Chapter 1: Why just...why this {Fixed}
A Dark Room Filled with Blood
A one-armed girl stood in a room drenched in blood, her body covered in wounds. Blood seeped from her torn flesh, pooling beneath her. In front of her lay a half-dead man, barely holding onto life.
[Man]: Monster… I can't believe you're my daughter… the one she died for.
[Grey]: And I can't believe she married trash like you.
The man coughed up blood, his vision blurring.
[Man]: What have I done to deserve this?
Grey's expression remained cold, her breathing ragged.
[Grey]: Oh, I don't know. Maybe it was forcing me to eat my mother's frozen corpse? Poisoning me over and over? Making me kill my best friends? Or maybe it was planting a bomb in my heart, just in case I ever disobeyed?
The man's face twisted in terror.
[Man]: Wait—
With a swift motion, Grey snapped his neck. His body collapsed, lifeless. The weight of her injuries finally caught up to her, and she, too, fell to the ground.
Darkness consumed her.
[Grey pov]
[Grey's POV]
Dark.
All I can see is dark.
Is this what death feels like? Is this what happens when you die? Just… darkness?
Where is Heaven? Or even Hell?
How long has it been? Days? Years?
Did they make it? Or did they fall, just like me?
Well… at least I killed that trash of a man.
All I want to do now… is sleep.
But before I could close my eyes for the last time, a voice called out to me.
[???]: Wake up, lady. You've been sleeping for an hour now.
What? Where? When?
[Grey]: Are you… a god? If you are, then tell me—
[Six]: First, no, I'm not a god. And second, why does everyone keep asking about Genshin Impact's ending?
[Grey]: Come on, just tell me! It's not like it'll kill anyone.
[Six]: Still no. And I'm here to tell you that you're getting reborn. As a random monster or human. In a random world. But hey, you get two wishes, so be happy. And—hey! Stop giving me that 'you're useless' look! I'm just doing my job, okay? Now, hurry up and tell me your wishes.
[Grey]: Tch… fine. Can I get more wishes? Or maybe just go to Heaven or Hell instead?
[Six]: Nope. Just the two wishes. And as for Heaven and Hell… well, your life was basically Hell already. But you also helped a lot of people. So you can't go to either. Your only options are rebirth or complete erasure.
[Grey]: Ugh. Fine, give me the paper.
[One Hour Later]
[Grey]: Here.
[Six]: Alright, let's see… A Chat Group system? And super-healing, so even if you lose your head, your body regenerates? Wow. Bold choices. Okay, done. Now, are you ready for your new life?
[Grey]: Yeah… Just don't make it as bad as the first one.
[Six]: No promises, kid. But have a nice life.
With those parting words, Six disappeared into a bright white light.
Sitting in his chair, he sighed and looked toward a large door.
[Six]: She was a good kid. I wanted to give her more, but rules are rules… Alright, send in the next one.
[Third-Person POV]
[Unknown Planet – Ocean]
Grey woke up. The first thing she saw was… blue.
Blue everywhere.
She blinked—or at least, she tried to. Wait. Could she even blink?
Her body felt… strange. She looked down.
Tentacles. Transparent skin.
No.
No way.
She recognized this form.
A jellyfish.
She was surrounded by hundreds of them, drifting in the ocean currents.
[Grey]: …Why? Why of all things did I have to become this?! At least make me something that walks on land!
She inhaled deeply.
[Grey]: Okay, calm down, Grey. You've been through worse. Just… take a deep breath. Wait. Do I even have lungs?
Shaking off her frustration, she focused on getting used to her new body.
Moving the tentacles was hard. The sensation was completely foreign to her.
And her mouth?
…Oh no.
Eating would be weird.
[Grey]: Great. I have to eat through my—ugh. Never mind. Focus.
She scanned her surroundings.
There. A tiny shrimp.
[Grey]: Perfect. I'm starving.
She swam toward it and examined it.
