I created my own system

chapter 349: The impact

Their pov

Jillian's hands trembled slightly brought a crate of magic bolts that will be use for the largest ballista. Sweat dripped down her brow despite the freezing storm, but her gaze never left the swarming horde ahead.

"They just keep coming…" she muttered. Then she use her wind magic to bring more crates with her. They cant use magic to create the bolt since the ballitas and cannons use an enormous amount of mana. That is why they resolve in loading them with bolts and shells that act the same like loading gun. Problem is the amount being use exceeds the amount that was used in the previous seasons blood season.

"Matilda, angle that cannon thirty degrees right!" Alya called out, while transmitting another round of targets at their maps.

"Okay, Apollo see those dots erased them okay?"

{Got it}

{Okay be care-fu...}

Before she could finish, a shiver ran through the entire battlefield.

A voice was then heard

"Thunder aura, Ten thousand Lightning tribulations"

It was spell, a chant

Everything…paused.

Even the beasts slowed—growling, snarling, but halting in place, as if sensing something far greater was about to descend. Thier sense are picking danger far greater than anything else but they could not move.

Then…

A sound split the heavens.

Not thunder.

Not wind.

But something… that even the heavy storm could not stop

---

Blair's breath caught in his throat. By instinct he stood in front of his friends protecting from the shockwaves, on the other hand his friends behing his clutched the edge of Vesta's flute platform, wide-eyed.

"Do you… feel that?"

Vesta stopped playing mid-note.

"I do. It's him."

Keith looked aghast not expecting such power, because of that the gravity fields he was busy layering crumble due to his losing focus.

Feeling the pressure he could only clutch his chest that cant stop beating fast.

"Seriously, that guy" he mutters finally collecting himself.

Agnes clutched her cloak, sensing time itself falter. Like the world was holding its breath before something irreversible.

"You know he could have at least warn us"

"Forget about that hold on to me or you will get blown away" Samael told them as he stood right beside Blair.

Keith then took action using enertia to put them in one place.

"Sorry Blair this is all I can do"

"No worries I don't mind being a shield"

---

On the other hand, in one of the watchtower, Sonya's staff pulsed.

The magic circle surrounding the mage suddenly flicker making them worry, it began to destabilized by the rising mana in the atmosphere.

"Everyone, this might be an energy put on the shield at its maximum—NOW!" she barked to her mages.

"What is happening?" one of them asked, wondering a familiar mana.

But no one could answer.

Because the sky had turned white.

Then the ground tremble by its wrath

---

Then it happened.

From the cold and bitter catastrophe, a spear of lightning broke through the storm clouds—followed by another.

And another.

And ten thousand more.

---

"Ten Thousand Tribulations," came Apollo's distant, calm voice.

Barely audible—but somehow, heard in every mage's core.

The sky tore open.

Lines of light bled downward like divine veins—not strikes, but pillars. Each bolt twisted, curved, and then detonated on contact.

The ground boiled.

The snow vanished instantly.

Beasts screamed—then were silenced.

The very air wavered, distorted, as gravity and thunder collided.

---

In the control room Alya was frozen. "W-What… what is this?" she stammered, covering her ears from the deafening crackle.

Aaron stood behind her, shielding her with a spatial field. "That magic again," he whispered. "What kind of enemy is he facing to use that"

---

Casper and McKenzie fell to their knees behind the cannon rigs, stunned. As they knock by the impact.

"Did he just vaporize an entire area?" McKenzie breathed.

"what the hell is happening at the frontlines…" Matilda added. "What kind of beast made him cast that."

---

Back in the spell tower, a Red Sun mage gasped.

"Our barrier's bending from our side—the impact is pressuring it."

Another mage activated a resonance crystal to scan the sky. "The conquering spell is suddenly acting up its healing the shield and strengting it. It means that spell is from our side."

"Seriously for all the things he could get from Astro not that devilish spell" another mage said as he fix another part of the barrier.

