"Misaki...!" A flash of lightning suddenly struck my mind.

"Everyone! We're going to Misaki's place!"

Onizuka wiped away blood, while Ryoko and Reiko were still crying. The expressions on all three of their faces tightened instantly.

"Now that Yamashita's down..." Reiko's voice trembled.

"His control must be broken..."

"Hurry!" Ryoko shouted.

"I have... a bad feeling about this."

Leaving Onizuka at the amusement park, the three of us ran through the residential area in the dead of night. As we came into view of the Sakurai family's mansion, a light was on in Misaki's room on the second floor.

"Ah!" Reiko shrieked.

Misaki's shadow was at the window.

"Misaki!" My voice cut through the night.

The window opened. Misaki, in her school uniform, looked down blankly.

"Why... did this happen..." A whispered voice was heard.

"What... was done... to me..."

Released from the control, all her memories had resurfaced. Memories of being manipulated by Yamashita, of hurting those she cared about. The humiliation of having her will stolen. Everything was flooding in at once.

"Misaki! Stop!" Ryoko cried out.

"We're here too!"

"I... can't..."

At that moment, Misaki's body leaned forward.

"Misaki-aah-ah-ah!" Reiko's scream.

A split-second decision. I braced myself on the ground. My 120kg body became the most reliable landing spot in the world.

"Ryuuji-kun!" Ryoko's voice.

Misaki plummeted through the air. Her figure, illuminated by the moonlight, was like a winged angel.

"Absolutely...!" I spread my arms wide.

My precious lover's body was in my arms. I knelt from the impact but held her firmly.

Misaki's room, unlike its usual neatness, was filled with a heavy atmosphere. Scattered uniform clothes, disheveled bedsheets. Everything seemed to speak of her troubled mind.

"Misaki," I quietly called out. The moonlight streaming through the window illuminated her fragile profile.

Ryoko and Reiko were waiting downstairs to explain the situation to her parents. Only Misaki and I were in this room.

"Your phone... let me see it." I gently reached out my hand.

"No!" Misaki clutched the device desperately.

"Don't look... please..." Her voice trembled. Tears fell again from her downcast face.

"I don't want anyone to know..."

"No one... those memories..."

Her white fingers gripped the smartphone. Her knuckles were white from the pressure.

"Misaki," I slowly knelt before her.

"I'll accept it."

"Eh...?"

"Any memory."

"Any past."

"I'll accept all of it."

In the moonlight, Misaki's eyes wavered.

"Because if I don't,"

"Misaki won't be saved."

"Ryuuji... kun." I hadn't heard her call me that in a long time.

"Trust me." I gently reached out my hand.

"Share your pain with me."

The moment I touched her phone, everything became clear. An unimaginable scene flooded into my mind.
