Chapter 30:
Chapter 30:
“Sorry… I was wrong. How about this—I know a great private restaurant. If you have time, let me treat you to a meal as an apology.”
Xia Tian hurriedly apologized to Qin Chao and offered to buy him dinner.
Qin Chao immediately smirked and glanced at Lin Chuan.
“I thought you were something special, but this is it? You want to challenge me? Looks like I overestimated you.”
Lin Chuan replayed the video on his phone.
“Listen carefully—Lin Hai clearly called the person in the car ‘Mr. Qin.’ Are you saying that wasn’t you?”
Qin Chao scoffed.
“There are plenty of people with the surname Qin. Does that mean every Qin is related to me?”
The crowd, which had been enjoying the drama, started siding with Qin Chao. Some even found Lin Chuan’s insistence unreasonable.
“Hah, using a barely audible video to frame someone, and now that he’s been exposed, he’s still trying to argue?”
“He’s probably jealous of Qin Chao for saving the beauty. Seeing someone else be the hero must have made him envious.”
“That’s not necessarily true. This guy seems pretty upright—he doesn’t look like that kind of person.”
“Looks can be deceiving. Do you even know who he is?”
“Who?”
“He’s none other than Lin Chuan, the infamous playboy of Zhonghai—the notorious scoundrel of the Lin family!”
“What?! He’s that Lin Chuan?”
“No wonder! I’ve heard countless stories about his womanizing. They say he’ll stoop to anything to get a girl.”
“So he is the Lin family’s infamous young master? Then there’s no doubt—he must be framing Qin Chao!”
“That’s right! Is there anything this spoiled brat wouldn’t do?”
At this moment, Lin Chuan’s reputation came back to bite him.
A moment ago, many had believed his claims.
But now, knowing his identity, the entire crowd shifted their support to Qin Chao.
A notorious rich kid versus an unknown but seemingly righteous man.
To the onlookers, this was clearly a case of a wealthy bully abusing his power.
Lin Chuan, however, simply shook his head in disappointment.
“A bunch of sheep.”
His mocking remark only made the crowd more furious.
“Hah! Look at his attitude! With a personality like that, how could he possibly be a good person?”
“Exactly! He saw a beautiful woman and got jealous—now he’s making up nonsense. What a disgrace!”
“Just because he has money, he thinks he can do whatever he wants? We won’t stand for this!”
“That’s right! We won’t stand for it!”
The entire crowd turned against Lin Chuan, voicing their anger.
Qin Chao couldn’t help but laugh.
“The people have spoken! Someone like you doesn’t even need me to do anything—you’ll destroy yourself.”
“A bunch of idiots,” Lin Chuan replied indifferently, completely unfazed.
Then, his gaze fell on Lin Hai, who was standing behind Qin Chao with a mocking smirk.
“You want proof?” Lin Chuan said. “Fine. Show me your phone.”
Lin Hai’s smirk instantly froze.
He clutched his pocket tightly.
“Why should I let you see it?”
“That’s not up to you.”
Lin Chuan sneered and stepped forward.
“Stop right there!”
Qin Chao’s face darkened as he stepped in front of Lin Chuan.
Lin Hai’s confidence returned—with Qin Chao backing him up, Lin Chuan wouldn’t dare do anything.
Lin Chuan ignored Qin Chao completely, sidestepping him and continuing toward Lin Hai.
“Didn’t you hear me? I told you to stop!”
Qin Chao, now furious, swung a punch at Lin Chuan’s temple.
But this time, Lin Chuan didn’t dodge—instead, he threw a punch of his own.
BOOM!
Their fists collided, sending a shockwave through the air.
Qin Chao took one step back.
Lin Chuan stumbled back three steps.
It was clear—Qin Chao was stronger.
But Lin Chuan had planned this. The impact had pushed him right next to Lin Hai.
Lin Hai’s face turned pale.
He spun around to flee.
But Lin Chuan was faster.
He grabbed Lin Hai by the collar and lifted him effortlessly.
“What do you want?!” Lin Hai panicked, thinking Lin Chuan was going to beat him up.
But Lin Chuan didn’t hit him.
Instead, he reached into Lin Hai’s pocket, pulled out his phone, and unlocked it with ease.
“Give it back!” Lin Hai’s face twisted in horror as he lunged forward to snatch it back.
Lin Chuan simply flung him aside like trash.
“Why are you so nervous?”
“Could it be that your phone really has something to hide?”
Seeing Lin Chuan flip through his messages, Qin Chao rushed forward, trying to grab the phone back.
But Lin Chuan stepped back swiftly, dodging him.
While retreating, he opened WeChat and found Lin Hai’s pinned chat—with none other than Qin Chao.
With a tap, he opened the chat and played a voice message.
A familiar voice rang out:
“Mr. Qin, I’ve confirmed it—Xia Tian will be at Zhonghai Aviation Tower for an interview tomorrow. Once she comes out, my men and I will approach her…”
Hearing this, Xia Tian’s face turned pale.
She glared at Lin Hai, her expression furious.
Although this proved Lin Hai’s guilt, it still wasn’t direct proof of Qin Chao’s involvement.
But Lin Chuan wasn’t done.
He played another message.
This time, a deep male voice echoed through the crowd:
“Good. Do it exactly as planned.”
Whoosh…
The entire crowd fell silent.
Every single pair of eyes turned to Qin Chao.
If the previous video was too unclear to confirm Qin Chao’s involvement,
Then this recording left no doubt.
Xia Tian’s eyes widened in shock.
“It was really you…?”
Qin Chao’s face darkened.
His eyes locked onto Lin Chuan, filled with murderous intent.
But Lin Chuan remained unfazed, as if he didn’t even notice the threat in Qin Chao’s gaze.
Then, Lin Chuan casually tapped a button—
And called Qin Chao’s phone.
Beep… Beep… Beep…
Qin Chao’s phone rang in his pocket.
At that moment, everything became clear.
The so-called ‘hero saving the damsel in distress’—
Was nothing more than a premeditated scheme.
And the masterminds behind it?
Lin Hai.
And.
Qin Chao.
