Chapter 100: What’s It Like to Smash Thor into a Wall?
With the "Anti-Thor Bat Shield" in hand, Su Ye raised his head and gave a slight nod toward Thor hovering in the sky.
"Come on, prove yourself!"
For a moment, Thor seemed at a loss.
As the ancient saying goes: strike while the iron is hot, hesitate and your momentum wanes.
When Thor first regained his God of Thunder status, the wind and lightning surrounding him built his momentum to its peak. At that moment, he felt invincible—ready even to challenge Zeus.
Yes, Zeus exists in this world, and surprisingly, he was Thor's childhood idol. Imagine Odin's son idolizing the god next door—Zeus, the king of gods who also wielded thunder.
Perhaps it was because Zeus had more lovers?
Zeus made his debut in Thor: Love and Thunder, portrayed as an old, portly man in a gold vest and a short white skirt.
His grandeur far surpassed Odin's, residing in a massive omnipotent city filled with various deities, from bizarre cosmic beings to a golden Eastern dragon coiled around a giant red pillar, and even a dumpling god sitting in a spoon with an adorable expression.
Zeus traveled with at least four female consorts, accompanied by male companions and elderly musicians to set the mood—not including his guards.
Yet, when these attendants saw a naked Thor—stripped of all his weapons and clothing by Zeus—they all fainted, regardless of age or gender.
Why? No idea. Don't ask.
Later, Thor's admiration for Zeus crumbled. When the God Butcher emerged, Zeus's first reaction wasn't to fight back but to hide with all the gods like a turtle hiding in its shell.
Perhaps the older one gets, the more cautious they become?
Zeus, who cowered before the God Butcher, still lorded over mortals with arrogance.
What a load of crap—just a bunch of cowardly extraterrestrial bullies.
Let's set Zeus aside for now. Thor's momentum had been shattered when Su Ye exploited a verbal slip, undermining his resolve.
Then, just as the battle was about to start, Batman appeared, interrupting Thor's flow once more.
After being interrupted twice, Thor wasn't sure if he had already shouted his pre-battle slogan. Should he shout it again now? Would repeating it make him seem foolish? If he didn't shout at all, would it come off as too casual?
Whatever, just say something random.
Thor gripped his hammer tightly and was about to speak when Su Ye raised a finger and beckoned him provocatively.
"You, come here!"
Hearing this, Thor's temper flared. Who needs slogans when you can fight?
Hovering in mid-air, Thor raised his arm and hurled Mjolnir with all his might, the hammer flying toward Su Ye with the force of thunder and lightning.
Su Ye, holding his shield, had no intention of meeting Mjolnir head-on. He wasn't Captain America, and the shield's material couldn't withstand the full force of the God of Thunder.
Whoosh!
Su Ye sidestepped Mjolnir's strike and charged toward Thor, shield raised.
Thor missed his first strike and immediately recalled the hammer, which flew back toward Su Ye like a boomerang, aiming for his back.
But thanks to his spider-sense, Su Ye dodged again, narrowly avoiding Mjolnir as he continued his charge.
No way you're sneaking up on me!
Within moments, Su Ye was face-to-face with Thor, close enough to see the lines on his face.
Thor, startled by Su Ye's agility, raised Mjolnir to summon lightning, but Su Ye was faster.
Su Ye suddenly vanished and reappeared in front of Thor.
Shadow Strike!
Without warning, Su Ye delivered a powerful blow, his elbow driving into Thor's chest like a battering ram.
Caught off guard, Thor took the full force of Su Ye's Shadow Strike. His body stiffened, and the connection between Mjolnir and the storm clouds above was momentarily severed.
Su Ye didn't waste the opportunity and immediately launched a relentless combo.
This was the same devastating series of attacks he had used on Abomination not long ago, only this time, the combo was even longer, fiercer, and more brutal.
Thor, caught in the barrage, was helplessly battered mid-air, unable to retaliate.
Finally, it seemed even Mjolnir had had enough. The hammer summoned a powerful thunderstrike, crashing down with a deafening roar, sending out a shockwave that forced Su Ye to retreat.
Su Ye anticipated the danger and flipped backward, narrowly avoiding the blast.
When the lightning subsided, Thor emerged unscathed, his bruises miraculously healed.
It was as if Thor's vitality was inexhaustible, akin to a Saint Seiya's indomitable cosmos. As long as he wielded Mjolnir, he seemed capable of endless recovery.
This time, Thor had learned from his mistakes. Instead of throwing Mjolnir again, he charged it with an enormous amount of lightning and aimed it directly at Su Ye.
Thick bolts of lightning surged from the hammer, racing toward Su Ye.
But Su Ye was ready. Before the lightning could reach him, he raised the Anti-Thor Bat Shield.
Boom!
The lightning clashed with the shield, producing a deafening hum. Shockwaves and heat rippled outward, forcing the nearby SHIELD agents to shield their eyes.
"That's the power of the God of Thunder? Pretty impressive!"
"Do you think the Martial Saint can hold up against that?"
"He'll be fine. We trust the Martial Saint—and Batman's gear!"
As the agents debated, the lightning storm began to subside after a continuous ten-second barrage.
When the dust settled, Su Ye was still standing, shield raised. The only noticeable difference was that the arc reactor in the shield's center was now glowing intensely.
"A shield that can withstand such a powerful lightning attack? Batman's gear is insane!"
"Yeah, but you need someone as skilled as the Martial Saint to use it properly. Did you see that combo earlier? Thor couldn't even move!"
"Stop arguing. Martial Saint and Batman—both are legends!"
The SHIELD agents' chatter died down as they marveled at the sight.
Su Ye peeked out from behind his shield, a sly grin on his face. "That's it? I thought you could keep that up all day. Turns out you're just a ten-second wonder."
He then glanced at the shield's blindingly bright reactor and frowned.
The reactor was overloaded, nearing its limit. If it had exploded mid-fight, the consequences would've been catastrophic.
Recalling how the Destroyer had been blasted apart, Su Ye felt a chill. He had narrowly avoided disaster.
With no time to waste, Su Ye activated the shield's rear mechanism, converting it into a laser cannon.
"Returning the favor."
Caught off guard, Thor was hit squarely in the chest by the energy beam and was blasted backward into a wall. The impact left a spiderweb of cracks.
Lowering the shield, Su Ye smirked. "Guess I just nailed Thor to a wall."
Thor slid down the wall but managed to land on his feet, barely fazed by the attack.
Thor was built to withstand such punishment. As an Asgardian with lightning coursing through his veins, his durability far surpassed that of Sif and the Warriors Three.
Despite this, Su Ye didn't intend to prolong the fight. His goal wasn't to defeat Thor in an endless battle but to send a message: Earthlings were not as weak as the Asgardians assumed.
Just as Thor prepared to resume his attack, Batman spoke from the rooftop.
"That's enough. You've both proven your points. There's no need to continue."
Thor twirled Mjolnir. "Why should I listen to you?"
Batman's tone remained calm. "Because that giant metal man who came with your rainbow bridge? I defeated him."
Thor's eyes narrowed. "The Destroyer… That was you? The guy who showed up in that car?"
