Before the killing blow could land, a glowing arrow streaked through the air, colliding with the mercenary assassin's dagger and sending it flying.

"What the—" the assassin muttered, only to be hit by another glowing arrow that buried itself in his shoulder.

He hissed in pain while leaping back to avoid the rest of the volley of arrows streaking across the air.

"Looks like you needed some help," Lilo voiced while stepping into view with her bow drawn. Boris appeared behind her with his massive axe resting on his shoulder.

The assassin chuckled darkly while his eyes darted between the newcomers. "More of you, huh? This just got interesting."

Boris charged forward without hesitation, swinging his axe with immense force. "Try dodging this!"

But the assassin turned into a wisp of black smoke, evading the attack effortlessly. He reappeared a few feet away, smirking. "You'll have to do better than that."

"You'll have to take on all of us together," Lilo fired another volley of arrows as Boris followed up with a wide swing.

The rogue blocked and dodged with smooth movements.

Realizing he was outnumbered, he turned and fled deeper into the cavern.

"Coward!" Boris roared while giving chase.

"Wait for me!" Gregarious shouted before downing a health potion as he stumbled after them.

Ezran sighed, casting a quick healing spell on himself. "This is going to be a long night."

Back in another part of the caverns, August was locked in a deadly dance with the Void Spider. The creature's dark webs made the air sticky and heavy, and its movements were unpredictable.

"Just die already," August muttered before hurling a Thunder Spear directly at its head.

The spider screeched while thrashing it's legs as it lunged at him, fangs bared. August dodged to the side, activating Phantom Blitz to appear behind the creature.

He drove his daggers into the beast's back causing it to shriek in pain once more.

As he battled the beast, the nagging feeling that the others were in trouble grew stronger. He gritted his teeth while dodging another swipe of the spider's legs.

"I need to end this now," he muttered while preparing his next attack.

Elsewhere, the rest of the group pursued the rogue assassin.

Their chase led them into a new tunnel way where gravity suddenly shifted. Without warning, Lilo and Gregarious were pulled upward, floating toward the ceiling as Boris clung to the ground.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING?!" Gregarious screamed while flailing as he drifted upward.

"Welcome to the Abandoned Caverns," the rogue's voice echoed as his laughter chilled them to the bone.

The spider reared up and it's glowing red eyes narrowed as it prepared to lunge again. August's eyes darted to the glowing webs encasing the area. He needed to end this quickly.

"Alright, you ugly bastard. Let's finish this," he growled.

Raising his hand, he began to channel mana into a spell that shimmered with destructive power.

The air around him crackled as arcs of electricity gathered, coalescing into the form of a massive spear crackling with raw energy.

The cavern lit up as August hurled the electrified weapon directly at the spider's head.

Before Gregarious could retort, a loud clang echoed from deeper in the tunnel. The three of them froze while exchanging glances.

"That's Boris," Ezran used his staff to get up. "He's fighting the assassin alone."

"Of course he is," Gregarious grumbled while unsheathing his sword. "Well, let's not keep him waiting."

Gregarious charged in next, swinging his glowing sword with reckless abandon. "FOR HONOR! FOR GLORY! FOR MY NEXT MEAL!"

The assassin dodged the first swing, but Gregarious managed to clip him with the second due to getting hit in the thigh by an arrow from Lilo.

"Yeah let's just follow his steps," Boris yelled knowing that they wouldn't get caught up in one if they closely executed the same movements with the mercenary assassin.

The group followed the rogue through a twisting tunnel that eventually opened into a vast chamber.

The ceiling stretched high above them, jagged and uneven, with glowing crystals embedded in the walls.

As they entered, the sound of boots hitting the ground surrounded them. One by one, figures dropped from the ceiling and stepped out from the shadows.
