination.
First of all, purely in terms of grade, it’s grade 0, meaning it’s a top-grade monster, and its main body is the Hive Mind itself.
As long as even one monster that’s part of the Hive Mind survives, it can use that monster as a medium to reconstruct its body through psychic abilities and restore its main body, and even if you try to attack the main body, it’s a psychic being.
As a psychic being is composed solely of psychic energy without any material parts, its main body exists in the psychic dimension, which can be called the back side of reality.
‘Damn it, those bastard developers! What have they done to South Korea!’
Therefore, I vented my anger at the game developers while looking at this cursed Hive Mind, which seemed to be a crisis prepared for the 6th installment.
…Though nothing changed despite that.
※ ※ ※
Although there was a shocking encounter with the Hive Mind, separately from that, I brought back the Hive Flight, which was running out of energy, to the underground airport located near the main base.
The returned Hive Flight immediately went straight to the digestive gland to imprint various information into the storage of the Hive Mind, and began injecting it into the Hive Flight that was recreating its ego.
And as there was quite some time left until the Hive Flight was completed, I looked around this underground airport after a long time—and discovered three monsters being produced here.
The names of these three monsters were Hive Wyvern, Hive Gargoyle, and Hive Wing Drake, respectively.

Biological Weapons
Laser Blaster (C), Plasma Blaster (B)
First, in the case of the Hive Wyvern, it’s a grade 4 small monster specialized for aerial combat, modified in my way from the grade 5 aerial animal-type monster, the wyvern.
If compared to the human military, the Hive Wyvern takes the position of a fighter jet, but that doesn’t mean the Hive Wyvern is really the fighter jet of monsters.
As a living being, its speed limit is around subsonic, but in exchange, the Hive Wyvern has overwhelmingly superior defensive capabilities compared to fighter jets.
The fighter jets of this world are equipped with bio cores and surrounded by force fields, and use monster materials for the outer skin which are light yet sturdy, making them hundreds of times tougher than modern fighter jets, but even this doesn’t match up to the Hive Wyvern.
In addition, the Hive Wyvern has claws and teeth, giving it close combat abilities that can’t be expected from fighter jets, and its long-range firepower is almost equal to that of fighter jets.
The Laser Blaster (C) mounted on the hand parts of both wings functions as a machine gun and medium cannon, and it launches Explosive Psychic Constructs (B) which, although inferior to missiles, can still perform a similar role.
Especially, this monster has a biological weapon called Plasma Blaster (B) in its head part, which, as it was the spear thrower with the highest firepower in the game, can be used as a means to counter larger monsters.
And while the Hive Wyvern plays the role of a versatile fighter jet, there’s also a monster that plays the role of an attack helicopter or ground support aircraft (gunship), in contrast.
This monster, which is classified as a medium-large type as it’s larger than the Hive Wyvern, which is classified as a medium-sized monster if we had to categorize it, I named the Hive Gargoyle.

Biological Weapons
Laser Blaster (C), Psychic Blaster (B), Charge Fist (C)
The name taken from the stone monster in fantasy, and the composition of skills and traits similar to the Hive Wyvern. The appearance of this Hive Gargoyle doesn’t resemble either of them at all.
First, its appearance is like a gorilla, with an oversized upper body and small lower body. However, the face looks like a mix of crustacean and reptile, and the whole body is covered with thick heavy armor.
In addition, a tail divided into several segments like a centipede’s body grows between the two legs, and true to being a flying type monster, there are two pairs of bat-like wings attached to its back.
…Although the wings aren’t very large, they’re just auxiliary, and it actually uses psychic energy for flight.
Anyway, the Hive Gargoyle has a body shape quite similar to a gorilla and matching abilities, and as it has Charge Weapon (Fist) (C), a tier 1 blunt weapon that strikes while surrounded by energy, built into both arms, it’s excellent in close combat.
However, the true value of the Hive Gargoyle comes from attacking ground targets while flying at low altitudes.
The pseudo-missile that launches Explosive Psychic Constructs (B) with the Psychic Blaster (B) is basic, and the firepower of 18 Laser Blasters (C) mounted throughout its body is overwhelming.
The Hive Gargoyle was a monster that seemed to combine an attack helicopter and a gunship, pouring dozens of such powerful heavy weapons towards a single heavily armored target or sweeping away lightly armored infantry.

And the last of the three long-awaited monsters is a large monster I named the Hive Wing Drake.
Its appearance is basically like a Hive Wyvern with its size increased more than three times, but there are clear differences as well.
Solid muscles are attached to the body, and scales and shell-like armor plates are complexly attached over the skin, giving it a much heavier feel compared to the Hive Wyvern.
Also, the lower abdomen is swollen and protected by a shell, and this belly part opens as if splitting in the middle, making it perfect for storing something inside and spitting it out.
Therefore, the three roles I expect from this monster are: bombing, troop transport, and serving as an aerial carrier using humanoid aerial monsters called Hive Starlights.
The storage space in its belly is divided into 10 compartments, and the internal space is ample, and above all, because the divided spaces can be opened separately, it’s fully possible.
Of course, even excluding such transport roles, the Hive Wing Drake is also very strong in close combat as it’s based on the drake, which is classified as a ground dragon species.
Right away, despite being at a disadvantage in close combat against ground-based monsters of the same grade due to being a flying type, the Hive Wing Drake can stand equally against them using its own weapons.
As it’s a transport monster, its durability, which I paid special attention to, is slightly weaker than the Hive Fortress, and in the case of the Psychic Claws attached to its tail or claws, they can produce cutting power beyond imagination by injecting psychic energy.