Sonya covered her eyes, light reflecting off her armor.

"Apollo… just what did they Astro teach you to cast a spell like that?"

---

The lightning storm slowed.

Smoke rolled across the field.

Ash floated like snow.

Where once stood hundreds of beasts, now remained only smoking skeletons and glowing craters.

But in the distance… a few still stood.

Creatures with resistance to lightning.

Their eyes burning with crimson hunger.

---

Blair swallowed. "He didn't get them all…"

"Because those ones… have immunity against the element Apollo used" Vesta finished.

"The hell that is cheating."

"Don't worry Blair if its cheating, Apollo can beat it"

Keith just said but his body is sweating hard due to the continuous flow of impact,.

---

Back at the center watchtower, Alicia stood where she was she didn't even flinch. She just stood there watching the creator of such diaster.

Apollo's spear returned to him in a pulse of light.

His form crackled—hair slightly lifted, boots sizzling in the frost.

"That wasn't enough....it seems they have useful skills"

In the background, his classmates stared, half in awe, half in dread.

Matilda muttered, "We really have a monster in our friend group…"

Braiden shook his head. "I think the word crazy fits him more"

---

The battlefield was silent—but not peaceful.

The snow had stopped falling.

And in the stillness… a roar began to echo from the deeper forest.

The third wave was coming.

And every friend, mage, and tower guardian knew—this was only Round Two.

Jeremiah had cast the other elements while Apollo merely use his lightning spell to struck multiple beast that weak against the element.

"They are endless!"

The boy said in exasperation as he another wave replacing the ones he just killed.

"This is the first three hours of the blood season and their amount are still increasing"

[Creator some celestial rank beast are still alive]

"I can see that"

A whistling sound can be heard followed by a spear that continue to penetrate bodies.

The snow was still heavy but the moment it landed at the vicinity of the battle it evaporated immediately. Causing a line of fog to form

The chaos is becoming eve more intense with the sound of explosion accompanying the roars of dying beast.

The clock struck 4 in the morning the horde of beast hasn't stop is march to approach the mines.

"This is really troubling"

Apollo still in his thunder aura form exasperatedly said seeing the four celestial beast still alive and kicking despite all his attacks.

[Its because you are more focus on attacking a huge amount of enemies rather than attacking them individually. That why you could not land the final killing hit]

"I know....Hooo...damn they are still"

[I just scan Creator, the other mines are also experiencing this kind if the intensity of attacks]

"Are they fending off fine?"

[Yes hey are doing well, it seems the blue moon's golem and soldiers are making the battle less stressing for the mages there]

"I see" Apollo then flick his finger and his body immediately teleported back to the fortress replacing him was the soldiers that previously dominate the battlefield.

"They should be able to handle those celestial"

[What do you plan to do]

"I'll reserve some of my strength for now lets do another thing"

Spells were still being thrown and those ducal to emperor level beast swarm into the first layer of walls. Thousands of moving enemies looking like an endless sea of death but Apollo wont just stand doing nothing.

He went to the top of the watchtower and took out his rifle.

{Apollo we are moving in rotation, you can rest now, Alicia will replace}

"I'm good Sonya believe me I can last for a few more hours"

{Don't be stubborn little you know what happened to your big brother, listen and just rest}

Apollo suddenly smiled bitterly remembering Astro but more than that he knows she was right.

"I wont cast any spell so don't worry, I will just shoot some bullets"

{*Sigh*...just rest okay your friends are already resting}

"I know....you go on I can still last for acoupe of hours"

[Creator]

"I know.... without my friends a big part of the conquering spell had collapse so focus on that"

Apollo summoned a rifle from his inventory, as he look through the scope every noise surrounding him disappear and instead his focus only exist at a single being. The surviving celestial rank beast.

"Lets see...lets take shot first"

A bullet generate from my hand using one of my skills one that can hold an authority.