[Name]: None
[Species]: Saltwater Blue Shrimp
[Age]: 1 Week
[HP]: [5/5]
[Mana]: [1/1]
[Grey]: Huh. A status screen? Maybe this is Six's way of apologizing.
She wrapped her tentacles around the shrimp, slowly moving it toward her mouth.
It took a while to eat, but eventually, she heard a notification.
[EXP: +2]
[Grey]: Heh. Leveling up? This might actually be fun.
She called up her status.
[Name]: Grey
[Species]: Ice Jellyfish (Newborn)
[Age]: 1 Day
[EXP]: [2/5]
[Level]: 0
[HP]: [10/10]
[Mana]: [3/3]
[Skills]: None
[Grey]: Alright. Time to grind.
She spent the next several hours hunting shrimp and small fish, growing stronger with each meal. Eventually, she hit level 5.
[You have reached Level 5!]
[Species: Ice Jellyfish (Newborn) → Ice Jellyfish]
[Grey]: Yes! No more being tiny!
Now, she was a full-sized jellyfish. No longer easy prey.
[Grey]: Alright, scary fish. Time for revenge.
She paralyzed a larger fish with her tentacles, dragging it toward her mouth. It struggled, but her venom made escape impossible.
[EXP: +6]
[One Day Later]
Grey had hunted relentlessly, growing even stronger.
[Name]: Grey
[Species]: Ice Jellyfish
[Age]: 2 Days
[EXP]: [499/500]
[Level]: 9
[HP]: [100/125]
[Mana]: [50/50]

[Grey]: Just one more…
She finished off another fish.
[EXP: +6]
[You have reached Level 10!]
[Choose Your Evolution: Magic Ice Jellyfish or Big Ice Jellyfish]
[Grey]: Magic. Obviously. Who wouldn't want to use magic?
A bright blue light engulfed her. Her body grew, becoming thicker and more defined. Ice-like formations grew along her tentacles, and a strange glowing orb formed at her core.
[You have evolved into a Magic Ice Jellyfish!]
[Grey]: Hah… I feel exhausted. Time to rest.
She returned to her jellyfish horde, ready to sleep. But then…
[Starting Chat Group…]
[Sending Invitations…]
[Blood Priest]: By the Blood God, thanks for this blessing!
[War Healer]: Is this HQ? Send help! The undead are breaking through!
[Goose Boss]: How dare you kidnap me?! You're dead!
[Moon General]: In the king's name, show yourself!
[Freedom Fighter]: Hahaha! You'll never take my freedom!
[Slimes Are Cute]: Uh… hello? I'm not evil, I swear!
[Bone Samurai]: …Ugh. Not this again. Let me sleep.
Grey read the chat.
…Then immediately went offline.
Grey closed the Chat Group as soon as she saw their messages and names. Blood Priest, War Healer, Moon General, and… Goose Boss?
Why the last one? But aside from that, they all seemed like big shots from their own worlds.
Okay, calm down. Let's take a look at this properly.
[ You have gone online. ]
[Moon General]: YOUR GOD IS A LIE! THE MOON GOD IS THE TRUE AND ONLY GOD!
[Blood Priest]: OH, YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH, HERETIC! YOUR EVIL GOD SHALL FALL!
[War Healer]: IF YOU ARE NOT THE HQ, THEN YOU ARE THE ENEMY! WE WILL FIGHT TO THE LAST MAN!
[Goose Boss]: LET ME OUT, YOU F###ING SLIME! YOU LOOK LIKE MY S###!
[Freedom Fighters from the Future]: FOR FREEDOM! F### ALL OF YOU!
[Slimes Are Cute]: HEY! DON'T LET ME FIND YOU, OR I'LL MAKE FRIED GOOSE OUT OF YOU!
[The Bone Samurai]: So you're not the souls of the old coming to torture me again… No, you're worse. Now I can't even sleep.
SHUT THE F### UP!
