[You must act quickly. Send the other heroes. You alone cannot reach them all in time. For if the demons succeed in taking the essence of each spirit... the Great Demon Lord will be summoned, I believe he is using that kid named George as a vessel for now.]

The atmosphere thickened with gravity as her voice quieted.

[Let us leave the rest for later. You may place a teleportation array here if you wish, but I shall not allow entry again until I am ready.]

Then, the shadows stirred. The spirit's presence intensified as she beckoned Logan closer.

Another tendril of shadow formed, writhing silently before it extended toward Logan. He didn't resist and allowed it to touch him.

The moment it made contact, pain surged through his body—sharp and overwhelming, like the agony of forced evolution.

This time, he couldn't even remain standing.

Logan collapsed to his knees, clutching his head as a wave of pressure and heat drilled through his thoughts. It felt as though the core of his being was being rewritten, reshaped by something ancient and far beyond him.

Only when the pain subsided, and the tremor in his limbs faded did he finally dare to check his status.
