I Received System to Become Dragonborn

Chapter 965: New Phase

Arty and Sylmira sat cross-legged on the arena floor while quietly enjoying their breakfast. The charred cracks and scorched tiles surrounding them bore silent testimony to the earlier chaos Arty's elemental power had unleashed.

A half-melted practice dummy leaned awkwardly nearby and several overhead Magical projectors flickered and were damaged by a rogue blast.

But none of it seemed to bother them.

The destruction felt oddly peaceful in its stillness like smoke after a campfire, harmless once the flame had passed.

Arty munched enthusiastically, devouring her food at a rapid pace. The warmth of the bread, the perfectly seasoned eggs, and the lightly spiced meat was all too good to resist.

She finished half her plate before Sylmira had even touched her second bite.

"Hey, slow down," Sylmira said with a chuckle, sipping her tea. "You'll choke at this rate."

Arty paused, cheeks puffed with food, then grinned.

"Wouldn't that be funny? I'm here, training to become this super powerful Magic user, and I end up dying from choking on sausage?"

She burst out laughing. It was a bright and unrestrained sound that echoed lightly across the scorched arena.

Sylmira blinked, then laughed too, genuine and free.

She hadn't laughed like that in years. As Archmage of this kingdom, her life had been all solemn duty, grim prophecies, and rigid control. But here while sitting beside this girl surrounded by smoking training wreckage, she felt something unfamiliar.

It wasn't just amusement.

It was comfort as to become herself without anyone watching her image.

Arty wiped a tear from her eye. "Oh, wow… I needed that laugh for now."

Then, with a softer tone, she added, "I called my mom with telepathy last night just so she wouldn't worry."

Sylmira tilted her head. "Oh?"

"Yeah. Turns out, she said that she was enjoying the peace and quiet without me. She said that the house hasn't been this calm in years." Arty snorted. "But give it a week. I'm sure she'll miss my voice."

Sylmira smiled and said nothing, simply watching the girl talk, her warmth evident.

Then she spoke gently.

"What if you didn't stay in this arena to train?"

Arty stopped chewing mid-bite and looked up at her.

Sylmira continued, "What if later you went out there with some adventurers. Adventuring and exploring, not just stuck in this training dome?"

Arty's eyes widened. A second later, she beamed with her cheeks still full of food.

"That would be awesome!" she said through a mouthful of food. "But… I can't even control the other elements yet. What if I mess up?"

Sylmira shook her head. "Not now. I'm not saying today or tomorrow. You still have time to train. I'm just saying that it will be a good experience for you."

Arty nodded eagerly. "Well, when that day comes, I'm in. I'd love to go on an adventure in this world."

With that, they finished the rest of their breakfast. Arty stood, clapped her hands clean, and faced the center of the arena again.

"Alright, my wind elementals," she muttered to herself. "It's your turn to behave."

Sylmira leaned back on her hands and watched with quiet pride.

Krono stood in his chamber which looked like an ancient cavern. The walls weren't rough like those of a natural cave. They shimmered with veins of golden light that pulsed softly with the residue of his power.

Strange glyphs drifted through the air like motes of dust, forming and unforming with every shift in the Dragon's thoughts.

But now, none of that moved. The chamber felt too still.

The great Time Dragon stood motionless in his Dragon form. His massive claws embedded in the stone floor and his eyes were closed.

His breathing was uneven. A single bead of sweat ran down his scaled cheek and fell to the glowing stone beneath.

Then, his eyes snapped open wide and alert.

"This is bad…" Krono muttered, his voice low and tense. His golden eyes reflected faint echoes of futures only he could see. "I can't see much further. Something… something is blocking me."

His heart pounded which was a rare feeling for a being like him. Krono's power allowed him to navigate the currents of time like a river.

He could sift through possibilities, unravel choices before they happened, and prepare accordingly.

But now something had severed the thread. Right after a glimpse of churning skies, cracked earth, and shadowy beings beyond reckoning, it had all gone dark.

He had never felt this before.

It wasn't just a blur. It was an absolute stop of his power.

And he knew that this wasn't a chance. This was deliberate. This content was first released on MV_LEMPYR.

"This is an unknown powerful entity," he whispered. His wings twitched, reacting instinctively to the creeping fear slithering down his spine. "I must contact Erend and Eccar."

In the underground research facility below the factory, the experiment had officially begun.

The chamber was large and sterile. Its floor marked with containment circles glowing faint blue, which were the spells from Aurdis. But all of the candidates didn't know anything and didn't dare ask anything about it.

Projectors hovered near the ceiling. At the center of the room stood six candidates of the first batch.

They stood shirtless beneath arched metal frames, their backs to crystalline channels that pulsated with collected Magic essence. Tubes filled with distilled Magic essence fluid snaked from the machines to their spines, ready to deliver a carefully measured dose.

Nearby, the monitoring Erend, Billy, and Adrien stood behind reinforced glass panels, observing every movement.

A clear and authoritative voice echoed through the room.

"Assimilation Phase 1 begins now."

With a low hiss, the tubes activated.

Magic essence began to flow into the candidates. Not violently but gradually, like blood mixing with water.

Their bodies tensed. Some gasped.

The first goal was cellular compatibility to make their bodies accept the pure Magic infusion without rejection.

This stage was the most crucial. A failure here meant cellular collapse. But if successful will start their evolution.

Their internal pathways would begin to open. The Magic would become part of their biology.
