I created my own system

chapter 346: Frozen Lullaby

Apollo's pov

This winter I really thought I could get a breath. When I ended Dominos I thought could get some rest but then the news of the blue snow arriving was truly unexpected to me.

"The blue snow last winter arrive around at the second month of this year, then now the blue moon will arrive before it even ends"

The hand f the clock keeps on ticking for some reason I felt really irritated.

Everything is going into full blown war.

"Jeremiah can you calculated which of the forests will be attack the most"

Since the Tower is being surrounded by four different forest

The Afra, Chadra, Abbe and Hallie which home to basic to Duke rank magical beast. Supposedly it was only duke ranks but every blood season some hibernating beast will woke up to turn the area upside down.

Giving up on the mines are not an option either since if we let them alone, they will depleted the entire mine.

*Sigh*

I looked at my side Alicia was sleeping, same with the others. The fire continue to crackle while my senses continue to count the seconds.

[Time until the Blue snow arries: 3:45:34]

I finally stood up from my seat and decided to have a walk.

I really thought I could sort my thoughts here but it seems I wont be able to do that.

Then my eyes glided to my inventory, there I saw the fragment.

"Should I visit that man, but how can I go there, where exactly do I need to deliver this fragments"

That person whose face is hidden by a hood but then my thoughts halted as I felt the wind blows so intensely.

"Jeremiah show me what is currently happening at the meeting hall"

I looked at the screen and there I saw them.

The tower buzzed with anxious energy.

Magic circles were being carved into the floors. Enchantment teams worked nonstop to strengthen the elemental seals around the tower's outer barrier. Cauldrons bubbled with potion mixtures—antitoxins, emergency revivers, mana surge stimulants. Even the youngest apprentices had been assigned roles, weaving support scrolls or gathering materials from the garden.

From the highest spire, one could see the sky dimming, not with clouds, but with a strange swirling fog. The magic of winter had begun to shift.

In the Black tower, the mages had gathered. Massive tomes lay open, pages flipping on their own as spells identified creatures recorded in the Tower's bestiaries—looking for patterns. Frosthorn Leviathans, Snow-Touched Banshees, Arctic Howlers—beasts of myth, and beasts of memory.

"Check the recorded history there should be records of beast that went ot hibernate. We might not know when they may come," a a mage from the Black tower muttered. "If the Wyrm signs match last winter's blood season, we'll need the barrier reinforced again."

"I brought the maps from the mine in the four forest and the ones in the other territories, the mages there are asking for more backups" this time it was a mage from the Red sun tower, on his arms are materials about weaknesses of possible beast. He soon joined the others they tried to create more strategies and eventually pass it to the mages station at the mines.

Later that evening, I stood atop the highest part of the Black Tower, wearing a coat that went against the wind, my focus lies at the sky above.

"Just a few more seconds" I said as my eyes went towards the timer at my side.

[Time until Blue Snowfall: 00:01:03]

Time began to move fast....

And then…

It began.

I felt a sudden change in the atmosphere

It became colder

The white snowflake drifted from the clouds. I almost missed it. But the second one glowed faintly blue—and then the third, the fourth, and suddenly…

It fell like a storm.

The wind suddenly increase it was really cold but I stood still continuing to feel its wraith.

Then beneath the snow, I felt the magic that is awakening deep within the forest.

"Hooo....one...two...three...four...." I began counting while every flake humming with energy. The ground it touched shivered, not just in temperature, but in resonance. The trees groaned. Stone cracked. Creatures in the forest screamed in unison.

The Blood Season had begun.

Like a fire that is being lit, the Tower erupted into action.

I could hear multiple steps that is running from up and down of the tower.

Sir Arthur handed me the sealed cylinder—enhancement cores for the mechanical sentries. "You're heading to the mines in Afra, your friends are currently preparing, here is the magic circle you may activate"

"Okay but I will head to the Blue moon tower first, I was able to finish the modification"

"Okay meet your friend at the teleporter"

I nodded, then my body immediately teleported right in front of the mage I was looking for, "Sir Gavin, Arthur gave me this. I already modified it. Here's the plan for syncing the magic circle enhancements with your mechanical soldiers."

Sir Gavin took it but when I look at him I was shock with how his eyes have dark circles around it

"Sir..."

"So, you're being deployed to Afra," Gavin said, studying the blueprints. "Good luck. It's the hardest sector."

I gave him a nod, still stunned, when I saw him leave I decided to do the same, after all the chaos is about to come.

At the teleportation pad I saw my friends all of them are prepared asking me smile a bit.

"You are late again"

They joke, I just smiled and stood beside them.

"You guys ready"

Sir Dei said as he put the coordinates at the teleportation pad.

"Be careful little sun" he said to be as he push the button and eventually took us to our destination.

The moment we landed… I knew this wasn't just a mine. It was a fortress.

We left the teleportation pad and immediately went outside to asses the situation outside.

Iron walls lined the perimeter, reinforced with living stone that resonated with enchantments. Turrets, magic ballistas and cannons, actually aimed in every direction. Crystalline spotlights lit up the night like stars, searching for movement in the trees. Lenses was also spread providing vision at the darkest place of the forest.

"You guys are here"

It was Sonya it seems her squad are ready.

The Red Tower mages moved to greet us en without much word they took some of my friends since their position and assigmeare already been set.

"Apollo, Alicia you two are with me" Sonya told us and all we did is nod our head and took the weapons we had prepared.

Right now the mages of the tower no longer wore robes, instead each wore mana-threaded armor tuned to the blood season's threats, it was a better version of nano armor. The ground beneath our feet glowed faintly with embedded magic circle designed to slow charging beasts.

Then another mage arrives and immediately raised his hand in greeting.

"You're Apollo right? Thank the stars. It seems syou grow up really well"

"Its been three years sir Dante"

"Don't be so formal just call be uncle like you usually"

He then gave him and Alicia a drink.

"Drink up, we just saw an entire horde coming here, you should began your preparation"

Alicia and just nodded while Sonya just left with Jonaf.

With only us two remaining at the watch tower, warm cocoa in our hands, Alicia then began to break the ice

"This place looks like it's preparing for a siege," she muttered.

"It is," I said. "And we're the frontline."

I raised my glass and she did as well. Under the increasing fall of snow the two of us click our mugs and heard the chaotic roar of the enemies.

"They sure are coming so loud"

I cant help but laugh at her words but then it was really loud.

"Let them be soon that noise will be replaced by something else"

I smirked until the fall of snow began to change.

The fall of snowflakes became a silent rhythm, a song that unknowingly dwells on everyone's ears. It was cold yet it felt haunting, under the sound of falling snow a little girl can be seen holding a flute. She continues to play the instrument despite the fallen drops of ice. However as she played so well her music began to seep through the rhythm of the storm. The rustle of snow the drops of cold water turning frozen. Every noise suddenly becoming together.

And as the tunes combine together a bone chilling song begins to be heard, a deadly melody, a chant that soon drowns the listener's ears.

I can't help but smirk as I listen to the deadly hymn.

Here it is the lullaby that will surely put those beast to sleep, permanently.

I can see it the marching beast suddenly slow down, hearing the music must have dull thier senses. Then from one of the cannons I saw Aaron at the control room.

"I see it seems they are starting to fire now"

Soon a different kind of noise echoes across the forest of Afra.
