Chapter 38

[Summary of Goddesses in the SEH Worldview]
A bomb had been dropped on the gallery. The owner of the bomb: History Buff. A man whose presence had been so faint that one might have wondered if he even existed, but who had quickly gained recognition alongside the Gallery Master, El Grace, becoming a named user in the gallery. However, perhaps because his fame was linked to someone else, his activity in the gallery had gradually faded after the Gallery Master’s disappearance, and recently, he had only been posting perfunctory “proof-of-life” messages.
But today, a truly informative post filled with History Buff’s dedication had appeared in the gallery. Just like when he had first detailed the characteristics of the ancient era. And the topic was one that everyone in the gallery had wondered about: the goddesses.
[Summary of Goddesses in the SEH Worldview]
-Author: History Buff
Long time no see, everyone.
I told you before why I haven’t been posting summaries like this, right? Yeah, I have a pretty high position at the academy. So, I got caught up in real life and it got delayed. Well, I don’t think many people are curious about my news, so let’s get straight to the point.
The topic, as the title suggests, is about the goddesses. What kind of image comes to mind when you think of a goddess? Divine, omnipotent, a benevolent and beautiful being with overwhelming beauty, right? Well, I’ve heard from the newbies that these days, there are also settings where they’re the opposite, or where they look good but have terrible personalities in novels and comics. Don’t worry, though. At least the goddesses we all know aren’t like that!
Rine.
The mascot of SEH, as we all know. Rine, who appears from the prologue and is impossible to miss, is the first goddess I’ll introduce.
Goddess Rine is said to have created the Criado Continent, and in SEH, she first appears as the one who summons players from Earth.
There were some speculative posts wondering if Rine was the one who dragged us into this world, especially since she summoned the players, but honestly, I don’t know for sure, so let’s skip that.
Anyway! Rine is the goddess who governs the concepts of light and order. She’s a typical example of a being who clearly represents good. She has the highest recognition among the goddesses I’ll introduce, and there’s so little information about the other goddesses that most people consider her the only god.
As for her personality, it’s just like the phrases they chant every day in church: “Oh, our benevolent God,” blah blah blah~ Literally benevolent, holy, and so on. And she cares so much for the humans in her world that she even kidnaps people from another world (Earth), grants them powers (the system), and begs them to save her dangerous world.
Her power is certainly strong enough to create a continent, but perhaps due to some relationship with the other goddesses I’ll explain later, she doesn’t directly intervene much in the present world.
Still, she can’t just stand by and watch, so she secretly lends her power little by little. For example, divine power, the power used by the priests in the church. That power is actually Rine’s light power, weakened immensely so humans can handle it! This is why divine power has the properties of light and appears white.
Oh, and let me tell you something common to all goddesses. If you become an apostle of a goddess, you gain the power represented by the second word I use to describe them. So, Rine’s apostles become Apostles of Order. The first word represents a power they can wield even without being related to them, but the second one seems to be different.
Irine.
I think a lot of people won’t know about her from this point on. As I mentioned when talking about Rine, most of the people in this world, even the inhabitants, consider her the only god.
But those who don’t fall into that “most” category know about the existence of both Rine and Irine! For example, those with very high positions like the Emperor or the Pope, or some famous families, and those with high authority in historical research.
I don’t know how they know about Irine, but thanks to them, I was able to obtain various pieces of information. The most significant was the fact that she wields the powers of darkness and chaos.
Light and order, and darkness and chaos. They sound related to Rine, right? That’s correct. Irine is in opposition to Rine. Of course, she’s completely outmatched in terms of recognition! Lol.
Irine, unlike Rine, is said to have a great interest in the desires and emotions of living beings. Because of this characteristic, I cautiously speculate that she is the one who created the gallery. Honestly, there aren’t many places where humans are as honest as they are in the gallery. Because of this, she clashes and argues with Rine a lot, but surprisingly, they’re not on bad terms. Honestly, considering their powers, one might think Irine is a typical villain who creates monsters and torments humans, but she’s not, so don’t curse her out. Irine is a goddess who is benevolent towards humans, despite the power she wields.
Kishine.
Now, here’s the problem. There’s so little information about Goddess Kishine! There’s still some information remaining about Irine, but not Kishine! But who am I! History Buff! I managed to find Kishine’s records, heehee.
Everyone knows Carmo Village, right? I believe there’s no one who doesn’t. Even if there is, they’ll remember once they hear the village’s theme song. “Reincarnation,” one of the top 10 SEH soundtracks, is this village’s song. You’ve seen many covers of this song with piano and other instruments, right? A calm, dreamy, yet somehow eerie song.
In the game, it’s the theme song that plays when you enter the village, but in reality, the people in this village sing it. They say it’s a traditional song passed down through generations. They make sure their children learn this song; it’s a village tradition.
You’re all probably curious. Why is this song related to the goddess? How did I discover it? Well, let me remind you again. Who am I? History Buff, a time mage who can see into the past, even the ancient era. While looking into the past, I happened to see the connection between this village and the goddess. Of course, it wasn’t the actual goddess, but her incarnation, apostle, or avatar; I couldn’t tell for sure. Whenever I tried to look closer, something would block my vision. But thanks to that, I could be certain she was a goddess. An ordinary being couldn’t block my vision, could they?
Thanks to that, I learned that the song of Carmo Village incorporated anecdotes about Kishine into its lyrics, and from that, I could infer her abilities. She wields the powers of creation and destruction. A power clearly superior to Rine and Irine.
But according to the lyrics, she’s the youngest and lowest-ranked among the goddesses, and her mind is childlike, so sometimes, a cruelty masked by innocence emerges. I wondered why the song felt eerie the more you listened to it, and I think it might reflect Kishine’s personality.
Sahine.
Now, the last goddess. Name: Sahine. Eldest sister among the goddesses. Abilities: Time and space. Currently in hibernation, having lent her body to her younger sisters. The end.
…Yeah, that’s all. But I can’t help it. I couldn’t find any other information about Sahine, except for this!
How did I find this information? Don’t ask. It’s not something you should know yet. Heh. If you’ve seen the ending, send me a private message. I’ll tell you. Of course, I’ll have to verify your identity first.
Anyway! This concludes the information about the goddesses. I feel refreshed after posting like this after so long. I’ll be back with another topic you might be interested in. See you!
…And so, History Buff’s post ended.
It was a long post, the longest he had ever written, but everyone read it carefully from beginning to end. That’s how curious they were about the goddesses of their world.
-Wow, a real info post after so long.
-Congrats on your return.
-Wow, there are 4 goddesses?
└Seriously?
└That’s amazing. I honestly thought it was just Rine.
└Lol.
-Wait, Rine? Irine? Kishine? Sahine? Damn, the names are so similar.
└Just think of them as sisters~
└Kishine is the youngest, and Sahine is the eldest~
└Then Rine and Irine are the twin second daughters.
└Why?
└Because of light and darkness, order and chaos.
└Ah, I see.
-So, what do they look like, History Buff? Do they look like Rine?
└Since Sahine lent her body, isn’t Rine actually in Sahine’s body?
└Is that so?
└Damn, this is complicated.
└It’s delicious.
The gallery was in an uproar. It was a post by History Buff, related to goddesses, and the content was unusual. It quickly became the most popular post in the gallery, with comments constantly being added. However, the attention was soon diverted by another post.
[This Master. Returns.]
Ten minutes after History Buff’s post, a bigger, more powerful bomb was dropped. The return of the Gallery Master, El Grace.
