I Became a Little Vampire Princess After Being Infected by a Game Virus

Chapter 20: 19. Incomprehensible

Chapter 20: 19. Incomprehensible

“What in the world…?”

Yake stared at the district behind him, engulfed in a sea of flames. What kind of Mage could conjure such a vast inferno capable of burning the entire Old District in an instant?

“Oh? It’s all burned down? Good, I wouldn’t have to clean it up one by one. Those filthy rats in the sewers should all perish at once.”

Aierjisi seemed unfazed. She didn’t care about who did it; in her view, it was a good job since the Old District was filled with thieves and vagrants. Their demise was just fine.

“Aier… did you do this?”

Yake shot an unhappy glance at the Little Princess. The only Mage capable of unleashing such flames could only be her. If it was indeed her doing, then the Little Princess had truly lost her mind in this aspect.

“Are you stupid? Do I look like I have time for this kind of nonsense? Didn’t you follow me into the Old District? You should know whether I could do something like this or not!”

Aierjisi was slightly annoyed. Was Yake not only stupid but also blind? He had been with her this whole time and still doubted her involvement?

“My bad. I think I might have overreacted. I shouldn’t have suspected you; I’m sorry. But who could generate such an extensive fire?”

“Who knows? It doesn’t matter. Whoever it was, it’s none of our business. We got our Token back, and whether the thieves are dead or alive is irrelevant. Let’s go.”

“No. I think I should go back and check. It would be good to save a few people.”

“Huh? Hey Yake, wait up!”

Seeing Yake charge into the fiery chaos without a second thought, Aierjisi had no choice but to stomp her feet and follow him into the inferno.

Of course, the guy was a fool, rushing into a fire without any protection. Sigh, let me, as the owner, generously provide him with a bit of protection.

“Transforming Rainstorm!”

Before entering the blaze, Aierjisi cast a water-type spell in the area to extinguish the raging flames. With the effect of her artificial rain, the fire devouring the district quickly vanished.

“Huh? Is it raining? Well, whatever, the goal’s achieved. This district is now clear, we can move on with the next plan.”

Watching her flames doused by the unexpected rain, Yin didn’t care to ponder the rain’s circumstances. The purpose of clearing the Old District had been fulfilled.

Originally, even if the City Lord hadn’t entrusted Aierjisi’s Token to the thieves, Yin still planned to clear out this area. The City Lord had long wished to demolish and renovate the Old District entirely. However, with so many thieves and vagrants living there, it was too troublesome to drive them out one by one. To take care of this nuisance all at once, the City Lord had given Yin this powerful device to handle these unproductive pests.

“But this power is really strong; just transforming generates such flames?”

“Hey! Are you okay? Wake up!”

As Yin examined the belt, Yake rushed back, kneeling beside the now unconscious Boss, trying to revive him by pouring a health Potion down his throat.

“Who are you?”

Aierjisi also arrived, staring at the transformed Yin. The difference was so stark that the Little Princess didn’t recognize her.

“Greetings, Miss Aierjisi. It seems this is our first encounter in this form; let me revert back for now.”

Removing the belt from her waist, Yin transformed back to her normal self.

“Yin? Is that you? Were those flames just now your doing?”

Seeing that the person in front of her was the woman she intensely disliked made the Little Princess even more cautious. She had sensed strength from Yin before; if the flames were indeed her work, it all made sense.

“Yes. But it seems I went a bit overboard. My first transformation led to such a big fire. I should hold back next time. If I set the City Lord’s property ablaze, that would be bad. Did you get hurt?”

“No. Neither Yake nor I were harmed by the flames. No need for your apology. But were those flames really just a result of your transformation?”

Aierjisi focused on the belt in Yin’s hand, which looked suspiciously like something from a tokusatsu she had seen. But since the City Lord was also from Earth, it made sense if he developed a similar-looking device.

“Exactly. The City Lord really is something, entrusting me with such a powerful Magic Device. I must be really trusted; I’m so happy!”

Yin rubbed her face against the belt, looking utterly delighted.

“Why…?”

“Huh? Did you say something, Mr. Yake?”

Yin tilted her head, looking at Yake, who was squatting next to the Boss’s body.

“Why do this? Those thieves were not that heinous. Why be so cruel?”

Yake yelled at Yin, clearly frustrated that those thieves had met such a fate.

“Why? Isn’t it obvious? They’re useless! In Bield City, we don’t need their kind hanging around. That’s why the City Lord gave me the belt to deal with them.”

Yin didn’t understand; to her, they were merely pests that caused problems just by existing. It was perfectly fine to eliminate them. Why should Yake feel angry about their deaths?

Meanwhile, Aierjisi, although unwilling to admit it, found herself agreeing with Yin about those thieves. They really had no value in living; it was better they were gone.

“That’s not how it works! There can’t possibly be useless people in this world; every single one has their purpose!”

“Incomprehensible. Why does Mr. Yake feel sympathy for these pests? Didn’t they steal the Token from you?”

Even if Yake said that, Yin still couldn’t grasp his perspective.

“You not understanding is correct. Because I can’t understand that guy’s thought process either. That’s just how Yake is. Maybe that’s what they call humanity?”

Aierjisi chimed in. Yake was simple-minded; if something seemed wrong to him, no amount of explanation could change his mind.

But that was exactly why she had rescued him from the Ruins and took him as her servant.
