Chapter 12:
Chapter 12:
As a major villain, Lin Chuan had always thought of himself as shameless enough, but he never expected to meet someone even more shameless than him.
This Qi Xuan spoke so righteously, claiming he wanted to “rescue” Ning Wenrou.
Yet, even after Ning Wenrou clearly expressed her unwillingness to leave the Lin family, he still wouldn’t give up.
Rescue? What a joke.
It was obvious that he had ulterior motives toward Ning Wenrou.
Lin Chuan hated hypocrites like him the most.
It was normal for men to admire beauty—if Qi Xuan openly tried to take her away, Lin Chuan would at least respect him for having the guts.
But pretending to be noble while harboring dirty thoughts? That was truly disgusting.
“Sure,” Lin Chuan agreed immediately.
“You…” Ning Wenrou glared at him furiously. Did this guy treat her like some kind of object that could be gambled away at will?
Unforgivable!
Absolutely unforgivable!
“Good, since you agreed, state your conditions,” Qi Xuan said smugly, the corners of his lips lifting in triumph.
“You see that restroom over there?” Lin Chuan pointed at a nearby public toilet. “If you lose, go in there and eat a bowl of shit.”
Qi Xuan’s face froze. “A gentleman can be killed but not humiliated!”
“Pah! Who the hell do you think you are? A ‘gentleman’? You’re just a hypocrite acting all righteous!” Lin Chuan snapped, finally losing patience. “So let me ask you—do you dare or not? If not, then shut the hell up.”
Qi Xuan gritted his teeth so hard they nearly cracked.
“Fine. I accept.”
“Then repeat my condition,” Lin Chuan smirked.
“If I lose this round… I’ll… I’ll go eat shit.” Qi Xuan practically forced the words out through clenched teeth, inwardly cursing Lin Chuan’s entire lineage.
Just wait. He was going to steal his woman right in front of him.
Let’s see if Lin Chuan could still act so cocky then!
Lin Chuan smiled faintly and gestured toward Fang Shijing. “Elder Fang, please continue the appraisal.”
Fang Shijing sighed inwardly.
Why were these young people so determined to go to extremes?
There was no deep grudge between them—why take things so far?
But this was their own business. Since he had agreed to be the judge, it wasn’t his place to interfere.
So, he could only carry out his duty.
Lin Chuan’s porcelain piece was a blue-and-white porcelain bowl.
The bowl had a diameter of about fifteen centimeters, with a circle of cobalt blue floral patterns painted along the outer rim. Due to the layer of glaze covering it, it had an aged appearance.
At first, Fang Shijing didn’t think much of it.
That Donkey Zhang was notorious for selling counterfeits that could easily fool the untrained eye. Artificial aging techniques were nothing special.
But after just a few glances, his expression suddenly changed.
“This…”
“What’s wrong, Elder Fang?”
Qi Xuan had been closely watching Fang Shijing’s face. When he noticed his expression shift dramatically, his heart skipped a beat.
This competition was about his reputation and dignity.
If something unexpected happened, it would be a disaster.
Fang Shijing didn’t respond immediately.
Instead, he flipped the porcelain bowl over multiple times, inspecting every detail.
Then, he slowly placed it on the table and gave Lin Chuan a long, meaningful look.
He coughed lightly and said,
“I believe that old grudges should be resolved rather than deepened.
“You are both outstanding young talents—there’s no need to push each other to ruin.
“I think this match should end here.”
His words were already a clear hint.
Qi Xuan’s eyelids twitched.
Could it be… this guy’s porcelain bowl was authentic?
How was that possible?
How could one person be lucky twice in a row?
Yet, Fang Shijing’s tone and expression left no doubt—it was real.
Panic surged in Qi Xuan’s heart.
He was shocked that Lin Chuan, a so-called good-for-nothing rich boy, could actually have such strong antique appraisal skills.
But he was even more afraid of what losing this match would mean.
If he lost here, his reputation would be completely destroyed.
“Young Master Lin, what do you think?” Fang Shijing turned to Lin Chuan.
At this moment, Lin Chuan held all the power.
If he was willing to show mercy, perhaps there was still room for negotiation.
“I don’t think so.”
Lin Chuan refused outright.
What a joke.
If he won, he would get all six antiques.
But if he agreed to a draw, he’d be losing millions.
Only an idiot would agree to that.
Seeing that Lin Chuan wasn’t backing down, Fang Shijing walked over and whispered in his ear,
“Young Master Lin, if you’re willing to show mercy, I’ll have him give you all three antiques he picked.
“I just want to protect his reputation—he worked hard to get to where he is today.
“If you agree, just consider it as me owing you a favor.”
Hearing Fang Shijing’s plea, Lin Chuan fell into deep thought for a moment before nodding.
“Fine. I’ll agree to a draw.”
As long as he could obtain the antiques, his goal was achieved.
As for Qi Xuan’s punishment…
Honestly, he didn’t care.
Fang Shijing breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Lin Chuan’s agreement.
He turned to Qi Xuan.
“Master Qi, let’s end this competition here.
“We’ll declare it a draw.”
The surrounding crowd immediately erupted into chaos.
“A draw? What? They’re not going to finish the match?”
“What the hell is this? How can they just stop halfway?”
“Looks like that kid was about to lose this round, so Elder Fang stepped in to protect him.”
“Makes sense. The Lin family is one of the top three families in Zhonghai. Even Elder Fang wouldn’t dare to offend them.”
“Hah! Using power to oppress others—how pathetic.”
“These rich kids have no real ability. All they know is how to bully people using their family backgrounds.”
The crowd started whispering all kinds of speculations.
They obviously didn’t believe Qi Xuan had lost.
Instead, they thought Elder Fang was helping Lin Chuan save face to avoid offending the Lin family.
In an instant, public opinion turned against Lin Chuan.
Lin Chuan didn’t care about the accusations at all.
He only cared about real benefits, not empty reputation.
But to everyone’s surprise, Qi Xuan refused to accept it.
“Elder Fang, this isn’t right.
“How can the match suddenly end in a draw halfway through?”
At first, Qi Xuan didn’t understand what was going on.
But after hearing the crowd’s discussions, he finally figured it out.
So Elder Fang was trying to protect Lin Chuan?
That realization infuriated him.
Fang Shijing was stunned by his response.
“You shut up!” he snapped.
“You invited me to be the judge, so you follow my decision.
“It’s settled—the match is a draw. Everyone can leave now.”
“Who said it’s a draw?”
Qi Xuan was furious.
He stared at Fang Shijing and declared loudly,
“Elder Fang, I invited you to ensure fairness, not to cover things up.
“You may be afraid of the Lin family, but I am not.
“I now officially demand that you announce the results of this round.”
Fang Shijing was completely dumbfounded.
Did this idiot have no brain?
Normally, he was quite smart—why was he acting like a complete fool right now?
Couldn’t he see that he was trying to protect him?
