I became the upper moon in the Demon Slayer anime

Chapter 7: training

Chapter 7 – Harsh Training

My legs are hanging in the air...

My whole body is upside down, and all the blood is rushing to my head.

I push... I lift myself up again... and the iron groans under my weight.

"One... two... three..."

The sound of my breath cuts through the silence, heavy... loaded with burning.

Every push feels like my muscle fibers are exploding, like something inside me is deliberately tearing apart... and I smile.

I don't know what will happen in three days. I must prepare well.

Tearing... then rebuilding.

Every movement, every push, every tremble in my limbs... is nothing but my path to survival in this world.

If my body will heal after four days, I can't guarantee I'll still be alive by then.

Sweat drips from my forehead, runs into my eyes and burns them,

But I don't wipe it away.

Pain is now the only thing that can clear my mind.

"Push... push more..."

An inner voice screams, but not to stop... rather for more.

I move to ground pushups,

My palms planted firmly on the floor,

I begin to lower my body until my nose nearly touches the ground.

Then I lift myself again,

Sweat was covering my entire body.

Clack...

And I feel a light pop in my right shoulder muscle.

I realized I had suffered a minor tear in my right arm, but I didn't stop—I continued training.

The muscle now knows it's weak... and so, it will grow.

I go up... lower myself slowly...

Then I stop halfway and stay there,

My body trembling, screaming,

But I don't move.

This moment... this silence before collapse... is what I live for.

And due to the environment inside the house, training was extremely limited—just random exercises.

I looked to the ground and found a rope.

"Finally, I found you."

I grabbed the rope and hung it from the top of the hut.

"Let's begin again."

My hands slide, the rope tears into the skin,

But I keep going,

Climbing up,

Coming down.

Blood gathers in the tips of my fingers,

Scratches cover my body,

The pain pierces into my bones but I'm still going.

I lower myself again,

And lie on the ground,

Gasping, breathing like my chest will explode,

I watch the sweat gather in a small puddle beneath my head.

No one sees...

And no one will understand.

I'll show you what it means to be an Upper Demon.

If you want me to be Rank Three, I'll show you that I can become Number One.

I clenched my teeth and resumed training.

What I hate most is people putting their hopes on me—but here, there's nothing.

No people to bother me, just silence.

And suddenly, as I was training, I heard a loud noise from the next room.

I rushed out, searching for the source of the sound.

The noise grew louder and louder as I got closer to the room.

But the sound felt familiar.

Maybe it was one of the old folks, but I don't know why they would be yelling.

I grabbed the wall firmly before opening the door—but the scene inside the room was shocking.

End of Chapter

---

I hope the chapter was to your liking.

To be honest, I can hardly find time to write chapters anymore. There's university on one side, studying on another, exams on another, and the novel on another.

I only slept four hours last night, and I don't think I can keep doing that.

So I've decided I will publish three chapters a week, and of course, if the support for the novel is strong, I'll try to push myself harder and publish one or two extra chapters.

I'm not telling you this so you'll feel sorry for me or anything—I just want to inform you in case a chapter release is late.

This decision is also to help the novel last longer. I had thought about dropping the novel, but I decided to keep going with the releases.

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
