Chapter 73: Chapter 73
I release a sigh at the letter the raven drops for me. What is written in the letter is another piece of bad news. This time, it is the news of Westeros joining the war between us and Myr and Tyrosh. They will support Tyrosh, and in exchange, they will let the Seven Kingdoms take over all of the Stepstones. Tyrosh offers the entire islands as long as they help against us. Also, Myr is offering a massive amount of glass if the Seven Kingdoms send a reinforcement. That is also on top of them borrowing gold from the Iron Bank and hiring more mercenaries.
"I hate them. I hate them so much for making this even more complicated."
I groan and put my head on the table. While grumbling, I can feel a soft thing pressed against my back. I look up and see Melisandre smiling at me.
"This is not a problem, you know? This is an opportunity."
"What do you mean? It is a big problem, Melisandre."
"No. I received a vision last night; this is not a problem but an opportunity. An opportunity for a dragon to open his wings."
What does she mean by that? Opening my wings? I think for a few seconds before widening my eyes. She does not mean me opening my wings but rather a real dragon. She wants me to use Alduin.
"You want me to use Alduin in this battle."
"Yes. It is time for the world to see that dragons appear in this world once again, and this time, it is the King of All Dragons who is born from Fire and Void."
"Are you sure he is ready?"
Alduin is now four meters tall and seven meters long. His wings are twelve meters long from one tip to the other. He is massive, and he is still growing. Dany's dragons are still growing, but they grow slower than Alduin and only reach half of his size.
And they hatch earlier than Alduin.
"Yes. He is ready and even eager. You can feel his eagerness, right, my lord? The eagerness to prove to the world that he is the strongest in the world."
As much as I want to call it false, she is correct. Alduin is eager to fly high and wants to make me proud. It is like seeing a child want to please their parents. That is what Alduin feels, and he can only prove it by destroying my enemies.
I release a sigh and say.
"You are right. I want to wait a year or two before letting him join the war, but it seems like the situation forces me to be his rider in this battle."
"You don't need to worry, my lord. God is on your side. You and Alduin shall conquer the land just like how you already conquered the sky."
I nod and close my eyes. I take a deep breath and open my eyes.
"Now… Let's talk about which one we should attack. Land or the sea? The wall or the fleet?"
"Do you want to know what I saw, my lord?"
"Yes. Tell me what else you see."
"If you choose the sea, your name will bring fear into the heart of the enemy, my lord. They will do nothing but prepare in their castle after you burn their fleet. They need a decade before they dare to attack once again, but they do not have that because war is coming, for the Lioness' gaze is on her brother, and the Alpha Stag is left without an heir."
Ah, that means the War of the Five Kings will start, huh?
"Attacking their fleets, huh? Very well. I shall burn the incoming fleet and show the might of the dragon."

|3rd POV|
Paxter Redwyne grins as his fleet sails through the sea. He is about to meet the Solaris Fleet in the Narrow Sea. King Robert gives him the honor to bring his fleet and destroy the upstarts that is the Solaris Kingdom.
In his mind, a new kingdom cannot beat him and his fleet, which has served as the best fleet in Westeros for generations. He knows that the ships from the Solaris Kingdom are bigger and rumored to be faster.
However, he doesn't believe that rumor. He knows for certain that a ship that big cannot move faster, and even when his ships are smaller, they are more durable. Most of his warships are made of Ironwood from the North and are very durable.
The other reason for his confidence is that Solaris' ships rarely go near Arbor, and he thinks that is because they are afraid of his fleet. Even when they still do some trading with Bear Island, Solaris' ships are using the open sea rather than going through the Redwyne Strait.
While he is daydreaming of getting the honor of defeating the last dragon, a massive shadow appears above him. His eyes are so wide when he looks up that his eyeball might fall out. What he sees is a massive dragon with pitch-black scales and glowing purple eyes that look full of malice.
However, what shocks him even more is the rider on the dragon. It is a young man who looks very familiar to his former prince, Rhaegar Targaryen. This man is Viserys Targaryen, and he looks at him with an indifferent expression.
He points his finger at him and his ship before saying.
"Turn them into ashes."
He jumps into the water and gets deep into the sea without even thinking twice after his instinct screams at him to jump. As he turns around, he can see a massive purple fire burning his pride and joy, Arbor Queen, into ashes.
He swims away as fast as possible, and when he resurfaces, one of his men reaches for him. He quickly climbs into the ship, and his men start rowing away from the slaughterhouse. He is helpless as his fleet gets burned by the giant dragon, and he sees even the sea in flames because of that weird purple flame.
That day, two hundred and seventy warships departed from Arbor, but only twenty-three survived the massacre. Three thousand men died that day from being drowned, stabbed by the wood of the ships, or turned into ashes by the fire.
That is also the last day Westeros joins the conflict in Essos.
