I Reincarnated as a Villainous Noble and Want to Enjoy a Laid-Back Harem Life – I Have No Intention of Getting Involved in the Main Story, Just Want to Live Comfortably with My Female Slaves, but Everyone Around Me Keeps Treating Me Like a Hero

Chapter 1.4 - Maintenance

I had lost to the pressure.

That was the only way to put it.

As a result of that absurd purchasing ordeal, I had ended up buying the girl who had latched onto me.

“W-Wait… Hold on. Where exactly are you taking me? You’re getting closer and closer to a noble’s estate!”

The girl I had bought—her name was Bohater. A twelve-year-old girl.

“Wait, are you serious!? We’re going inside!?”

“Jeeves.”

Ignoring the frantic girl behind me, I stepped into the mansion and called for my butler.

“Yes, I am here. What is the matter…? And who is the girl behind you?”

The moment I called, he was already there.

He really was a capable man.

“I bought her.”

I replied simply, watching as Jeeves cast a dubious glance at Bohater.

That alone should be enough for him to understand.

“Wha—?! Are you serious!? How did I end up in a place like this!?”

Bohater clung to my sleeve, her voice laced with disbelief.

“…”

At this point, ignoring her outright would just be childish.

With a sigh, I released the magic disguising my appearance and turned to face her.

“Yeah, I’m a noble. The heir of this house. You should be happy, shouldn’t you? You’ve just become a noble’s slave.”

“Fwaaaaaah!?”

“Jeeves. Get her cleaned up and make sure she’s presentable at my side. You can do that, right?”

“Of course, young master… But why did you suddenly purchase a slave?”

“Just a whim. Anyway, I’ll be at the training grounds. Bring her to me once she’s ready.”

“Understood.”

Leaving Bohater in Jeeves’ hands, I turned and walked away.

“…Sigh.”

As I walked, I let out a deep exhale.

That girl had been expensive.

Nearly all of my allowance had gone into buying her.

Now, I couldn’t afford another slave—meaning my entire budget had been spent on someone I didn’t even want.

“…No, no. Let’s think of something else.”

What’s done is done.

I’d just have to find a way to earn more money.

Shaking off my regret, I continued toward my next destination—the training grounds.

The House of Reinhardt was one of the most prominent noble families in the kingdom, a marquess house that ruled over vast lands.

Naturally, the estate itself was enormous.

Within its expansive grounds, a separate training facility had been built to allow the family to hone their combat skills.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been here.”

By the age of twelve, Lloyd’s arrogance had already reached extreme levels.

A prodigy like him had no need for training—

That was the delusion he had convinced himself of.

Because of that, he had rarely set foot in the training grounds.

“Well, that’s not an option for me.”

Unlike Lloyd, I couldn’t afford to neglect training.

“First, let’s assess my current abilities.”

Stepping into the training grounds, I began with some basic stretches to loosen up.

“…Alright.”

The most important thing to note was that this world had magic.

And Lloyd Reinhardt was a genius when it came to magic.

I needed to know exactly how much of that talent I had inherited.

“Oh!?”

A small part of me had feared that my past life’s knowledge would interfere, leaving me unable to use magic.

But when I followed the memories in my mind and activated a spell—

The magic manifested without issue.

“So this… is magic.”

I gazed at the small flame hovering over my fingertips, speaking in quiet wonder.

To think that I could actually use magic.

For someone who had been an ordinary Japanese high school student, this was an unbelievable experience.

I kind of wanted to just keep playing with it.

But—

“Alright. Time to test my physical abilities too.”

It wasn’t enough to just have magic.

I needed to work on my fundamentals as well.

After confirming that I could use magic without any issues, I moved on to the next step.

“Hup, hup, hup.”

I started running laps around the training grounds.

Lloyd, as he was in the game, had never done this.

His fundamental physical endurance wasn’t anything special.

That was something I needed to improve.

“Hm?”

About an hour into my run, I sensed movement at the entrance to the training grounds.

Slowing to a stop, I turned toward the approaching figures.

As expected, it was Jeeves—and Bohater.

“Whoa, you look completely different!”

Seeing Bohater’s transformed appearance, I couldn’t help but voice my amazement.

Her once unkempt hair had been neatly braided, and she now wore an elegant dress.

Honestly, she looked pretty good.
