I Created Scientific Magic

Chapter 588 Only peace under mutual deterrence is true peace!_2

If these alien gods were each fighting for themselves, they would still be able to defeat each one individually, just as before, and even rely on capturing gods to manufacture faster-than-light spaceships, converting the opponent's combat power into their own. By continuously accumulating in this manner, they could undertake the final battle with the main world.

However, this idea was about to be shattered before it even began.

Once the gods of the main world united, achieving victory would become particularly difficult.

"What about those alien spacecraft? How far are they from us?" Vittorio suddenly asked, voicing a question that the other Wizards also wanted answered.

"If they don't accelerate or decelerate midway, they should reach our galaxy in about three years," Lynn said, extending a hand to lightly tap in the air, causing specks of luminescent light to appear in the center of the conference room.

This was a simple star map, stitched together based on the position of each observed star, although it might not be very accurate, but it was enough for a rough positioning.

Harrov instantly noticed the twinkling red dot in the void—the location of those alien spacecraft, which had almost completed four-fifths of their journey.

Of course, a large portion of the distance had been covered by directly warping, without a clear travel path.

And those distant stars marked with a faint red ring were the coordinates linked with Lynn's captured quantum communicator, highly likely to be the territory of this alien civilization.

"Only three years left?" Anthony sighed, his concept of time becoming somewhat chaotic after frequent travels between the Eternal Star and foreign realms.

But upon reflection, they had indeed spent quite a bit of time researching and manufacturing light-speed spacecraft and preparing for the war with the foreign realms.

Harrov and the others frowned, three years might sound long, but with the foreign realm's time flowing seven times faster, it was merely five months, and they were essentially facing two wars simultaneously.

The question of whether to deal with the troubles of the foreign realm first and fight those gods of the main world, or to prepare for the impending interstellar war was undoubtedly a matter that needed careful consideration.

The Wizards present quickly divided into two factions, with many believing that since the gods of the main world had now set their sights on the foreign realm, they should first eliminate this trouble, conveniently using them as a new source of energy for their ships.

"Eliminate? How do you propose we do that?" a high-ranking Wizard scoffed.

Currently, they only had the combat power of Lynn, the star of magic, and the flagship powered by Divine Power could barely be considered as another, equating in total to the power of only two gods.

Yet, they had at least four gods as their enemies!

It was known that in the war of gods, even the Legendary Councilmen could not find an opportunity to intervene, and the antimatter cannons aboard other warships, though capable of threatening gods, could only provide some firepower support.

Rafael had a different idea; after pondering for a moment, he spoke. "Even if there are many gods from the main world, as long as they don't have a fixed coordinate, they can't easily invade the foreign realm. Perhaps we can find a way to let them come in one by one and handle them."

This suggestion undoubtedly showed a viable path to those council members who were originally clueless. A single god they did not fear; further, an arrival meant leaving their original divine realm, which would significantly reduce their strength.

"I'm afraid it's not that easy!" Lynn shook his head, feeling that the suggestion was not reliable, for the invading gods of the foreign realm were not fighting independently but seemed somewhat coordinated.

Regarding the reduction in strength upon leaving their divine realm, they understood this; the gods from the main world should be even more aware of it.

Especially since they had also killed the Lord of Death, a god with moderate Divine Power. With the example of the Lord of Death, the opponents would definitely be more cautious.

Vittorio also nodded; he likewise disagreed with starting a direct war with the main world, since winning such an inter-realm divine battle in a short amount of time was nearly impossible, and could easily evolve into fighting enemies on two fronts.

"Are you confident in holding off the invasion of these gods, Councilman Lynn?" Harrov asked solemnly.

He also agreed that they should first withstand the gods' invasion from the main world, keeping them at bay while dealing with the approaching alien fleets.

After setting aside his fear of sub-light speed spaceships, in Harrov's eyes, the threat from these fleets seemed less significant than that from the numerous gods of the main world.

"This time, the enemy merely tested our defenses, but the next might not be so easy, and even with preparations, it'll be very difficult to completely defend ourselves," Lynn shook his head, but upon seeing the troubled looks on the faces of the present wizards, he spoke again to reassure them. "However, for a god to descend in their true form to another world is not such an easy task!"

Initially, when the Lord of Death descended into this universe, it was at the cost of a nine-ring legendary lich, while their attack on the foreign realm utilized the remaining will and power of the Moon God, fomenting the divinity of Aila to open the spatial rift.

"It looks like the situation isn't too bad then," Sanchez couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, considering a foreign realm as their battlefield. They did not fear the arrival of one or two gods, as they could be killed and turned into energy for super-light speed spaceships.

And sending multiple powerful gods at once would require an astronomical amount of energy. As long as they were careful enough, the enemy should not succeed!

"Some of the alien fleets might also be here for friendly exchanges; they might not necessarily pose a threat…" a councilman said optimistically.

Lynn raised an eyebrow; while he could not rule out this possibility, the probability was very low, especially since a fleet had already been annihilated by the Moon Goddess Diana.

"In any case, we must be prepared for both scenarios, and not pin all our hopes on the enemy's goodwill," Lynn said noncommittally.

Peace established under mutual deterrence is the only true safety.

In fact, over the past few years, the council's alchemists had not been idle, having made another five galaxy-class ships capable of half-light speed, equipped with curvature engines; they only lacked a power source to break the speed of light.

With two more interstellar ships under construction, and adding the previous ships built and modified, they could potentially have ten ships ready for battle.

This was undoubtedly another piece of good news, showing that they were not entirely unprepared for this war!

After a round of debate over who to strike first, the council quickly shifted its focus to how to accelerate the gathering of resources in the foreign realm. Since this dimension was destined to collapse, it held little value in lingering on; if the situation turned sour, retreating would be an excellent strategy.

As for how the gods of the main world viewed the foreign realm, Lynn did not know, though it likely had something to do with the Moon God coming from the main world.

But they definitely did not have the coordinates of the Eternal Star, and even if the foreign realm fell, the enemy might not be able to find this place.

The cosmos here was also much more stable than the other side, the energy required for gods to descend would also be greater, and they could sever the connection between the two sides by closing the Space-Time Gate.

By this calculation, they effectively possessed dual-space shields with both the foreign realm and the cosmos.

Listening to the debates and discussions of his fellow council members, Lynn was pondering another issue. With the council's current power, they were not strong enough to confront the main world and the Disc (geometric) civilization head-on, let alone face both threats simultaneously!

Unlike Harrov, Lynn would not underestimate the power of a true interstellar force; the timings of their invasions were also very close, so perhaps they could use the intelligence discrepancy to pit one against the other...
