Chapter 180: Hardcore Persuasion to Stop a Fight
"Ceasefire! Ceasefire!" The commanders of the fighter squadrons from Morico and Ladingburg immediately ordered to stop the intense battle. With hundreds of fighter jets, a bunch of aircraft carriers, and destroyers involved, if they were here to clean them up, what was the point in fighting? They might as well just go home to their mothers!
"What on earth is going on?" At Morico's command base, Air Force Captain Slazer stared dazedly at the map covered in hundreds of dots, his hand gripping so hard he'd snapped the pen.
This area wasn't the private airspace of any country. Generally, the whole world was in a state of overall peace with local conflicts. Although wars were not common, they certainly weren't rare either.
Internationally, although verbal condemnations and efforts to stop such conflicts were common, as long as innocent countries weren't affected and no significant post-war consequences occurred, generally, such situations were overlooked.
The struggle between Morico and Ladingburg had been going on for almost a month, but since they were always on a small scale, no peacekeeping forces had ever come to maintain justice and order.
More than two hundred fighter jets is something a somewhat wealthy country could manage, but aircraft carriers, that's something else—Europe doesn't have ten of them! Almost all of them showing up like this—this definitely wasn't the act of any single nation!
Also, from the international response, it was definitely not an effort sent by any international organization—they still didn't have the clout to mobilize so many war machines.
Was the whole of Europe holding a joint military exercise here? But that didn't make sense. They had never received any notice about this, and even if they had, surely they wouldn't have such bad luck as to pick a military drill site right where they were fighting?
The more they analyzed it, the more mysterious the origins of this massive force appeared!
They had already requested support from within their country, but the reply informed them that this batch of military equipment had been mobilized just ten minutes ago! The person responsible for the mobilization was still unclear, but it wasn't likely targeted at them; otherwise, there would have been some signs or rumors.
Ladingburg was equally baffled at first—they even thought that Morico had traded some benefits for military support from other European countries. But on further reflection, their small, broke country couldn't afford such powerful support!

Almost simultaneously, Morico and Ladingburg received a message to stay calm and wait for the squadrons to pass before resuming their battle!
It wasn't that they wanted to stop fighting; both sides had already invested huge resources and manpower in this battle. To stop due to external forces would mean all those losses were in vain. Today, they had to decide a victor no matter what!
...
"You... Did you really call for this backup?" Wang Ling still couldn't recover from the shock. Zhang Menglong ruling in Huaxia or even in Asia was one thing, but how did he have so much influence even in Europe?
Europe only has 7 aircraft carriers, and Wang Ling had clearly heard over the broadcast that five were currently en route here. These five weren't affiliated with any nation or organization; if Zhang Menglong could mobilize them, what was he to Europe, an Emperor?
Deploying an aircraft carrier for combat was almost as costly as burning money; Wang Ling believed that if the remaining two carriers were also nearby, would they also desperately rush over?
But why, why would this happen?
"How about that, pretty cool, huh?" Zhang Menglong said, "With them clearing the way ahead, not to mention two squadrons fighting. Even if two Gundams were battling ahead, we could take them on!"
"How on earth did you do this?" Although Wang Ling hadn't seen the five aircraft carriers, the two hundred fighter jets had indeed passed right by them, and at least fifty were now circling nearby, maintaining a restricted state—clearly providing escort. All of this was right there to be seen.
So, those five aircraft carriers and several dozen destroyers, they absolutely exist!
Zhang Menglong had just made a phone call that lasted two minutes!
"It was just a call to a friend," Zhang Menglong said, "You just heard it, didn't you? Could I be sending mind telegrams or what?"
"This is outrageous! What kind of friend do you have? The United Nations doesn't have the clout that your friend has!" Wang Ling said. Even the United Nations couldn't make so many countries willingly pull out their bottom line, "You aren't making up imaginary friends, are you?"
"How else could I have done it?" Zhang Menglong laughed, "Besides, it's not like I'm not paying them. I will definitely provide a generous appearance fee; I can't expect people to come out for nothing, right?"
"This isn't about whether you have the money or not!" Wang Ling said with a distressed expression. You take tens of millions of US dollars to someone's house to borrow their aircraft carriers for a bit, would they even lend them to you? These are a country's deepest assets! It's not something that can just be swayed by money.
"You know, my friend, with one sneeze, the whole of Europe trembles," Zhang Menglong said. Although he didn't know exactly how powerful the Carreras family was, the fact that they could muster almost half of Europe's military power in just ten minutes was not an exaggeration to describe them!
The fleet slowly entered the recent battle zone. Although it had quieted down here now, the air was still dense with the smell of gunpowder. This is war.
"Mr. Zhang, someone is requesting to speak with you!" He Liang said.
"Put them through here!"
With a buzzing of static, a deep voice came through, "Mr. Zhang, this is the Carlos Carrier, I am commander Bargas!"
"Hello, Mr. Bargas!" Although this was Spanish, with Ye Yin as a human translator, Zhang Menglong could communicate effortlessly. As for Wang Ling and the others, they were completely bewildered. Not only was Zhang Menglong fluent in English and Qingqiu language, but he also handled Spanish impressively—could he be a language prodigy?
"Mr. Zhang, the fighter squadrons from Moriko and Ladingburg haven't fully withdrawn yet. They are currently hovering in the nearby airspace. Should we carry out further military strikes?" Bargas asked.
"They haven't left yet? That's bold!"
"Yes, for this battle, they invested a great deal of resources. They probably won't stop here, but they should be hesitant to make any rash moves. Once we safely pass through this airspace, however they fight after that doesn't concern us anymore."
"No, no, no!" Zhang Menglong said, "I am a person who loves peace, and the last thing I like to see is fighting. Once fighting begins, their soldiers will be sacrificed, and their families will be shattered. I think, as an outstanding youth of the 21st century, I still need to try and stop the fight."
"Tell them, if they continue to fight, then we'll have to step in to maintain peace. Whoever initiates, you bring them down!" Zhang Menglong asked tentatively, "Can we do that?"
"Our orders are to unconditionally execute all of your commands!"
"Then let's do it!" Zhang Menglong said, "Let them know what it means to forcefully mediate!"
