I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…

Chapter 408: Draconic Crystal Sovereign

In a mine deep beneath the kingdom of Elris, two large figures stood beside one another—Ferra, now in her human form, and Myriad, the ancient crystalline leviathan.

Moments earlier, Ferra had arrived at the vast underground lake. With a single step forward, the water erupted beneath her, forcing Myriad to the surface as ice formed in a wide ring around him, leaving little room to escape.

"So, you're still alive, Livy… and you've become the tamer's creature. What a development," Ferra said, her golden eyes gleaming.

"But a welcome one," she added. "If not for that, I would've never sensed your presence. Now tell me—why are you down here, hiding instead of standing beside your new master?"

She tapped her foot, and the crystals obeyed. In an instant, a throne of shimmering stone rose behind her, forming a seat fit for a deity.

[I do not need to follow the boy. He was granted access to my crystals, and I his power. That is all. He will return in time to claim more. A mutual understanding.]

Myriad's voice resonated through the cave—not spoken, but resonated—vibrations woven through the crystal walls, echoing like an elemental song.

Ferra sighed. "You know full well the war has reached its peak. He'll need you during this phase. At least do your part to protect Elris. He'll be far too occupied defending the other kingdoms to return here himself."

She leaned back in her throne, her expression unreadable.

Ferra had spies everywhere—across the central continent and throughout her vast territory. She knew what the demons plotted… and what sacrifices the humans were preparing to make.

But she cared for neither side.

Her duty lay with the wild—the beasts, the spirits, and the long-lived creatures that would still remain long after humans and demons faded. The demons were the greater evil… but it was humanity who had invited this ruin.

[And why should I help? If I leave this place, they'll find my lair. You know what humans do. They'll try to destroy everything.]

Ferra's glare was sharp and wordless—yet it was enough to make the ancient sovereign flinch.

"You are blessed by the earth, are you not? Fix the path on your way out… or would you prefer I make the opening for you? Now move. They're hurting the creatures near Light's domain—it might be a good chance to earn a favor from it."

The long-lived serpent sighed, puzzled as to why the guardian was so insistent he leave.

He didn't understand the full gravity of the situation. What was coming for Elris wasn't just any threat—it was the strongest of the demons… and one of the fallen heroes.

Ferra already knew it would be difficult for the others, especially for the Champion—the one who would soon face his friends.

"Just go. You know I cannot intervene yet."

[Don't tell me it's because of the Creed. When will you guardians ever change that old thing?]

Myriad scoffed but nodded.

[Fine, fine. Just don't let me be the only one sent to protect Light. I don't want to be the only one to speak to him… he'll give me an earful as well.]

"A few heroes are on the way, two of which are riding your kind, so you should greet the other tamers Sovereigns."

[I bet I am stronger…]

Myriad checked his own stats and was glad he drained half of the crystals after feeling Logan had changed jobs, he would have drained even more if not for Ferra coming.

───────༺༻───────

Skills:

Crystal Maw: Myriad bites down with diamond-hard crystalline teeth. Each chomp has massive armor-shredding and mana-disrupting effects. Capable of breaking even advanced defensive magic.

Sovereign Crystal Burst: Myriad launches a volley of sharpened crystal shards imbued with elemental energy. These can pierce most magical and physical defenses and can detonate mid-air if the target tries to block or dodge.

Reflective Core (Passive): Damage-based spells that strike the serpent's body have a 40% chance to reflect a portion of the energy back at the attacker. The higher the intelligence of the caster, the more accurate the reflection.

Aetheric Pulse: Myriad emits a sonic pulse through water or crystal mediums that disorients all foes and scrambles elemental spells temporarily. Particularly effective against fire, lightning, and sound-based attacks.

Crystal Rejuvenation: Myriad draws upon the surrounding crystal field to slowly regenerate mana and health. This can also purify minor status effects and restore broken scales over time. (Enhanced when Kryst uses Crystal Cultivation.)

Crystalline Sovereign Form (Ultimate): Myriad temporarily transforms into its Holy Dragon Form—a massive, winged crystal dragon. In this state, its scales glow with divine mana and it gains flight, enhanced spell resistance, and a new set of holy-aligned breath attacks. Can only be used for 5 minutes and requires natural crystal absorption to recharge.

Earthen Crown (Earth Skill): Myriad summons a crown of living stone around his body, forming protective spires that deflect incoming attacks and impale nearby foes. These crystal-embedded pillars rise from the ground and pulse with holy energy, disrupting undead or corrupted enemies who come too close.

Bonus: Grants a temporary boost to Constitution and physical defense for 10 seconds.

Sanctified Tides (Water Skill): Myriad releases a radiant surge of sacred water that floods the battlefield in a wide wave, cleansing allies of debuffs while washing enemies away. Enemies struck are slowed and partially blinded as the light-infused waters seep into their wounds, searing darkness-aligned foes.

Bonus: Heals all allies standing within the affected zone for a moderate amount over time.

Abilities:

Draconic Authority (New – Passive): As a Holy Sovereign and partial dragon, Myriad exerts passive fear and suppression toward lower-ranked beasts or corrupted enemies. Demons and darkness-aligned creatures suffer reduced regeneration and speed when within 30 meters.

Ancient Bond (Special): Myriad can communicate telepathically with any being marked by Logan's Empathic Link. It can channel its own will, advice, or emotions through Logan to other soul-bound creatures, acting as a spiritual advisor or warning system.

"Now go. I still need to warn Wind about the demons."

A swirl of snow swept through the cavern, and—just like always—Ferra was gone before Myriad could get another word in.

[Damn her… always making me do everything,] he muttered, the cave echoing with the fading resonance of his voice.
