I Spread my Genes to Level Up in the Apocalypse

Chapter 238: Deal with the Demon God, Fate Energy

With disbelief in the Demon God's eyes, it fell into the River of Time and Space, being ripped apart slowly but surely.

"Hmm." Despite Ray's achievement in killing such a powerful Peak Universal being, his brows furrowed into a scowl, and an unpleasant expression clouded his face.

"It's not dead yet?"

Sand swarmed the River of Time and Space, covering an astounding five kilometers as the figure of a bear slowly began to form at the epicenter.

"How is this happening?"

Ray narrowed his eyes, which glinted sharply. Even with his True Eyes unleashed to their full potential, he could barely, faintly perceive it—a line emerging from a different space, slowly supplying energy to the figure in the sand.

"This energy is really strange." His eyes immediately widened, interest reflecting in them.

He was deeply intrigued by such a phenomenon.

"This is exactly why I came to this universe."

Muttering this to himself, Ray focused on observing the strange energy.

The first thing he noticed was that this energy seemed to possess an intense attribute—the strongest attribute he had ever encountered—almost as if it had its own emotions, a will of its own.

This was precisely what he felt as he gazed at the energy. Other than that, he couldn't sense anything else…

"What kind of energy is this?" Ray's heart trembled violently. The more he examined it closely, the more he felt himself losing control, as if he were staring into a blinding light.

Blood slowly trickled down his eyes, and his gaze grew dimmer.

The mutation energy in his body was rapidly depleting along with his pupil power, and countless thoughts flooded his mind.

Faintly, he could hear…

Prayers.

Countless prayers as vast as the seas, nearly overwhelming all his senses.

Ray felt a chilling numbness as he stood there like a statue, almost as if he were frozen in time itself.

"These are prayers. Can prayers also become emotions?"

Ray closed his eyes, his heart trembling violently.

He opened his eyes to find the Demon God slowly recovering, fully restored without a single scratch.

Even after its recovery, it regarded Ray warily.

"Do you still want to fight me, Demon God?" Ray said with a chuckle.

"I ask you, human, do you want to fight me?"

"No, I don't want to fight you," he shook his head. "I came to you for cooperation after all."

"Huh?" The Demon God paused, stunned, as it looked at Ray.

"What do you mean by that?"

"A cooperation. Don't you want to be free from the Heavenly Dao?" A smile appeared on Ray's face. "The eleventh human god has long since taken control of the Heavenly Dao, merging with it. Your race of Demons has always been suppressed by this universe. Though you are strong, can you overcome them?"

"Hehe, human, you are a fool if you think I betrayed my realm just for a mere grudge. If I were to fight you, after the Heavenly Dao is dealt with and the human Gods are finished, you would definitely come after me." The Demon God replied with a snicker.

"What if you leave the universe and join ours?" Ray asked with a smile.

"Hmm, that might be possible, since our human and demon races are in irreconcilable conflict. This thought has crossed my mind, but it's simply impossible. First, if I were to enter another universe, we would have to be integrated, becoming a part of it to avoid corrupting the universe…"

"Secondly, even if I could enter your universe, for beings lower than gods, entering another universe is almost impossible."

"So, human, is there even a possibility for us to negotiate?"

It asked, its dark eyes glinting.

"Hmm, you're right. If we follow the conventional path, it's truly impossible. But…" Ray's smile turned mysterious.

"Do you know about pocket dimensions?"

"Yes, I do know that, Human, but what does it have to do with this?"

"What if I told you that your demons could adapt to our universe in the Pocket Dimension until enough time passes for them to be transferred to our world?"

Ray spread his arms, and a strand of Time and Space trembled, surrounding him.

"You can do that?" The Demon God's eyes narrowed with some astonishment.

"Do you know about technology?"

"Those pieces of metal that can't do anything? What's the use of them?"

Ray shook his head.

"Don't underestimate technology; it's a terrifying force that can defy all logic when advanced enough."

"Here, take a look at this."

He lightly waved his hand through the air.

The void began to distort, and from it emerged a human.

"Human?" the Demon God looked curiously. "... No, it doesn't smell like a human. A metal?"

"It's an interesting creation—a construct that can perform all the tasks a human can, yet with no emotions or limitations. With technology, you can create everything and anything; the possibilities are endless."

Ray chuckled as he showcased his creations one by one, each more astonishing than the last. Each left the Demon God feeling as if his world was spinning out of control.

Then, at last, Ray revealed a teleporter.

"Your Demon Race could easily be teleported from this universe to ours, using this."

The bear, the Demon God, examined it curiously for a long moment before turning toward Ray with a grin.

"You have a deal then."

"Good." Ray shook hands with the bear.

The man and the bear stood in the center of the river of time and space, grinning as they shook hands for the first time in this realm.

After reaching an agreement, everything became smooth, and the negotiation proceeded without a hitch.

Now, Ray asked the most important question that had been troubling him.

"What was that energy you used to rebirth yourself?"

"Fate Energy."

"Fate? Emotions could be energy?" Hearing this, Ray felt his mind in turmoil.

The Demon God casually shrugged, unaffected: "I never thought of it as emotion, but you're right. Prayers are emotions too."

"As a god, our power comes from our entire race. Unless you are able to eliminate every single demon in this realm, you'll never truly be able to kill us. It's the same for humans as well."
