I Really Don’t Want a Girlfriend Anymore

Chapter 46: Tears Gushing Out

Skills were divided into two categories: permanent and one-time use.

Permanent skills included: Massage (Proficient Level), High Jump (Proficient Level), Studying (Proficient Level), Billiards (Expert Level), Table Tennis (Expert Level), Acting (Expert Level), Archery (Expert Level), Throwing (Expert Level), Cooking (Expert Level).

One-time skills, aside from those already used, included: Short Story Writing (Proficient Level) x2, RAP (Proficient Level), Makeup Technique (Expert Level), Horseback Riding (Expert Level), Aikido (Expert Level).

So diverse. Looking at the long list of skills, Yuu felt dizzy—he hadn't expected that just three days after getting the system, he'd master so many arts, nearly becoming a jack-of-all-trades.

This shouldn't be called the "Boyfriend System"; it should be the "Master of All Trades System"! Just fast-forward to an exciting urban novel.

"Thanks to Yukinoshita Haruno for the massive reward package… Thank you for your generosity."

Muttering to himself, he shifted his gaze back to the status list.

Of the three one-time statuses, Presence Suppression's use was unclear—he wasn't going to peep at a public bath; Strong Heart seemed like it could keep him focused on something for three days and nights, but he wasn't sure about side effects; Walking Hormone was straightforward and clear—wasn't that basically a virginity remover!

Like Ishinomori-san, if Yuu ever decided he didn't want to stay a virgin, he could give it a try.

"But its specific use isn't that great…"

Yuu rubbed his chin, frowning slightly.

Compared to Muscle Control, these status rewards weren't always needed but couldn't be called useless for the future. For example, Extreme Anger status—if not used on that second punch, he might've been in so much pain he'd turn pale, sweat coldly, and lower his impression points in Haruno's eyes.

It's hard to say if he'd have gotten this many rewards then.

Moreover, one-time traits had limitations. No one knew how long they'd last or how to handle things after the skill expired—this applied to skills too.

The "one-time only, non-repeatable" nature could easily lead to an embarrassing situation where a bluff gets exposed.

Thinking this, Yuu checked the one-time skills and found most were even less useful than the status rewards.

For example, Horseback Riding. Based on his gut, "riding" here was limited to living creatures—whether they walked on land, swam in the sea, or flew in the air. If he found a dragon, he could ride it freely, somewhat like the Riding skill of a Servant in FATE.

But unlike that, transportation vehicles seemed categorized under driving, and small animals like hamsters or humans couldn't be ridden… So, this skill was nearly unusable in daily life.

And the RAP skill, truly me☆n☆gu☆ng DaZe…

What's the point of rapping? This isn't a hypnotic microphone!

It's like mining and finding a bunch of side minerals—useless directly, a pity to discard, but keeping them stored feels like a waste…

"If only they could be combined."

Two useless minerals could merge into a versatile alloy—as a gamer, Yuu instinctively came up with this idea.

Then he tried, looking at Short Story Writing (Proficient Level) and RAP (Proficient Level), muttering to himself, "Combine!"

Nothing happened.

"No way?"

Disappointed, Yuu tried again for fun, muttering "combine" for all one-time skills.

Then the system panel started glowing.

"Hm? There's hope!"

Yuu got excited again, looking at the six glowing skills, pondering for a moment, then muttering for the first three proficient-level skills:

"Combine!"

[Would you like to combine one-time skills?]

[Note: Three identical skills can be 100% combined into a permanent skill. If the skills are different, the result will be random. Skill levels cannot be changed. Different levels cannot be combined.]

"I knew it, I'm the best."

Smirking proudly, Yuu looked at Short Story Writing, which was one short, hesitated, then chose:

"Yes!"

Writing took too much time and effort, and he wasn't keen on becoming a writer. Might as well try his luck.

[Confirming combination… Combination complete.]

[Congratulations, Host has obtained the skill: Writing (Proficient Level).]

Yuu: "Crap!"

(Damn you… I just said I wasn't interested in being a writer, and you immediately combine a writing skill for me. Typical Big Brother System.)

"Fine, at least I won't worry about writing essays later."

Yuu gathered his emotions and, without hesitation, combined the three expert-level one-time skills to see what they'd yield.

Yuu wasn't a gambler; he just thought these one-time skills might be designed by the system to be combined into permanent ones.

To help him quickly become a master of all trades, the system's efforts shouldn't go to waste. He didn't know if it could produce existing skills—he most wanted Studying (Expert Level).

With that skill, plus the special "Level UP," Yuu's "Sharingan" would be complete. He could learn any skill he wanted without depending on the system's mood.

Yuu took a deep breath, staring at the panel. With no one around, he prayed softly:

"Fusion Activate—Come on, Studying!"

[Congratulations, Host has obtained the skill: Swordsmanship (Expert Level).]

"…"

In the awkward silence, Yuu froze for two or three seconds, staring blankly into the void.

He blinked, then suddenly sighed, rubbing his cheeks, muttering to himself:

"Next time I combine skills, I need to wash my face first."

After two combinations, no one-time skills remained, and two new permanent skills appeared in the list—Writing (Proficient Level) and Swordsmanship (Expert Level).

"It's decided. When school starts, I'll head to the literature club and kendo club to challenge them."

After making a decision he'd never follow through on, Yuu opened the status column again, looking at the three one-time statuses.

[Would you like to combine one-time statuses?]

Yuu silently stood, went to the bathroom, scrubbed his face clean with facial wash, then returned to his room and confirmed.

[Congratulations, Host has obtained the status: Sharp Eyes.]

[Status will activate in thirty seconds. It is recommended that the Host go to the bathroom for easier face-washing.]

"What does that mean?" Yuu was stunned. Though he didn't fully understand, he followed the system's instructions, heading back to the bathroom to prepare.

Halfway there, Sora opened her room's door, hugging her black bunny, looking at him with a complex expression.

"Yuu, are your kidneys okay? It hasn't even been ten seconds, and you're going again…"

"Who's got bad kidneys, incomplete urination, or frequent urination? Back to your room!"

Even going to the bathroom and closing the door was audible—this house's soundproofing needed fixing!

Grumbling irritably, Yuu stood before the bathroom mirror, silently waiting for the system's countdown to finish.

[Status activated.]

The next second, tears gushed out.

"Damn it!"
