I Promised to Win with Roger… But I Was Just a Kid

Chapter 19: Chapter 19 The boss fights to the death, what does it have to do with us soldiers?

On the other side, Rhett was building a simple open-air kitchen with blood mist, and a navy chef was helping him.

Rhett had been helping out before, but it seems like they don't know any other cooking methods besides grilling.

Rhett couldn't bear it any longer, so he took out similar the delicacies of the modern world and established his position as the head chef with just a little effort.

The scarlet mist rolled flexibly in his hands, and he could even control the temperature precisely.

"Mr. Rhett, is this red mist really not poisonous?" a new Navy cook asked cautiously.

"He heard that Mr. Rhett's mist can melt people. Is it really okay to do that?"

Rhett smiled and waved his hand "Don't worry, it just looks red, it's not poisonous."

As he spoke, he hooked his finger, and a handful of spices wrapped in blood mist were evenly sprinkled on the barbecue, and the aroma burst out instantly.

"Wow!" the navy soldiers exclaimed in unison.

Sunbell and a few navy officers emerged from the sea, holding a few big, lively fish in their hands "We have a good catch today!"

Watch this fishman jump onto the shore easily and handle the seafood skillfully.

"Would you like to try the Fishman's sashimi?" Sunbell grinned, revealing his sharp teeth. "Guaranteed fresh."

The navy came over naturally.

"We have already seen Mr. Sunbell's knife skills,"

"Really, when I go back home and want to eat sashimi, I can't find anything as delicious as the one cut by Mr. Sunbell."

"Then I am truly honored. Don't worry, we caught a lot of fish today and will make sushi for everyone later."

"Long live"

Elio sat by, plucking the strings with his fingers, and the melodious music echoed on the beach.

Several young navy soldiers nodded unconsciously to the rhythm, and some even hummed quietly.

"Hey, you guys are from the navy!" Navy officer Roth reminded with a red face. He felt a little embarrassed about the pirate barbecue he had just eaten.

"What does it matter?" Gaban laughed and patted his shoulder. "Music doesn't distinguish between good and evil!"

On the other side of the beach, several navy soldiers were surrounding Blumarin, curiously looking at his strange equipment.

"What is this?" a soldier asked, pointing at the device on her waist.

"Oh, this," Blumalin explained with a smile, "is a climate controller that I modified myself. It can control the wind direction in a small area."

"That's amazing!" the navy soldiers exclaimed.

Rhett looked at this absurd yet harmonious scene and couldn't help shaking his head and laughing "If the World Government saw this, they would probably go crazy."

Rayleigh walked up to him at some point, holding a glass of sake in his hand. "Garp's troops are always like this. They hunt us, not because of hatred, but because of their position."

As he was speaking, there was a sudden loud "bang" in the distance - the aftermath of the battle between Roger and Garp had collapsed another section of the cliff.

Everyone looked up, then continued to go about their own business in tacit understanding.

Rhett smiled and shook his head, turning back to cooking the ingredients.

"Mr. Rhett..." a childish voice sounded.

Rhett looked down and saw a midshipman who looked only 7 years old. He couldn't be called a navy student because the navy had an age limit.

He might be a talented young man that Garp had seen somewhere. Garp had even treated the pursuit of Roger as a practical lesson for the navy.

The little marine was staring at the barbecue in his hand.

"Want to eat?" Rhett raised an eyebrow.

The little navy kid nodded vigorously.

Rhett smiled, rolled up a perfectly grilled steak with a blood mist and handed it over: "Be careful, it's hot."

"Thank you!" The little sailor took the steak, took a bite impatiently, and squinted his eyes with happiness.

Rayleigh watched this scene and whispered, "Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like without opposing positions."

Rhett looked at the two men still fighting in the distance, then looked at the strange peaceful scene in front of him, and replied softly "Probably like it is now."

Six days later,

The sea surface was dyed golden. The food on the barbecue was changed round after round, and the sake was drunk barrel after barrel.

When the last ray of sunlight disappeared over the horizon, the sounds of fighting in the distance finally stopped.

Roger and Garp, with bruises on their faces, walked back arm in arm, both with bruises on their bodies but satisfied smiles on their faces.

"Starving!" Roger yelled and rushed to the barbecue grill.

Garp grabbed the whole leg of lamb that the Navy kitchen had just roasted and said, "This is mine!"

After the banquet,

Garp stood on the gangway of the warship,

He turned around and glared at Roger who was gnashing on the roasted fish bones, and said through gritted teeth

"Next time... I will throw you into Impel Down!"

Roger, his mouth full of food, laughed incoherently "Kuhahaha! You've said that many times!"

Garp groaned, turned to leave, but suddenly stopped, reached into his arms—his face suddenly changed.

"Roger!!!" He turned around and yelled, "Where are my senbei?!"

Roger blinked and spread his hands innocently "What senbei? I don't know? It might have fallen from your ship, hahahahahahaha."

But the bulging package in his arms completely betrayed him.

Veins bulged on Garp's forehead and his fists clenched so hard that they made a crackling sound, but in the end he just snorted heavily and turned around to jump onto the warship.

"Sail!" he ordered angrily.

The naval soldiers hurriedly collected the anchor and the warship slowly sailed away.

Rhett was standing by the side of the ship, watching the warship going away, when he suddenly noticed that the navy soldiers on the deck were secretly waving at them.

The young midshipman even yelled with red eyes: "Mr. Rhett! Next time - next time I will treat you to the Navy's special barbecue sauce!"

Rhett couldn't help but smile and waved, but he didn't respond.

Rayleigh stood beside him, looking at the warship going away, and whispered "Garp's soldiers are really just like him. This is Garp, hahahahaha."

Sunbell is counting today's "trophies" - a few navy uniforms (used as rags), a box of seasoning (stolen)

Elio plucked the strings and hummed an impromptu tune "~Navy and pirates~ grilled fish together~Tomorrow's newspaper~The headline is funny~" (Snow Leopard shuts up)

Rhett was not worried because he had killed all the seagulls that approached the island, which was why the World Government had not noticed anything wrong for so many years.

After all, the fight was real and the injuries were real.

Roger came over with a smile and took out half a bag of senbei from his pocket "Come on, come on, everyone who sees it can have a share! Garp is really stingy. He even asked me for half a bag of senbei."

Rhett looked at the happy crowd and thought, this is the right thing to do. Damn this world, damn Celestial Dragons.
