I can rewind time to prevent death

Chapter 497: I am the Void Demon! (Grand Finale)_2

Only Sylvanus could be heard speaking in his distinct, resonant intonation, slowly uttering, "Any space inhabited by a Void Demon shall be irreversibly sealed. Every attempt by the Void Demon to escape will unknowingly tighten an even harsher, sturdier, invisible, and irresistible shackle around itself. Sylvanus."

The Void Demon froze, raising its hands to examine them, only to witness the flesh and muscles dissolving inch by inch along its arms.

When it reached up to touch its face, its entire visage also began dissolving in that very moment, as though it were water streaming into the ground beneath its feet, seemingly destined to be ensnared in an infinite spatial seal.

"Ah——"

The Void Demon tilted its head back and howled, raising its melting arms, now reduced to mere bones. But abruptly, the howl transitioned into maniacal laughter.

"Hahahahaha..."

Sylvanus, who had finished reciting with a playful smile, froze for a brief moment, looking at the maniacally laughing Void Demon.

The Void Demon, now completely restored from head to toe, lowered its previously upturned head, gazing levelly at Sylvanus before speaking, "A pathetic imitation of Sylvanus, attempting to use lies and illusions to make me kill myself with my own conviction. The True Word Barrier—how could it possibly succeed without even invoking my name? Hahahaha..."

After a pause, the Void Demon raised its head, gazing at the ceiling as though seeing through the entire spacetime lockdown and simulated scene overlap.

"And I, the Void Demon—could my true name even be uttered by the likes of you?"

The illusion before them shattered like glass, fragment by fragment, falling apart.

In the next instant, the Void Demon found itself standing outside FH Community once again, in the midst of a battlefield consumed by frenzied slaughter wrought by the strangenesses.

It ascended slowly, like a Heavenly Demon descending. Its gaze fell on Yan Junze, who was furiously crushing two Corpse Spirits using his Control Field.

Yan Junze's heart suddenly lurched in panic. Sensing peril, he looked up—only to discover that the Void Demon had once again freed itself!

Without hesitation, Yan Junze expended enormous amounts of energy, rapidly hurling several [Space-Time Lockdowns] and [Space-Time Scene Overlap, Third Form].

Yet, the air surrounding the Void Demon seemed to solidify, encapsulating it entirely. Nothing could penetrate this Void, unless permitted by the Void Demon itself.

Fixing its gaze on Yan Junze, the Void Demon extended a hand toward him.

A similar invisible, solidified space formed around Yan Junze, crushing him in its grasp as his body was lifted into the air, uncontrollably drawn toward the Void Demon.

"Is... is this convergence happening?!"

Yan Junze gasped in alarm, instinctively attempting to activate Rewind.

"Rewind!"

As the thought burst forth, nothing happened!

Though he had predicted this possibility beforehand, the verified reality of being unable to Rewind left him stunned and incredulous.

In truth, upon closer analysis, the Void linked to the Void Demon was the anchor point whenever invoking the Spacetime Atlas for a Great Rewind. The connection between the two made it impossible for his Rewind to remain unaffected.

Shortly after the Void Demon emerged, all the Corpse Spirits ceased attacking and lay rigidly as though lifeless—motionless as corpses—with the entire street plunged into a deathly silence that starkly contrasted the earlier chaos of war cries.

As his proximity to the Void Demon grew ever closer, Yan Junze was overwhelmed by an undeniable sense of futility. The power gap between them was like an insurmountable chasm, vast as an abyss.

While encountering resistance to Rewinds wasn't a new experience for Yan Junze, his current state of panic did not deter him from mentally examining the Spacetime Atlas.

Originally, he had estimated the energy required to complete the entire network of nodes and timelines at roughly 150,000. However, his current energy limit displayed 159,600, only 400 points shy of reaching the maximum threshold of 160,000.

The final node of the Atlas remained dim, signaling it had yet to be activated. The gap between the last activated node and the gray node equated to the missing 400 points of energy.

It now seemed apparent: 160,000 represented the Atlas's upper limit!

The next moment, Yan Junze's body was involuntarily pulled to hover before the Void Demon. The solidified space surrounding him dissolved, leaving them less than an arm's length apart.

But Yan Junze's gaze lingered downward.

He was searching—for possibilities. A way to gather the final 400 energy points to complete the Spacetime Atlas.

Since the Void Demon had reappeared, the Corpse Spirits lay stiff and motionless as though long dead—making it impossible to harvest energy from them by killing them.

Meanwhile, the strangenesses under his control had become frozen in terror, paralyzed by the oppressive presence of the Void Demon, whose unrestrained power blanketed the entire area like a suffocating force.

Aunt Mei, guarding FH Community's magnetic field, had reached the brink of despair in her resistance, hanging on by the thinnest thread.

Yan Junze's gaze skimmed across Zhuang Wenxian, Zhuang Wenjing, and Zhuang Wenhui, then to the Back-faced Woman and Ke'er. He paused momentarily on Ke'er before moving on to Xiang Er, Ku Zai, and Yao Long, then past Long-tongued Zhenzhen and the Crawler Monster.

A strange sensation flickered within him as his eyes landed on the trembling, immobile form of the Crawler Monster lying on the ground.

By now, the Void Demon had extended its right hand toward Yan Junze, its fingertips inching toward his forehead.
