I Have Reasons to Hate Streamers

Chapter 19 - That Day (2)

After entering the game, I felt like my surroundings opened up.

A fresh breeze that couldn’t be tasted in the single room.

Maybe because what I saw was different, my mood improved a little.

But that doesn’t mean the menstrual pain disappeared somewhere.

The unpleasant sensation felt in the lower abdomen.

It felt like a heavy rock was pressing down, or like a hot water bottle was placed there.

On top of that, the uncomfortable feeling wouldn’t go away… my mood continued to stay low.

[Message left by NorthPorkPublic]

– Hello. This is SSA’s vice guild master…

– I’m sending you the purchase conditions for the Tear of the Demon Dragon.

– As you’ll see, it’s definitely not a bad offer.

– Please reply when you see the message.

– (A long list of items)

Come to think of it, I was trying to sell the item last time.

Originally, I was planning to tease them a bit and then sell it at a reasonable price.

I don’t know. If I meet them now, I might flip everything over.

…I barely managed to stop my hand from closing the message.

This won’t do. This is troublesome.

Ruining work by getting swept up in emotions is unprofessional.

After pondering a bit on what to do, I came to a conclusion.

At the Grand Temple of Discipline by 2 o’clock sharp

Thinking coolly, the conditions SSA offered weren’t that bad.

They probably presented the best they could offer from the guild.

It seemed they offered generous conditions rather than losing the opportunity by trying to save money clumsily.

Unique items aren’t something you can get just because you have a lot of money.

The Tear of the Demon Dragon requires tremendous effort in quests.

Such items are usually produced with the goal of self-sufficiency.

Trading opportunities themselves were bound to be rare.

What I would get are materials for the next high-end equipment and currency worth about 2 weeks of earnings.

This was enough to give me some breathing room.

I wouldn’t need to use my savings, and it might even be an opportunity to save up more.

[You have entered the Grand Temple of Discipline.]

[All types of PVP are prohibited within the Grand Temple.]

[If you act hostilely towards other adventurers, very severe penalties will be imposed.]

When I walked to the temple, several SSA guild members were there.

The first one visible is DongjakStationAgent.

Next to him, FlameOfCommunismDestruction was sticking close in a submissive mode.

The few people in front seem to be executives, but I think it’s my first time seeing them in person.

“You acted like you were going to play around a bit, but you accepted surprisingly quickly?”

“We both know everything. It didn’t seem like haggling would get us anywhere. You need something to suck on to suck it.”

“There’s also the option of selling to other guilds…”

“Would you really like that?”

Ah, it was meant as a joke.

Maybe because I’m in such a bad mood, my voice came out a bit low.

Actually, I don’t dislike these guys that much.

Guild SSA. The name comes from Social Service Agent. What’s commonly known as public service workers.

They say they gathered only the most hardcore shut-ins from other games.

In society, the image of being absorbed only in games isn’t very positive.

Now the market has grown a lot, so there are cases where people earn enough to boast to their families…

But in some quarters, the view towards gamers is still not favorable.

Especially losers like SSA who have nothing but games easily became prey.

Being cursed at and slandered for no reason was commonplace.

I hated that. To the point of irritation.

Having been obsessed with something is a beautiful experience, isn’t it?

Whatever is left at the end, there are things in this world where the process itself is enjoyable if it’s fun.

At least that’s what I believed.

So, as long as I don’t lose out.

It should be okay to show these losers a bit of convenience.

This is driving me crazy. Is it because my body is like this?

I feel like I’m being needlessly sentimental.

My thoughts aren’t particularly different from usual, but my mood keeps fluctuating.

“That’s… not it. Did something bad happen to you?”

“Nothing happened. Just set up the trade quickly. I’m busy.”

“Did you take on another job? You’re living so busily. What are you trying to save up for? With your skills, you could rather…”

“Stop there. If you want to share jokes and work next time too.”

“Alright, I’m sorry. I was being too nosy.”

[Trade request from adventurer One-eyed Village Chief. Y/N]

[Do you want to approve the trade? Y/N]

[The trade has been completed.]

The Tear of the Demon Dragon left my inventory, and instead, a massive amount of resources entered.

A quantity that looks reassuring just by looking at it. After putting it in storage, my mood improved a bit more.

SSA’s guild master, VoidLord, bowed his head to me.

“Thank you. We suffered such a big loss that I didn’t know how to make up for it… We’re greatly indebted to you.”

“Consider it a bribe to a freelancer. Share some good work with me in the future.”

“Yes. We will do that.”

Well, it’s not like I accepted the trade simply for SSA’s sake.

The Tear of the Demon Dragon is an item that can be lost upon death.

Holding onto it for long would only be dangerous with no benefits.

So I needed someone to buy my burden right away.

Even for me, it was burdensome to enjoy fights in the field carrying something like this.

When I actually thought about it, it snapped me back to my senses.

But now it’s really time.

Let’s resolve this uncomfortable feeling.

[Title: Hey, doesn’t Gawol seem quiet these days?]

Haven’t seen this one lately, what are they doing and where?

[Comments]

– Saw them raid Dongmicham’s broadcast not long ago
└ Are they even raiding small fry these days? Didn’t they usually target only somewhat famous ones?
└ Don’t know, that time Gawol was hit first

– I’m glad I don’t see them
└ For real, when watching broadcasts, it’s such a mood killer if it gets interrupted because of them
└ I disliked them too, but changed a bit after watching KimchiNinja’s video

[Title: Who’s the bastard who said Gawol was quiet]

I came out of the lab after three days

Turned on the game and died to Gawol in less than two hours

I need to sleep soon and go to work tomorrow

Why are they doing this to me?

I died to Gawol last time too

I just hate the world

[Comments]

– LoLoLoLoLoLoLoL

Send whispers to DongtanMissyChurchEducation in-game

[Comments]

– If you go.. can you win?

– Are you going with GgoJangJo? He’ll probably use a swordsman if there are many people
└ No, I’m going alone
└ ??? Then why are you going?

[Title: Gawol is popping up everywhere I go]

How many have died now?

SoolBbang, IlluWang, KimchiNinja went in that order and all died

Are there more who died?

[Comments]

– At this point, aren’t you a spy?
└ Huh?

– Just now Dongmicham died on Elderin’s broadcast

– Uh.. Elderin just died

I play this game because I like this moment.

[You have forcibly eliminated adventurer KimLeaf.]

[Warning: Field PK penalty…]

A feeling like blood boiling.

A sweet scent mixes with the breath I exhale, and I deflect the roughly incoming projectiles.

Every time I stretch out my accelerated legs, it felt like a faint electric current was flowing over my skin.

I killed the grappler who barged in out of nowhere, and also killed the spirit mage who was the most annoying.

The rest were mostly no different from flies.

They didn’t even have the basics down, as if they had never done PvP before.

So now only one streamer remains.

A few fire spells flew, but how could I let myself get hit by something so obvious?

A mage without close protection is just prey for an assassin.

As I was about to take the mage’s life like that – I briefly withdrew my dagger at a sudden sight.

My gaze turned to the chat window of the streamer ‘Elderin’.

– It’ll be tough if the spirit mage dies too

– Derin’s gonna die

– Why are they suddenly coming to kill streamers instead of pro gamers

– Ah…

– This is really annoying

「BrothOptimizationTalent donated 50,000 won」
「Elderin, you worked hard hunting today, let’s rest a bit and watch again later」

Seems like they’re receiving lots of love.

The viewers of SoolBbang or KimchiNinja were enjoying the atmosphere by now.

Hm, how should I deal with this jealousy? I’m envious.

Elderin is a female streamer who aims for skill-based broadcasts.

Skill-based broadcast is what she calls it herself. In reality, chatting with viewers and dressing up content are her main focus.

Ranked games or field PVP were just side dishes.

Of course, usually there was no reason to bother her.

But today, maybe the timing wasn’t good.

After killing a few familiar names, I really couldn’t find the next target.

Even pro gamers are broadcasting less due to the preseason.

I was thinking of quitting for today…

But the sticky unpleasant feeling just wouldn’t go away.

No. Far from going away, it was only getting stronger, and in the meantime, seeing someone being loved…

I just couldn’t stand it.

“Huu, ha…”

It seems my body really isn’t well.

My breathing was rough and irregular. I felt slightly dizzy too.

But seeing the defenseless mage sparked a needless sadistic desire.

Let’s change weapons.

They die too quickly with a dagger, so let’s use the chain scythe this time.

I broke through the layers of protective barriers and interrupted the casting.

A mage with interrupted spells is the most useless in this game.

Of course, it wasn’t difficult to take the back position.

As I wrapped the chain around the neck and pulled hard, a body similar in height to mine touched my chest.

I applied force with both hands, choking the mage’s windpipe.

“Mmph, ummph…?”

It’s really fascinating. It probably wouldn’t be that painful in reality.

When the throat is constricted, people panic and try to loosen it with their hands.

Of course, the real Elderin would have no problem breathing.

Yet, the sight of her feet flailing is quite funny.

The expression shown when looking to the side is interesting too.

Even now, the chat window was in chaos.

I… I wanted to have something like that too.

To talk about games with people, laugh and get angry at trivial jokes.

I want to receive all the attention and love like you.

What’s different about you that you receive so much love like this?

I don’t know. Suddenly my mind was bleached white, and I felt good.

“Huu… hu. Aha… hahaha.”

I wanted to enjoy this feeling alone.

I loosened the chain choking the neck, and grabbed her from behind as if hugging, then snapped the neck.

[You have forcibly eliminated adventurer Elderin.]

[Warning: Your infamy increases by 200,000 due to field PK penalty.]

[Warning: Your infamy is at maximum. You may be chased by guards when entering towns like big cities, and can be attacked by other adventurers.]

The sticky refreshing feeling didn’t go away for a long time.
